i had a hard time typing on qwerty phones but to my surprise, typing messages with Galaxy W was easy..
the difference was..
the qwerty touchpad is indented per layer like in keyboard, which in other qwerty phones (i.e. nokia, sony) are NOT.. i mean, the buttons are aligned.. :) cheers! :D
gregor, 08 Dec 2011Baterry Life whorse !off course because is android xD
can we survive if use android phone?? we all know android phone is battery killer :/
But wait.
There is yet another Samsung coming.
And if you wait a another week, yet another Samsung.
Hell just buy the iPhone and be done with it.
I am totally miffed with the performance or lack thereof with the Samsung Note.
We are getting sucked in with these useless gadgets.
Which phone should i go for: xperia neo v, samsung nexus s or galaxy w?
yeah..the review is biased to amoled screen.
this phone has the best pixel density.it's better than galaxy S if you compare it side by side.
No Corning Gorilla Glass display?
hello ppl... I read almost all the reviews...
This phone has an LED Flash which makes it better than S+...
Comparing it with Samsung Ace??? Insane! 1.4GHz processor... Ace never ever can come near that speed!!
SE Ray is the best competitor for this phone as Ray has 8MP and scratch resistant glass... But SE Android phone as far as i know are not as stable as Samsung!
The only confusion is whether this phone will get Android v4.0! But considering the fact that this mobile is released only in Oct-2011 and as it has greater processing speeds, the probability of ICS in SW is high... Anyways fingers crossed :P
So SW is definitely a good choice! In a nutshell, CHEAP AND BEST...
P.S. I just typed what i felt... and the opinions vary from person to person. No offence :)
I second to Gregor, the battery of this handset won't last you a day! I've been using this phone for 9 days now and the average battery life is only 14hrs. See my log below:

My usage is:

12/5: SMS (~12 messages)
12/6: Wifi browsing (30mins), SMS (~20 messages), games (45mins), call (20mins), GPS (15mins)
12/7: Wifi browsing (40 mins), SMS (~15 messages), games (30 mins), call (15mins), camera (5mins)
12/8: SMS (~12 messages)
12/9: Wifi browsing (30 mins), SMS (14 messages), games (1hr)
12/10: Music (30 mins), video (30mins), Wifi browsing (30 mins), SMS (17 messages), games (1hr), call (10 mins)
12/11: games (1hr), wifi browsing (1hr), SMS (22 messages), call (5mins)
With this, I'm only a moderate user of this phone but still battery doesn't last, which is quite disappointing, lasting for atleast a day would have been satisfactory enough. Now, i'll have to buy a spare battery so I can finish the day.
Bob, 09 Dec 2011But it has a slower 1GHZ processor , no touchwiz 4.0 game hub and social hubSony Ericsson's software is at least equal to touchwiz, if not better in some respects.
The processors aren't so different - essentially an overclocked version of the same chip (which probably guzzles more battery juice at those higher clock rates). ... anyway, what's the use of a fast processor when it takes an age to input text!
How can they say that no shutter key is a diadvantage.
Touch focus and a gentle touch to capture photos is much better.
A physical shutter key is obsolete and only contributes to camera shake and blurred photos.
Disappointing conclusion to a poor review. This phone has one of the brightest and sharpest LCD displays on the market. I was overwhelmed by the clarity of the screen when I first got mine. GSMARENA's bias towards AMOLEDS makes this phone seem not worth it but I've had one for a month and trust me its more than worth it. Also the S Plus cost similar to the Galaxy W because it was released many months ago and seen a big cut in price. And it lacks something as basic as a flash for the camera which wasnt mentiond. Also this phone DOES have a light sensor, its so obvious beside the earpiece just that Samsung somehow left it out of the sofware build but it'll certainly be fixed along the line. Waited along time for this review but it focused on very poor comparisons and was really disappointing. You can do better GSMArena! Even Phone Arena acknowledged this phone has a brilliant screen and ur better than them!
to gsmarena, can you pleaae have battery test on this phone and endurance rating. Thank you.

Will it update ice creem sandwich 4.0 lick xperia neo v
Why is a plastic construction a disadvantage? High end plastics are strong and light, the ideal combination for a phone.
What would be an alternative? Metals like aluminum or titanium? Ceramics?
