Samsung got their basics wrong this time: ugly, pentile, even bigger than s2 (s2 was borderline IMHO). Thanks but no thanks, I will stick with my s2 for now.

Wen Apple released iphone 4S wat was the diff??? Siri & screen, Apple shares fell bcos people wer disappointed then Steve Job dies and people troop out to buy it! Samsung's upgrade from SII to SIII is far better than Apple's and yet some of you guys so sheepishly (out of over-bloated egos) deny the obvious. It just goes to show that people buy things to show off as a status symbol not bcos of wat it can do (purpose)

Ugly??? Why??? What is it with the "design" anyway? A phone is a phone, a practical, usefull device, not a piece of art or a status symbol.
Some people have complained about the size. Please compare it with the One X - 2,2mm longer, 0,7mm wider, 0,3mm thinner, 3 grams heavier. I haven't read too many complaints regarding Ons X's size though...
Regarding S3 gizmos: if you don't like them, don't use them. Some of those might actually be very usefull (e.g. S-Voice). On the other hand, all of us are adding tons of apps to our phones in order to make them easier to use - why do we complaint if Samsung has added those from the outset?
The real problem here is that hype about the S3 was so big and strong that at the end, when the phone was actually revealed, not all expectations were fullfilled, however unrealistic they might have been. I think the main culprit here is Samsung itself, not announcing the phone until the unveiling event, thus increasing the rumors and expectations.
All in all, until anyone of us actually has the phone in hand and plays with it, we won't be able to make any qualified opinion, nor to compare it with competitors (especially the One X).

After watching the live stream last night...
I was initially disappointed with the design..
But what you have to realise is...
In order to produce a handset with such a large screen (smothered in gorilla glass 2 no less) - you have to ensure that the handset remains light enough to pocket...
Imagine building a phone that size out of glass and metal like the iphone 4? it would be SO heavy...
And I think the design reminds me of the pebble handset (was it RIM a few years ago?) that looked really nice...
I think screenshots of the GS3 do look very uninspiring, but I think, with a flip cover and seeing the phone in flesh (blue or white - that is the question?) I reckon it's going to be a slick looking phone...
I'm warming to this phone more... the expandable memory is a real killer feature (it shouldn't be, but as every other manufacturer removed it - it's now unique) - the removable battery (I'm sure a larger one will pop up in due course making this even better value) - alongside wireless charging, etc.
I think I may be tempted to get this in a few months, once the 64gb (yes, 64gb!) version drops in price a bit... loving the idea of burst shot... I used to take two photos of people all the time "just one more in case that first one comes out rubbish" - hopefully a thing of the past!!
It was impossible for Sammy to leap as far as they did between GS1 and GS2 - because specs have levelled out a bit... but... with all these added features (as long as they work, I'll wait for reviews) - I think this is going to be one hell of a phone to beat... Remember... you're likely to get your next phone on a 2 year (or 18 month) contract - getting this one ensures future-proofing for that period of time (and will mean you'll be ready for the GS5!)

HTC ONE X is going to be this year android winner, overall iPhone is going to be biggest winner, if Apple do 4" iPhone 5 it's going to sell tens of millions.

Nowadays, high-end phones are all competitive in terms of speed, they features dual core chips or quad core and benchmarks hardly differs from one to another, at least when it comes to daily tasks...
What differentiate a high-end phone for the other is the design, the build quality and the uniqueness.
And it is here that the galaxy s3 fails...
For me its a big disappointement...

Impressed with all the features except for these few:
1.4.8" is a very big for man's pocket.
2.I couldn't help saying this but the design is like a bigger version of nokia C7. Plasticky look(AGAIN!!!)
3.expecting a better camera.

Iphone user, 04 May 2012I used to use Samsung for my last few phones, but the problem is they treat their customers ba... moredude you clearly have never used and S2... i have never had it freeze or slow done ever... and it is more superior on gingerbread than an iphone 4S... On ICS S2 is a Beast... super efficient and iPhone users some my friends want my S2...

I used to use Samsung for my last few phones, but the problem is they treat their customers badly e.g. they will have a high end phone today (e.g. Galaxy S1 or Wave1) and bring out a new model in 7 months time and not update the old software or take forever to update the software even like Galaxy S2 and ICS. Iphone at least updates regularly and every phone and country gets the updates on the same day! The Pros are S3 has a big screen very powerful etc. it seems like S3 is a very good phone! BUT I have never had the iphone 4s freeze or slow down once even with many apps open or browsing large websites so the 4s is fast enough to do everything anyone could ever want. I also like having the 4s in my pocket as it is not huge, if I wanted a huge phone I would get a brick 1990s Nokia or Galaxy note! I will stick with Iphone for now it just works smoothly, quickly and well with whatever it does!
