Samsung is. LG created the I-Phone 4's retina display and now LG created an even better screen (NOVA Display) and Samsung only recently released their new Super Amoled plus.the LG Optimus 3D is faster than the Galaxy S2. so i dont think LG is lagging behind/dragging its feet, in fact, its like the trend-setter, unlike samsung which is just a follower

LG 3D: camera crashes (loo at the video demo)
LG Optimus Tab: when setting the wallpaper it crashes. LG is junk, i always had been and it always will be :)

the design is AWESOME! the specs are not the best, but that's ok :) hope the price will be reasonable (by reasonable i mean cheap).. it doesn't have the best specs, maybe $580 ? hmm

Well done LG! I like the idea of display technology competing. Nova has brought new important attribute to evaluate a good display in this mobile world. LG is on the right way. Simply we use the phones outside and need brighter screen.

I feel very lucky to be upgrading soon :)
With all the great phones soon to made available, these really are exciting times in the world of mobile phones.
As for who makes better phones.....bit of a wasted argument as ALL manufacturers are guilty of some very bad mistakes. I would say only the iphone completes the picture....good hardware, good software, good apps. Don't worry I ain't no iphone fanboy....but credit where credit is due.....
But I won't be getting an iphone...I like to think outside the box and also like a challenge ;O)
As for Samsung...I wouldn't touch their phones with a barge pole! As an owner of an i8910 phone, I feel their support is a disgrace...I believe they just release phones with all the latest tech but with zero support!!!..Even their firmware updates never solved all the issues with the phone....Ask all the i8910 owners that have had to jailbreak their phones and invalidate their warrenties.
So, it's goodbye Samsung mobile and hello, LG, HTC, Sony :)
And if Samsung have finally sorted out their support issues then well done but Elvis has left the buiding ;O)

although LG has introduced the new world of smartphones with fastest speeds and tegra 2 chips but regret to say that the touches are not looks as smooth as the apple iphone has, as per the demo videos........

The angled shots for the NOVA-Retina-SAMOLED shootout are quite blurred. You guys should get a better photographer...LOL (and/or a better camera).

The carrying case for the Optimus Pad looks nice; and the magnetic clasp is quite cool. But it ought to be reinforced--I can imagine it looking pretty crappy after a week or 2 of repeated opening and closing.
