I do not care with LCD, LED, AMOLED or whatever its name. All are very good enough, and the most important for me is just the screen is not easily broken....

Anonymous, 01 Dec 2010how do pentile cheat? care for a explanationI'm not an expert, but since I couldn't find any good article, I'll do my best. Someone correct me if I make errors.

Normally one pixel in a display consists of red, green and blue subpixel (RGB). RGBG PenTile, that is used on Galaxy S, Wave etc. consists of (as the name implies) RGBG matrix.

What this means is that for each pixel there is green subpixel and either red OR green subpixel. That basically means that 800x480 display does have 800x480 green resolution, but only 400x480 red and 400x480 blue resolution.

If you do the math, on subpixel level, the difference to the 640x360 CBD on C6-01 isn't all that great. Also the sppi (subpixels per inch ;) is far greater on C6-01.

To be fair, there is a scientific reason for the RGBG matrix, since human eye is more receptive to green color. However to me at least, this seems quite noticable.

    Was that good enough?

Sails, 01 Dec 2010Agreed. CBD is the best. It doesn't have the PenTile cheat that Samoled uses. I hope N9 will be CBD.how do pentile cheat? care for a explanation

Super AMOLEDs have over-satured colors with a reason, because the oleds colors will slowly fade with time (especially blue). The owners of a SAMOLED phone(Galaxy S, Wave) noticed that after 4-5 months of usage, some screen burn-ins appeared on the blue color.

C6-01 dpi is calculated wrong. As the screen size is smaller than the N8's and the resolution stays the same, it can't have the same dpi.

people see what they expect to see.
people who own iPhones would say their screen is the best..
people who have the N8 and other Nokia phones would claim that nothing beats theirs..
people who own Samsung phones, especially the ones with Super AMOLED, would undoubtedly quote GSM Arena left and right for praises about this technology..
LG, SE, HTC owners would of course see something special in their precious phones..
you see, at the end of the day, it's all about US users who decide which phones are best for us.. if we truly believe that what we have satisfies what we need, then there's no use bashing other people's phones into what would then become an endless (and pointless) battle towards the "best mobile phone display" in the world..

Anonymous, 30 Nov 2010"....but coming from a photographic background..." You should also be aware that ... moreFrom a photography point of view yes, u look at the picuture as a whole or as is... Remember we r talking about mini computer screens here, where pinch and zoom is common where multiple windows are often required, where multimedia is huge on a number of levels... And we are also talking about 3.5- 4 inch screens where resolution is massive and probably the biggest factor in terms of image quality.
I've owned over ten high end smartphones over the last 18'mths or so from Nokia to se to samsung to lg, moto and finally apple. People can call me a fanboy or whatever fact is I will sell my ip4 in a second when I see a better phone.. I've sold all but 2 my ip4 and my htc desire, my house mate owns the galaxy s and in all honesty IMO after using the ip4 the other screens just don't cut it for me anymore... As good as the super amoled is with it's super contrast and rich colors its still just seems like a really good computer screen. Ip4 is so chrisp and clear it's almost like having tangible objects infront of u.
I also think if u went out and showed a whole bunch of people am computer screen, one with slightly better contract , one with a higher resolution in general most would opt for the latter
