AnonD-4583, 02 Apr 2011dude when its come to music no one can beat sony
i m nt a sony fan boy i hve used nokia in th... moreThat you are not a SE fanboy is pretty hard to believe. Check out GSMArena sound quality test.
Seriously, techically wise, there's nothing special about the audio quality on SE handsets.
If you say that you PREFER the SE phones audio, no problem at all, but there's no denying that Nokia, Samsung and Apple are much more accurate with sound quality fidelity.
SE phones are beautiful and stylish but that's all.
[deleted post]dude when its come to music no one can beat sony
i m nt a sony fan boy i hve used nokia in the past and i cn say dat dere sound quality is nothng compared to sony
even apple does nt cme closer to sony in terms of sound quality
The Singapore box set comes with the HDMI cable.
hi everyone , i am confused between SE arc
and HTC pyramid. I want good battery life,
excellent in-call voice clearity and signal
reception and back up of my contacts as i
have on my Nokia E72 over ovi sync ,
please help , thanks
RJ11, 02 Apr 2011SE is the only Manufacturer to provide good audio quality on their handsets consistently??
... moreNokia is really infamous for it's sound quality.
They r consistent in providing phones with mediocre sound quality.
I'm glad SE returned to the battle.
yeh poor viewin angle is geeit.
japan has special sheets to put on yer screen to decrease viewin angle.
i lav it.
'Poor viewing angles'
I dont know y dis is disadvantage ? Actually I feel its advantage .. It sort of gives "Privacy".
Anyway why do you want to tilt your screen and watch it from different angle ... Just watch straight :)
Anonymous, 02 Apr 2011The freq response graph is not describing the amplitude or sound level of certain frequencies ... moreYou've kind of contradicted yourself there... The graph represents frequency vs amplitude (output power level measured in dB). Since the low and high frequencies regions are boosted, their amplitudes are greater than the reference at 0dB. As a result, the output of the device is not true to the recording. You will hear exaggerated bass and treble.
SPDR, 02 Apr 2011the cnet review for the arc said that the arc ahs a front facing camera, can someone confirm/c... moreyeah i saw that too, it's a stupid mistake that shows cnet people are stupid enough to review a phone they don't even know
aww stereo crosstalk sucks on this with headphones :(
thd also not impressive..
damn my old w880 has better sound quality over all than this, except the noise lvs.
what a shame
in finland i got my desire HD fpr 599 euro i paid 480 cause i dont need to pay tax.
Hmmm.. in my box i found not only the HDMI-cable but also a leather pouch and a screen protector as well as the usual USB-cable/plug and headset of course.. oh, it also had the 16GB card in it instead of the 8GB, guess it just depends on which country you happen to be buying it in..
As for the phone itself, it's absolutely stunning.
It looks good, feels good in your hand and the response is quick.
Only negative thing so far is the powerbutton being too small and placed on the wrong side if you ask me, should have switched places on the HDMI and the powerbutton but oh well.. other then that it's fab!
Great Review, Wonderful Job SE
I also read others saying that this phones DOES have auto-brightness; it's just that it's always on and can't be disabled.
Another unboxing video with HDMI cable:

... actually, every other unboxing video that I've seen shows an HDMI cable. GSMArena, get in contact with Sony Ericsson!
Reginald, 02 Apr 2011For those complaining about the frequency response, it is VERY unlikely to be a mistake on SE'... moreIt would be good if GSMArena could get in contact with Sony Ericsson to inform us exactly why the frequency response is like that. It looks like an intentional bass and treble boost.
abhi, 01 Apr 2011That's exactly what i'm thinking. Great bass levels and treble levels r a favourite thing fo... moreThe freq response graph is not describing the amplitude or sound level of certain frequencies when playing music, it is to describ how precise is the handset to deliver the sound compare to the sound when it was recorded. Smaller the number or deviation means it's closer to equal to the original sounds when you here it thru the tested device. I agree with gsm-arena that SE should have to fix this flaw in the future update!
Anonymous, 02 Apr 2011i've read on the rogers webssite for the arc spec sheet, as well as a member over on XDA forum... moreGSMArena, please investigate this and get back to us. The Qualcomm MSM8255 SHOULD support HSPA+ with 14 Mbps downloads.
Check out this unboxing:

An HDMI cable is in the box here.
