WTF...they created a stunner, why the hell they are killing it..........
i thinkk app is for fancy only.. i look for web browsing, good talk time, mail, connectivity etc apps should be productive no point having 1 mil+ java/shortcut type apps hehe
The MeeGo experience is ahead of every other mobile OS at the moment. I really hope Nokia aggressively drives this experience to WP8 and Meltemi.
Otherwise we may end up calling Swipe an elegant gesture from a more civilized time ;)
3500 more improvements coming to Nokia N9 on coming update says Kontorri from Meego Nokia team. so why not buy it already. http://mynokiablog.com/2011/10...-old-to-use/
this is a good phone but if you look at the price iphone 4 and 4s look like waayyyy better options.......nokia needs a way lot improvement ..........
ps : i'm no apple fan(hater actually)
after i saw great reviews and i saw a lot of nokia n9 videos i can say it is great beautifull os , now android os looking like beta :-) huh sorry google
AnonD-252, 15 Oct 2011I was very intrested in N9, and even considerd the problems of cutting my standard sim into a ... moreNokia staff has confirmed that they are working on enabeling the FM transmitter and there is already an app that allows you to use it.
Flash 11 isn't up to Nokia but Adobe.
"And even the swiping gesture to move to the homescreen have all the potential problems i did fear it would have where browsing in the gallery or playing a game this swiping gesture unintentionally can move you to the homescreen!"
I havn't had any problems with that at all in fact most games I have tried disable Swipe when you are playing.
if only they continue on Meego... I would definitely buy this phone.. but i have to change my mind and head for the Nokia 800. but theres something bugging me.. why did they gave up on Meego. I mean the software looks really light and its really unique! i hope the CEO would rethink about this.
AnonD-2663, 15 Oct 2011I didn't expect anything less from the (android) fanboy reviewers here at gsm arena. Saying... moreYeah the last part of the review doesn't seem to jibe with the rest. They built it up so much only to put it down in the end. If this is a "Once in a Lifetime" smartphone then price shouldn't matter at all imo.
Contrary to the review the N9 Email app does support search.
Scroll to the top of the list of messages, then scroll over the top to pull down the search bar.
Please update the review to correct this error.
Jon (Swe), 15 Oct 2011How about batterylife?
Ok, videoplayback... but people want other numbers, as well.Heavy users=1 day
Moderate users= 1.5 to 2 days
So far, the best I've heard is 2.5 days, light user with push emails, FB, twitter
Now onwards if u buy a Nokia smartphone; u probably won't regret.
Nokia has learnt 4rm their past mistakes & their upcoming phones prove it. Nokia 603, 701, 500 etc. they r all affordable wid 1GHZ processor & plenty of 512MB RAM & reborn Symbian os.. the Belle.
I love Nokia bcoz it has innovation.
All smartphones r unique & gorgeous in design. like X7, E7, N8, N9.. all r unique.
unlike samsung & others.. their all smartphone more or less look same.
Galaxy s2, galaxy s, galaxy note.. , optimus2..
where z d innovation? they all copy gorgeous iphones.
only thing lacking in nokia was an os.. but now that is fulfilled in terms of windows & symbian belle!
well its another nokia. guess what another os. well the theory is there looks nice. but why did they not use windows mobile.
oh just another reason why i will keep my super dooper iphone 4.
MeeGo looks like a great OS. The build of this phone is exquisite as well and the phone operates without any lag whatsoever. From the looks of the video, it performs better than even my dual core LG G2x (which sometimes lags). I like Android a lot but I definitely think the MeeGo os is much more promising. I was thinking of getting the Galaxy S2, but the screen is just too big (here in the states) if I wanted to carry a tablet around, I would. I think the N9 is the perfect size and it pretty much covers everything I could want.
AnonD-252, 15 Oct 2011I was very intrested in N9, and even considerd the problems of cutting my standard sim into a ... moreCut sim also so hard, just buy a cheap prepaid, then ask the shop to cut it. They also have the plastic sim holder thingy.
FM radio app, developer is working on it, I think I saw the unofficial version. THe N900 also didnt come with fm radio app, but that didnt stop those interested to buy it. 720p, there's VLC player(ready to be downloaded).
Wow, you fingers must be big or sthing, so far I didnt accidently close an app, I have to purposely swipe it down, then only it close.
Anyway, since you sooooooo worried on all this issues, then dont buy, keep enjoying your S2, lol. You dont have to worry it competes with S2 or Iphone, they didnt make many units, the 64GB sold out
AnonD-252, 15 Oct 2011I was very intrested in N9, and even considerd the problems of cutting my standard sim into a ... moreIf you are an apple fanboy then, iphone don't have flash,fm radio, tabbed browsing like N9 and N9 have hardware for fm radio and fm transmitter. One more thing it has revolutionary nfc which iphone doesn't support.
In case if you are galaxy fan then, here is the reality check,
no text reflow in GS2
no swipe os like N9
no good design like n9
no virus free os like n9
crap battery life of Galaxy
no true multitasking like n9
what about nfc
Also if GSMarena says that even withour text reflow browsing is very pleasurable, then who will trust your fanboyism.afterall GSMarena never supported Nokia, but N9 compells themto write good things about a nokia phone.
The N9 uses the same A8 CPU, SGX530 GPU, and 3630 chipset as the Optimus Black but wants you to pay the same price as the Galaxy S2. This is why the N9 will fail.
Nobody ever said it's a bad phone. It's just not a good phone for its price range.
Wait 2 months, I predict the price will drop to Galaxy S level.
