What bothers me the most is that when the Atrix was released, no one really complained about companies such as Samsung or HTC not releasing it first...now people are complaining that Sony is bringing up a very powerful device and somehow claim its outdated :/

I can tell that both Samsung's and HTC's mid range phones will be running single cores...yet, no one says anything about it

In theory, that's supposed to be true, right? Anyway, there were many skeptics when the dual core running droids were first launched but later, they mainstreamed just fine.

I think quads will go the same route.

Regarding the PS Vita- it might be cause it's a pioneer. The LG Optimus 2X was also one and it had poor battery life, right? The next wave of dual core droids have much better battery life. Maybe that's what would happen with quads too.

Btw, my lap runs a dual core Intel too!!- the only difference's that it's an i5 and it can run almost all the new games with ease (although it's the gpu that makes it possible- it's not entirely the cpu's power that matters in gaming).

My laptop somehow which is an intel core2duo 2.2 GHZ can run World of Warcraft and Battle Field BC2...

Quad Core just drains the battery of the phone, and you really won't need one. If games such as uncharted or call of duty somehow in a magical way are released for smartphones and somehow require quad core processors, I won't even think of buying it considering that the battery will turn into small pieces...Proof? PS Vita's battery is 2300MAH and lasts about 4 hours. And again, that's without functions such as GPS, applications running in the background, Super AMOLED + Screens and much more.

I think Dual Core phones are awesome for now, if you want an ultimate portable gaming device for a good amount of money that has a lot of options and a good library of games, just buy a PS Vita.

So what do we all reckon here?

Are these their top 'mid-range' phones?

Are we going to see something that competes with HTC / Sammy's (and likely Moto's) quad-core monsters coming out in Summer?

Xperia S and ion will have GB in the demo models. Available in Q1 & Q2 and is upgradable to ICS maybe on its final model. To ICS fans, dont be disappointed because its GB. It is still a demo model so STFU. IT WILL BE UPGRADED
Video in the link includes new SONY products.

You can see the disclaimer: Use of "Sony" brand subject to regulatory approval. Since those are being developed long before Sony and Ericsson split up, it's natural there are prototypes with both logos. Eventually, when the two Xperia are released, they will be just Sony.

P.S. In case you didn't hear Sony has bought Ericsson's share in Sony Ericsson and all 2012+ phones will be released as Sony's only.

The Sony Xperia Ion has a MicroSD-card Expansion slot. Please update your data about this important feature. Thanks!
