AnonD-41837, 11 Feb 2012You don't know what you're talking about, meamo is a great platform. If its that good, why is it dead
AnonD-24476, 11 Feb 2012Agree with the review.. I knew this before going for Lumia that samsung's omnia has front faci... moreCan you please post the source of your analysis, 300 charges and battery dying
My Mom has been using a Samsung soul u800 for the past 3 years, and its battery back up its still 3 days with frequent calls
And I sold my Samsung champ to a colleague which was already a year old , he has been using it for almost 6 months, and he says the battery lasts for 4 to 7 days, depending on his usage
signal reception quality and voice clarity of sony ericsson is much much better than nokia.i have tested it.sony is meant for quality.only difference their prices are higher.
whats the piont of this battle?this is obvious that samsung phone is winner
Guys lets face it, Samsung is cabale of producing products at a very cheaper price than that of Nokia,Apple or HTC.. Only LG can compete with samsung but upto certain limits only. Reason:
1. Samsung is not just a mobile phone company, its worlds biggest consumer electronics company having a wide product portfolio.
2.Samsung since its already into LCD/LED displays(TV,Monitors,& now cellphone screens) it has a good expertise & thats y even Apple procures displays from samsung.
3.Because samsung manufacturs displays in bulk ( for its own products & for companies like Apple) it has achieved economics of scale wrt competitors, ie Cost of manufacturing per product is less.
4.Thats the reason samsung manages to offer AMOLED displays even in entry level smartphones.
But Nokia is the oldest company who is known for making cell phones, so it has good expertise in Signal reception, Voice clarity, Durability(stable build), Designs & Data transfer.
I have used Samsung phones & still have them but samsung phones doesn match Nokia in Signal reception, Nokia manages to catch atleast 10% of signal where sammy phones show 0%, Samsung phones lack in data transfer technology, Just read the spec sheet Samsung still uses the decade old CLASS 12 EDGE where as Nokia has now moved to EDGE CLASS 33.

Now that's what I call loyalty
Apple fan boys can learn a thing or two from you
Agree with the review.. I knew this before going for Lumia that samsung's omnia has front facing camera, Amoled screen etc but still i went for Lumia 710 because i find Nokia's phones very durable & hardy compared to samsungs. Though battery of samsung omnia is 200MAh more than Lumia 710 samsung batteries have a short life span, 300 charges & battery is gone. Nokia is now fully committed to Windows & samsung is kind of Android, so im assured that I get 100% from windows with Nokia,
A good research and tests on all test parameters. I feel a good review given by GSMarena. I think no other site gives as much details and comparison.
The lumina series have two good things for future
1. VOICE GUIDED SATELITE NAVIGATION 2.
2. LONG TERM MICROSOFT PARTNERSHIP
For long term Nokia is unable to understand the feeling and needs of people. So not able to launch innovative apps/devices. In his series of WP they lack to provide video calling front camera.
I do not think it costs more or make a dent their design.
On the base of their belief in people it may grow in future.
In this review few things remain unanswerable.
1. What about the performance of document editing and viewing?
2. What type of files they support in document and in multimedia?
3. DOES THEY SUPPROT PDF READING?
4. Does they support MOTION GAMING ?
5. A part from bing map does they SUPPORT GOOGLE MAP ?
6. A -GPS will use which map ?
7. Does any update or application will enable blutooth / wifi for file sharing among mobiles ?
8. Recently lumina have software update but omniaW have not why
9. The most important thing is that does they will get Window 8 Or Tango Update In Future?
I ANY ONE WHO CAN ANSWER THESE QUESTIONS PLEASE MAIL ME at email@example.com
Hmmm - Interesting.
But do they make and receive a phone call - was not even discussed.
Both are good mobiles, but which has the best reception, sound, and clarity, both ends of the call.
Why just concentrate on screen, video, and camera, and by implication, the battery.
Believe it or not, some mobiles do have better reception than others, and frankly that is important to know.
You can buy a good digital camera anyware.
Samsung I8350 Omnia W, and every WP7-phone, can install the "hacked" Free lifetime Nokia Drive navigation and Nokia Music and Nokia Maps, so there is nothing unique about any Nokia-WP7 because they are identical, identical, to any other WP7-phone! Nokia said that they did not choose Android because they did not want to become just another Android, but now they are "just another" WP7! With Android Nokia could easily have added their N9 Harmattan skin, user-interface, but on Microsofts WP7 Nokia still have not been able/allowed to add any customization at all!
Please prepare a vs review between samsung galaxy y, motorola fire and a cheap lg android phone.
Oh nokia fan cool down it is the best site for mobile reveiws .they never use the word i rather they use we which shows that it is the whole team. And by the way they at the end also favored lumia.they are practical and only favour the winner. Like they favored nokia n9.
Lumia 710 looks so ugly look that rounded fatty body and joined buttons. at least they have crafted it like lumia 800.
nokia fanboys are using the word "biased" who know that nokia lumia 710 has been defeated in this review, but they dont want accept it.omnia w is much better than lumia 710.i have used both the phones.
there is a good difference in price lumia 710 cost only 15000 and ominia w cost 18500.lumia 710 competition is nokia own 603,samsung galaxy ace, sony live walkman.while omnia w competes against biggies like xperia neo,lg optimus black, samsung galaxy w,and galaxy sl.
PRICE ALSO MAKES A MAJOR PURCHASING FACTOR.
Very poor battery for internet.we can't understand whether net is active or not.very complicated for lay person to handle.
I'm planning on buying omnia w, but since microsoft and nokia become partners, i'm afraid microsoft future updates might offer something in nokia devices that other manufacturers(samsung, htc) doesn't have.
Or is it microsoft still gonna treat all manufacturers the same? Microsoft even provides money to nokia. What do u guys think?
