mark, 23 Sep 2011Are You sure It's Sense UI 3.5? It doesn't looks like, the images of sense on the HTC Rhyme... moreno it's sense 3.6 android 4.0.3 bluetooth 3 that's what mine came out of the box with and the headphones retail separately for £89.99

5YCH081, 12 Oct 2011Fantastic phone! Got a question for the owners out there...the Beats Audio doesn't work over ... moreHTC bought 51% of Monster and just in case you don't know what that means THEY HAVE THE CONTROLLING SHARE AND IF YOU THINK THEY WILL LICENCE SAMSUNG ETC TO USE THEM YOUR INSANE

They have the most fashionable headphone company on the planet to use solely with their phones and for audiophiles that means HTC is the only choice! Sony can't even compete with it

The Sensation XL may have a bit bigger screen BUT IT IS ONLY 480X800 and the XE is 540X960 higher resolution on smaller screen = BETTER QUALITY! and the CPU is slower on XL

CONCLUSION THE XE IS BETTER BY FAR!

            Fantastic phone!
Got a question for the owners out there...the Beats Audio doesn't work over the speaker, but will it work for wireless Bluetooth headsets (instead of the plugin ones)?

It looks like the Beats Headset is really the only advantage this one has over the HTC Amaze. Especially since the Beats software will probably be quickly ported to other HTC phones (and probably other Androids, too).

I guess we'll find out Oct. 12 when the Amaze releases. It might end up being better music (XE) vs. better camera (Amaze). Either way, I'm definitely getting one of these two!

1730mAh battery is almost as much as 1800mAh Extended Battery from Mugen Power, without the need to pay additional extra cost for a bigger battery (cca $50-£40) - plus you get many other bonuses in XE version.

Seems like there's worth to pay £100 pound more compared to original Sensation - definitely the best phone for around £450 pounds (you can get original Sensation for £350 now, XE price will drop in a month-two).

Just a bit faster CPU and a new software??? Common HTC, u launched your flagship full 2 months after samsung and still u cannot do better than them??? The real upgrade would have been to bump up the ram to full gig and get rid of that death grip issue.

Beats brand is not well recognized in Audiophile Communities as they are overly-hyped for the common consumers and they are not on the level of hi-fidelity sound on their price-bracket...maybe if they change the earphone drivers and marked-down their prices, then the audiophile community may give them a chance

I am due to upgrade next week. I currently have htc desire but latest XE handset is quiet dissapointment. Mfruends sgs2 out if the box with 1.2ghz dual does better the 1.5ghz htc. Browsermark 56542 and sunspider 3083. I don't get whie tgey trying to fool the inner speakers are still the same. Only software. And earbugs that makes it better. Anyway I will go for a sgs2 with the very attractive deal. By the way anyone can suggestet decent earbugs for less the 120( beats are priced in carphonewharehouse)

Too bad HTC is still using a crappy BlueZ bluetooth stack so none of their new phones will phone book sync with cars older than 2009!

I have the Sensation there is mods with the XE firmware which i have flashed with runs great with the 1512MHz processor. Funny why they capped the processor for the sensation to 1.2GHz as it is rated for 1.5GHz. Sales? After all the XE is the exact same model with a teaked firmware. Too bad i don't have the red acents which looks nice but i an't get another sensation just for that and the headset which is way over priced.

Gsmarena said: "We were quite disappointed to find out that the Beats technology is purely software-based - there's no special audio hardware on the inside"
What a pitty, what a shame. Again a marketing gimmick to sell the same weak product with another colours, but with a bigger price because of the earbuds dr.DRE with classic 8 mm drivers. They better provide Sony earbuds with 14 mm or 16 mm drivers, and will should be a better sound than useless dr.DRE overpriced crap. And as Nokia's "x and xpress music", the internal headphones amplifier remains the same as the normal device wich is derivated from. No change in power output. IPHONE4 IS THE KING OF BLASTING SOUND THROUGH HEADPHONES JACK. And Nokia n91 was as iphone4 a superb device for music maniacs

To bad is the same mid-range display from the original Sensation. I mean the resolution is great but the contrast is average.

This sounds like a BAMF phone, but theres something better in the pipes, coming out in a few hours/a day. A 345ppi, 1.5 duel core GHz monster, with 4G LTE and a gig of RAM. A true ground breaker in terms of specs, with Sense 3.5 pre installed with Gingerbread, and ICE comming later this month and then Sense 4.0/new Sense UI for the already revamped UI of ICS, the new iPhone will need the A6 to compare!

So it's just a pair of mid-range headphones with a fancy equalizer? I wouldn't even bother reading if it wasn't for the "company's first dip into the audiophile pool" quote on the first paragraph of the preview.
