Anonymous, 22 Oct 2011iOS multitasking is great. It doesn't let apps eat battery in background like Android does.Yup, because android really does multitasking, that is doing several tasks at the same time. Does your iPhone do that? Nope.. no wonder it does save some battery life.. if you still don't believe me, read again the review.. what does it says about multitasking in iPhones?
So the advantage of your iPhone: less-than-real multitasking but better battery life
Advantage of the droid: real multitasking that sacrifice some battery life
And even laptop gets drained if you do multitasking a lot.. so battery life is expected to be less WHEN you do multitasking..
Other than that, although i am an android user, sometimes i am wondering why this site is like Apple vs Samsung vs the rest of the players..
And in samsung reviews, the iPhone fanboys always say that GSMArena is biased towards Samsung nowadays, but in iPhone review, the Samsung fanboys say it is biased towards Apple..
I use android, but want the iPod touch so bad, just for the sake of playing games.. i have my desire S for everything else.. i just don't want to waste my battery playing games in my phone.. i wanna keep it running the whole day for the sake of communication..
beckon, 24 Oct 2011It doesn't matter where Apple's getting all the components in making their products. It always... moreIt's not that they always come up with great products.. more like they always can gather a group of great products and make them work well with their softwares..
gettothepoint, 01 Nov 2011lol, you guys. Iphone4s OBVIOUSLY best phone going....keep trying to deny it in your pety ways... moreYes, it is not the same quality.. i definitely agree with you! The apple shatters when dropped for the first time.. i definitely agree with you regarding its quality.. well done, fanboy! Oh, no, i am not using samsung.. i have a phone with aluminum casing and gorilla glass, even sturdier than sgs2.. make a guess yourself, fanboy!
Anonymous, 01 Nov 2011lol moto razr is allready better than sg2 and ip4shmmm...yer motorola :S lol
lol, you guys. Iphone4s OBVIOUSLY best phone going....keep trying to deny it in your pety ways, but look at it! its mint! ok, gs2 is also nice, but not to the same quality as apple. FULLSTOP
This is total honesty, iphone rocks when it comes to graphics and thats due to its high resolution screen but being honest a lot of android devices beat iphone in a lot of things
while iphone beats them in graphics only. True multitasking, bluetooth transfers, micro sd slot and much more belong to android devices now.
The reason iphone gets its high sales records is because of its price, people like being seen as wealthy studs. Its the same as a person buying a complete ugly Dolce&Gabban hand bag over other beautiful brands because it is expensive.
Surely developer would run to create apps for apple since they know they can place a tripled price for their software on AppStore. Seriously iphone 4s doesn't beat sgs2 at all,
it has updated things that have been long known by samsung fans, camera quick go on the lock screen, a dual core cpu, Siri, they just put up a nice name to fool you, sgs2 does well too in voice commands.
This has been known long in android. If we were both given 300 euros and u buy an iphone while i go for a sgs2, ur goin 2 use up a lot of money buying the phone and also sum apps 4 it, while i use less. Worse part i can't even send u any file i have through bluetooth or usb, which means we have to stick to using money in networks. If the galaxy s3 comes with the resolution thats the same as iphone but with a bigger screen, would iphone have any chance over samsung while it still lacks a lot of things now...we judge a smartphone about the things it does that are same as using a computer not the price or the brand name, it does nt support flash playback in its browser. This are things they will update later and call the iphone 5. I respect the iphones retina display, easy crisp iOS but trully speaking iphone doesn't rock when it comes to features we should find in a smartphone, it still lacks a lot of things and very expesive....
I used firefox on Sunspider and had score 1425,6
and 115258 score on Browsermark whit my SGS2
so its not like GSM arena says but mybe they just test stock browser wich sucks.
Just looking at the cons on this page, it automatically wants you to get another phone ASAP.Poor result from Apple, saying that, lets see what they do with the iPhone 5.
Mpokolis, 29 Oct 2011The biggest drawback of iPhone 4S is the display:
1) Too small for such a premium device.
2)... moreHey, I really dont think the pixel density is wasted. If you look at a screen like the SGS2 and thre iPhone 4S next to each other, you will see just how much difference it makes. The iP4 is twice as sharp.
The SGS2 does howver have better contrast, which makes movies look awesome. (does not matter much on simple app navigation menus)
Without doubt the 4S is the leader nowdays on smartphones martket. The impressive built quality, hardware and iOS makes it very attractive; but, there are minuses ofcourse. Why Apple didnt let us to choose video resolution or photo size? Like secondary camera intoduction on 4, these options would really be needed in the future to compete on te market. Why we should wait 2-3 generations so that we can have these kind of options, I think SALES are speaking by themselfes.
The biggest drawback of iPhone 4S is the display:
1) Too small for such a premium device.
2) Too undersaturated. Washed out colors. Compare it with almost every other high end device (not only vs AMOLED)
What is the purpose of so many pixels? Extreme pixel density in such a small display seems ridiculous.
novino, 29 Oct 2011i think the best phone right now is the GALAXY S2 no other phone comes close, more over i feel... moreForget even iPhone, but SGS2 is already beaten by Razr. Samsung fans are truly in denial.
i think the best phone right now is the GALAXY S2 no other phone comes close, more over i feel apple were not able to meet their deadline for releasing a new i phone so they have done a half heart attempt
Udit, 26 Oct 2011I am an Android user, and I swear by all those customizations and power available to me. But A... moreIt really isnt all about benchmarks. I still have my iPhone 4S sitting in its box - running an SGS2 - and I gotta say with the SPB Shell App for the SGS2, running the android cell live wallpaper- it simply is more fun to look at as well.
I, believe it or not, am on OPTUS in Australia with an overseas model SGS2, (got it early) and I am running XBOX live gears of war 3 off the phone!! Its crazy. Just download a data usuage meter for free on android and game on!! sooo good!!
As the current owner of a HTC HD2 (running android 2.3.4) and an iPad2 i'd like to think I am unbiased amongst the legions of android addicts and iPhone fanboys who try to score points over each other on GSM Arena.
However I think the iPhone 4S was pretty unbiased and whilst I wish there had been more info on it's camera capabilities (I.e. low light performance, capture of fast moving images, etc) and battery life (there are reports many are unable charge their phones above 92% or 94%) the article had a lot to cover and managed to pack in a lot of information in it's 11 pages.
The only question now is whether I replace my HD2 with the 4S or wait for the next Samsung Galaxy handset..?! Either way I'll be seeking advice from GSM Arena... as will the rest of you
I am an Android user, and I swear by all those customizations and power available to me. But Android is a resource hog and that is a fact. If iOS has been optimized to work fluidly with 512 MB of RAM, why is that a problem to you guys? Not Apple's fault that they decided to make their OS good. If Apple has a good camera, then why are Android and Nokia fanboys whining? Not Apple's fault. GSMArena is run by humans, humans have views and opinions. iPhone appealed to them, and they said so, why do the Android users need to get so upset about it? Why not make a good Android phone then to get good reviews? GS2 was a great phone and people agreed with it. It had some faults and they were highlighted.
GSMArena clearly mentions that iPhone 4S is not for iPhone 4 owners, but for others, and that was Apple's aim too. Why are you whining about it then? Some people prefer a small screen. Some people prefer that they should feel the weight of their phone in the pocket, so that they can be aware if it is stolen in a crowded place. I know I can do without a big screen after using O1 for almost a year now. So I don't see why people are cribbing so much about it. For Android users it's all about benchmarks and numbers and high clocks on processors. For Apple users, it obviously isn't. Why can't people make peace with that?
I thought the review was well balanced. Most people are surprised with iphone 4s hardware performance but being handcuffed to iTunes etc in particular turns off a large market, and the major reason for Android's success. Apple has long been a leader but will be a follower if they continue to turn off a market segment. Sure sales are great, and the phone is better than before, but is it really enough. Too little too late? Android still needs some work, so will Microsoft take up the challenge. Perhaps Nokia's punt will prove to be correct and against market perception. Perhaps they are doing an early Apple.
