Wow, aging but still works ok, almost 4 years now. First battery! One time needs factory reset though and sometimes does shutdown itself. Perhaps S4 is now my next one. Cheap and awson.

My s 2 is not performing up to the mark. Poor battery back up. Now the phone is getting heat very often. can i expect a reply ? How can i change to belly jean ?

been using this monster since day1 in chennai(from june 3 2011).
one word to describe = AWESOME
actually im sharing my own opinions.tis may b helpfull for sum1 who is willing to upgrade their mobile.
almost my 2yrs life with my galaxy s2 is such an enjoyable moments.
actually i do hav nokia n8 also.
frm day1 to tis day this mobile impresses me with so much features.
even in this time i wud happily recommend any1 2 buy tis mobile.
thr is no use in having quadcore processors...3gb ram in mobile phones.bcoz our batt tech cant withstand with tat much amount of processing power. so with the latest mobiles(s4,htc ONE, xperia Z)u cant even get 1day of moderate use of backup.
oke coming to my galaxy s2...
i hav used in stock condition for 6months. im a heavy user...so all probs came 2 me also

then i slowly bcam 2 understand the anatomy of tis mobile slowly..
ya...with tis amount of processing power u dont hav any coolant of fan in tis mobile 2 cool it.
then considering its slim waist line wat do u expect ur mobile 2 do...
v all knw tat android os itself is not optimised upto level.it haS lag.
my s2 started journey with gingerbread 2.3.5 with loads and loads of samsung bloatware.
so much of softwares which in any day v dont use it pratically. its useless in adding all that stuff. it keep on running in background draining ur battery.
so aftr 6months of usage...knowing tat i will looose my warranty..i decided 2 root my phone and unlock its full potential.i rooted it and flashed it using a custom rom.
wow...my s2 bcame more userfriendly and efficient.
custom roms are roms which is cooked with limited amount of softwares which v need in real life usage.
so with custom rom u can get the best out of ur mobile. no samsung bloatwares, no touchwhiz....
just feel the stock android experiance...s2 is lightning fast and battery friendly.
i tried many roms from XDA devolpers forums.
finally i hav foend the best for my galaxy s2 which siuts my usage also. SUPERNEXUS rom and AVATAR rom are best battery friendly roms. u can easily get 2-3days for backup in moderate use.
then abt screen
its the best i hav seen ever.
super amolded screen(480p) its enough for mobile screen in terms of size and resolution.
if v planning 2 buy an tv or computer monitor then v can look for FULL HD...
but for mobile full hd is utter waste....
u wont notice any difference in real life with ur naked eye.
its all marketting gimmicks.
camera
8mp autofocus camera with full hd video.
its not a dslr or compact camera replacement(my n8 wud easily replace my compact camera..NOT MY DSLR)it shoots stunning pictures for the size of camera sensor. daytime photography is real good.
low light photos looked a bit grainy..
night phots with flash is real kill for the money.
its a led flash bt lights the subject equal to xenon flash.
hd videos.
i dont prefer capturing full hd videos on tis mobile.
bcoz its field of view is very narrow then u cant zoom while recording.
so i would all day record videos in 720p HD videos. its really crisp and vivid.
processor
its 1.2 ghz dual core processor.
while buying i thought do i actually need tis much amount of processor in mobile phone....
but aftr 2 yr experience...
u r not always going 2 use ur processor in full speed.
currently thr is no application in market tat uses both cores at full speed. not even a single application(not games)
i mentioning abt applications. not HD games.
i hav played almost all HD games in tis monsters...everything worked flawlessly with a high loss of battery and over heating issues.
then i realised mobile phones or not gaming machines tat can withstand any amount of torture v do all.
so i stopped vigourous gaming in mobile.(i wud play occasionally). so as far as my concern it can play all latest hd games with ease. but if u complain abt batt and heating issues then stop gaming in mobiles.
browsing
samsung default browser is good. but i actually prefer opera. it has all v need in handy.
those who complain abt batt life pls understand...
during browsing ur screen in continously ON.
it means ur super amolded plus screen 480*800 pixels are continously power feeded to show ur content on screen.
so ur battery gets drained pretty quick.
nothing v can actually do.
bcoz amolded acreens consumes more battery than LCD screens.
comparing 2 LCD screen
but u hav superior colour depth ration
extreme sunlight viewing
wide viewing angles
vivid colurs
so stop complaning abt batt life in galaxy s2.
softs tat i found more usefull as my daily usage
browser-opera
watching videos- MX player
task manager-Advance task killer
battery saver- JUICE DEFENDER ULTIMATE(real software which saves battery)
file explorer-ES file explorer
titanium backup
ads free-it elminates all advertisement from ur softs and games
finally...if u r complaining abt samsung galaxy s2 lik
heating
low battery backup
low voice....
if s2's 1650mah lithium ion battery cant withstand
1.2ghz dual core processor
1 gb ram
8mp camera with led flash
480*800(480p) screen with 240ppi
then
how cum all latest mobile phones battery can withstand
quadcore or octa core processor
2 or 3 gb ram
13mp camera
last but not least
FULL HD screen(441 or 460 ppi)
battery technolgy is the same
lithium ion, lithium polymer....
then pls understand tat if ur s2 cant withstand one of real usage...all latest phones also wont also withstand ONE DAY REAL USAGE.
so dont blindly go for latest...
all companies just marketting thier products 2 sell
so dont believe all marketting gimmicks shown in TV commercials...

quad core octa core penta core hexa core processor
3gb or 5gb ram
in mobile phone...
wat v really need is a smartphone which has
5days battery backup(dont increase mah to 120000)just optimise ur o.s. then ur current battery can easily go for 3days for normal usage.
more internal storage wit reasonable price. (16gb is not enough)64 gb is way too costly
good camera with optical zoom and OIS
IP57 certicate mobile construction.
if we(users) demand only IP57 certified phones automatically companies will produce tat phones.
we hav the power to change
nokia was king of phones over a decade...
then slowly nokia dropped sales and other companies came in.
now samsung is king.
do u think tat company achived tat spot...
no...we(users) gav nokia a bumper hit.
now we(users) giving samsung a bumper in sales. we broke many records.
so if we demand wat v need....all companies will start 2 manifacture wat we need.
so togetherly we can change the world.

Samsung Galaxy S2 I9100 is best phone i ever had when it comes to specs and performance..OS is already updated frm gingerbread 2.3.5 to jelly bean 4.1.2..samsung s2 rules!!! :-)

i have learned to like sgsII compared to my other brand of mobile phone. But i noticed that there are only 80 characters when i do texting. How is that? I can't find any control button.
