If you want all the "high end features", then you must. Your personal life choices hold no bearing here. If you can't grasp it, go back to the Nokia 3310.
i have gone back to windows , getting very very bored of the same old stuff... to be honest i dont need dual core and 3d , i just need a phone that works for what i need it to , do what i ask it to thats it , call texts some web usage and a bit of facebook.
dont get me wrong i love innovation but come on 3d on a phone why ?
I'm totaly with july's comments on this case :)
gsmarena cant wait for the review for wildfire s. so excited :)
AnonD-1849, 17 Feb 2011I am from India and had planned to buy Desire. Now as HTC has announced the Desire 2 i need to... moreIf you still haven't got the Desire, well wait for some time(at least till mid 2011)as HTC will definitely make an official announcement.
But if you can not wait till then go for HTC's Desire Z or Desire HD, which is available right now in India.
I know, how frustrating it can be, if you buy a handset & within few days company launches newer version(happened to me when I bought Desire in Dec,2010)
I hope they come soon with Flyer, looks amazing.
Well, Good luck with your phone!!!
AnonD-751, 20 Feb 2011Yeah everyone knows their tiny but they still think they are the shit...when they are making t... morelol obvious WP7 fanboy. Android is an open source OS, always updated and highly customizable. WP7 is still immature for now, slow updates, and strictly-to-non customizable (befriend Microsoft to customize it like what Nokia did, money talks in this case). And with its high hardware requirements (and no big company interested to launch new WP7 phone in MWC 2011), it won't outsell or even killing Android.
I don't see the point of bringing in a phone, with lots of features, it is aimed at the 'lower priced' end of the market (me!) yet you don't get any instructions how to use the thing!! It beggers belief.
Anyone who understands all of the features, capabilities etc are more than likely going to be interested enough to go for a higher spec phone yet someone like myself who just wants to use a phone, text, take a few pictures, retrieve emails whilst at work and access the internet on my commute won't be into all of the specs and have never used anything like this before so it puts it out of reach.
I'm a single working mother - you seriously think I know what Android is (or really cares?!) You pay this much for a phone... I want instructions!!!!
Simple things have led to to use language that only an ex can normally get out of me... How do you answer a call? How do you access the address book. How do I put a little shortcut to face book on it. Can I change that god awful keyboard or not? How do you change it off the pre set vibrate?
Simple things for most who have used them but by missing out the basic instructions a whole market of users have been ommitted.
I got so frustrated with it I plonked a pile of towels on it until I can send it back. I fear that if I kept it it would shortly turn me into an alcoholic.
Sadly I think this phone has been aimed at pleasing the critics rather than the mass users :(
Yeah everyone knows their tiny but they still think they are the shit...when they are making the most ugly phones...android is what support them, and android is soon gonna be like symbian when WP7 takes over...hahahahah sweet future plans!!!
TheRealist, 17 Feb 2011Hmmm...has anyone here ever owned/run a mobile company? People need to get in the real world. ... morei totally agree. for the s line, i already expect that. for me its the best move...desire already have its identity, 3.7" single core, at least 5mp camera...it will continue. enven how bad they still better than any other. for me i think SE is a bit lost, coz before now they were known to have good quality camera & zenon flash.. for me WMC 2011 sit on the expected level not on excellent level.
htc did not come out of nowhere. they made phone for hp, palm, and others before they started to make phones for themselves. but they are still tiny compared to nokia, samsung, lg, and apple.
TheRealist, 17 Feb 2011Hmmm...has anyone here ever owned/run a mobile company? People need to get in the real world. ... moreyou are mostly true on what you say about HTC but desire s will outsell galaxy s II? Are you freaking joking, galaxy S outsold desire comfortably last year and this year samsung is even going to make that gap bigger, trust me
Htc are not going down what they are do is a refresh as people liked the Desire so much they are just refreshing it the main complaint as i remember was that why didnt the Desire have the same build type as the Legend so they have done that, as the Desire was such a good seller. I really dont think Htc came with guns a blazing but they will do later in the year.
really there is no difference between this at what Apple did with the iphone 3 before people write them off lets see what they will do
I am from India and had planned to buy Desire. Now as HTC has announced the Desire 2 i need to know. By what time will the Desire 2 hit india and should i wait for it or go and buy the Desire now (I am not a person who keep on changing the phones every fortnight). Please tell ur suggestions.
Anonymous, 15 Feb 2011HTC seems to be running in circles. Nothing REALLY new. The tablet is the most fail. 0:1... moreIt's a capacitive touchscreen. Seems to be you are the one running in circles or you simply can't comprehend how much technology has evovled? :)
Hmmm...has anyone here ever owned/run a mobile company? People need to get in the real world.
HTC came from nowhere essentially and then dropped their first fully mainstream phone (desire) on the market last year. To say it's been successful is an understatement.
When will stupid fanboys realise that these are companies aiming to make money, not have a 'nerd-off'. The HTC chief doesn't sit in his office and tell R&D that after reading gsmarena comments he wants a brand new phone, fully developed in under a year to supplant the desire, he wants it running a 5ghz quadcore, 15mp camera, gingerbeard 4.374838, 64gb internal, 25 sd slots etc etc...carry on dreaming.
The idea that HTC have failed by only updating the desire less than a year after release is simply laughable.
Don't get me wrong, I'm a geek for all the specs and everything else, but I'm realistic too. If people really thought they were going to get some amazing new phone a year later then they need to check their heads.
HTC is clearly playing a long game and have looked at apple's success, and they also know that the desire s will outsell the galaxy 2. And that my friends is the calculation. I'd love a brand new phone, but it was never realistic.
If the Desire S would come in silver it would be an awesome successor to the HTC Legend. It's hardly an upgrade to the 1yr old desire.
awesome!
