I think it was not considered because it was launched in 2012 and they only considered 2011 phones. and I think for the same reason 4gs was not in nomines.

AFAIK, this is not a feature built into Android, so the front camera is meant for Data communication such as Skype, Gtalk and others
The reason why Samsung has them on the Galaxy phones with FFC (though I think not all of them) is because they went the extra mile for that extra feature for their version of Android

The industry tends to take items to be presented to the customer at its face value (aka numbers game), so the bigger the numbers, the better

And if you compare both at 100% crop, the Xperia S got a lot more color noise and less fine detail. Can't compare with the N8.

After scribbling the comments here, I found out that Sony Xperia S smokes out Galaxy Nexus and Moto Razr. Im posting the youtube url posted earlier by other comments.
Gingerbread Xperia S versus ICS nexus.
Sony software engineers really know how to bring out the power of the hardware and the software. It scored highest among the three. What more if ICS is rolled out to this phone.

Its expected that touch screen devices with high resolution will consume more power than low res ones.
hkr, 03 Mar 2012did sammy's galaxy ace have any improvement in battery with even lower resolutioon?? LOL NO! ... moreTests even here on GSMArena have actually proven that Androids do NOT have worse batterylife than Symbian or WP7 or N9/MeeGo! Higher screen resolution drains battery more than lower resolution, and watching streaming Adobe Flash 11 movies drain any battery! Symbians are so very boring to use and that is the real reason why some are fooled to think Symbians have long batterylife, they simply do not use them and any unused phone have "long" batterylife! (My old outdated N97 mini have worse batterylife than any Android I have ever used even thogh N97 mini is a Symbian with a very slow cpu!)
N8 pictures are clearly darker. I might get this phone. Is pretty cool and Sony will launch a movie market only for its devices.
Nice design, bad ui and lack of costumer service in my town
still prefer nokia then
The specifications seem good but I just don't like the design. Seems really feminine like to me...
TC, 03 Mar 2012With only 640x360 screen it is easy to be "batteryefficient"!did sammy's galaxy ace have any improvement in battery with even lower resolutioon?? LOL NO!
Dont fool around man
