Guys you have done some 10 pages of review and still not picked a winner. Android was a winner even before these phones were released so no points to your review for declaring android as the winner. When a normal guy is looking to buy something, he wants decisions - even though try may be biased by the pre-disposition of the reviewer but without a clear cut winner, the review is wasted. Let me ask you - if the reviewer's life depended on it, which phone would he choose ( damn the bias, pwrsonal taste etc)??
Compare the S3 to the AT&T One X or the HTC XL. What we really need to know is how it holds up against the Krait SoC. Engadget review suggests that the Krait is mostly faster and very power efficient too.
I still think despite all of this the real surprise here is the performance of the HTC one S over both the One X and the SIII it kept up and beat the two beasts in a fair share of the tests which is amazing in my opinion, goes to show that quad cores are not as powerful as they are hyped up to be, all in all I do think the SIII is the better all round performer and htc really screwed up with the non expand able storage thing while samsung sought to out smart them in that department by not only giving expand able storage but doubling the native internal storage of its flag ship device, well done to samsung and as a final remark they should really team up and put the internals of the SIII into a One xs body, that would the the predalien, the smart phone to end all smartphones
its true that htc cud hav given user replaceable battery or micro sd card slot now com on is it really impossible to use polycarbonate body to do that ??? i dont think so did that cause htc wants to save this features for there future phones and fool htc fans for paying them extra money its quite simple but thats lame htc ,look at sammy they do not compromise or do not do politics they are always fully equiped with everything which is equel to more sales than any other phone ,simple.......come on htc grow up ppl are not fools like u think......i have sgs2 and will go for sgs3 ..with proud..
Bohannon67, 12 May 2012Knew I was right to hold off buying the One X until the S3 dropped. S3 clear winner here, but ... moreWhy go 32 when you could have 64gb :D. I agree with everything you said. Well worth the wait!
Knew I was right to hold off buying the One X until the S3 dropped. S3 clear winner here, but also credit due to HTC. As GSMARENA says, every champ needs a strong challenger to keep their own game sharp.
My only slight dilemma now is whether to buy the 16gb GS3 on release or wait for the 32gb in a months time when Vodafone exclusivity ends.
Where would I find the battery comparisons for the One X, GS3, One S and Xperia S all in the same table?
Is they anywhere on this site where we see a summary of battery tests across all phones tested?
I can't find where.
I am glad you mentioned the screen stay thing. I think that is an interesting feature and I also agree that most of the other features are pointless.
I used a One X today and the task manager was the same as Gingerbread. Made we wonder if that was the doing of Telecom. The One X does look nice but in the end imo it's same as the S3 as they are low end phones as they fail badly on the size to functionality scale.
Well we clearly saw the tests. the clear winner in every test was SGS3. The reviewer didn't gave the prize to S3 because they respect both companies. But to be fair and true to reality, Samsung Galaxy S3 has almost 60% lead over HTC ONE X in every department. Will surely buy SGS3....
One XL (one X at&t) makes it even less clear -cut. It has better battery life, better performance in lot of tests and very clean audio output.
Btw i am pretty sure these cool software gizmos from siii will be ported to htc custom roms in no time ;)
Ok, guys and gals let's balance this out, looks are not everything its about function and durability..the winner is the S3, HTC have a great mobile but they cut corners, no changeable battery, poor battery life and no SD slot..come on, why they trying to be an Apple clone..leave that to the clones who follow apple..so S3 wins it only just, shame they didn't give a 2gb ram...
I don't know why alot are whining over S3's design, I say it looks awesome, the True beauty is on the screen not on the casing.
And I'm very happy with this fair comparison of S3 and One X. I always thought the reason S3 won me over cause of the replaceable battery and micro SD upto 64GB. That's huge for me. Plus I prefer AMOLED deep black than a colorful LCD2. One X doesn't look that great in my opinion. Sense is also ugly and eats too much processor.
I can't wait to have Samsung Galaxy S3.
Prototype, 12 May 2012If nVidia update its tegra 3 driver it will be better than Exynos so i like htc .If if if .... thats always the case
weird that the review claim in the conclusion that samsung made the better camera while the camera review part states otherwise (well except the video department!), secondly how can X one have gorilla glass and yet have a fragile screen to the level of iphone 4/4s? (check the video for the drop test!) in other department seems like samsung are winner here, especially audio and battery life,, i wonder if this year we may see samsung's flagship more expenssive than that of HTC!
yeah, so did alien beat the crap out of predator or what, who's the alien and who's the predator. i'd say predator would kick aliens butt anyday lol
AnonD-44302, 12 May 2012i mentioned one s just to tell that benchmarks are not 100% true.... ohh w8 Apple is not... moreThey may be exclusive to you but with Chainfire3D everyone can install and run them. Exclusive my butt.
I don't have enough money to buy one of them, but I prefer One X :-D
