well, good to know to ignore your comments from now on.
just one question, what more does a dslr bring to a casual photographer? maybe instant uploading to social networks? calls? internet?

you see, every function on a mobile has a better alternative:
watching movies, surfing the web better on a big screen
gaming better on a console or pc
navigation better on a dedicated gps unit

can i come to a sgs3 comment thread and say "i'd rather buy a 3ghz i5 laptop than this crap"?

I'd rather have this resolution and actually see it than a 2000x3000 display I can only see at home. About the OS... nah, read the review again and look at the videos. If you get an Android or an iPhone you need something like 50 apps just to have what Belle offers out of the box.

AnonD-3575, 23 Jun 2012well, no smartphone can replace my laptop but i can compromiseHow? You can type fast long text on your phone?(in fact you can with swipe, but that's available only on some Androids). Movie watching? Yes, but you better do it on as big screen as possible and at the highest resolution as possible.(Again available only on Android, HOX and SGS 3). Gaming? Yes, but not on Nokia 808. Internet browsing. Only on very fast phones. Not on 808. So yes, you can replace a laptop with a phone, and the best replacement is SGS 3(swipe, large screen-high resolution, fastest phone for gaming and Internet browsing). The only compromise it would be the size of the screen, but the advantages are portability and battery life. With a 808 vs DSLR there are too many compromises and not enough advantages to be worth to buy the 808.

Alui, 23 Jun 2012I have one too:). Let me tell you why a DSLR cannot be replaced by 808. Zoom. ISO. 3D illusio... moreFair enough. But is your DSLR always with you? And if something surprising and amazing happens, is it already turned on and ready to shoot in one second?

first:congrat's GsmArena for a awesome review.the best and unbiassed review i've ever read. . .
second:i owned a n8 and it was absolutely amazing. . all in one conectivity with a great camera and a fantastic battery. . .i was amazed how long the battery lasted on that phone. . .and very good built quality. . .tipical nokia!
third: people say that symbian is dead that it's a bad OS and so on. . .let me tell you that you're wrong. . .it's The Only matured OS with al the functionality you want and guess what: it doesn't need dual,quad-core cpu's to run smooth and most important efficient. . .i had sgs 2,desire hd,icrap 3gs all fantastic phones but still there was something missing. . .the innovation! i'm not a nokia fanboy or android but still it anoys me to see all these bashers in here talking s. . t about 808 pv without knowing what this fantastic crafted piece of innovation can do. . .why do you need a 41 mpx camera?! . . .simple:because Nokia decided you deserve one for those important life moments you share with your friends and family. . .because they decided you deserve to have the best that they can offer to make You happy and not ruine those moments with a crappy 8mpx of Samsung quality. . .or Htc for that matter. . .i love taking photos wherever i go and for that only i think this is awesome and serves my needs+i get a damn good crafted smartphone with all the functions i need for the price of many products!people complain that the ppi of the screen is to small. . .my galaxy tab has a ppi of 170 and guess what i don't have a problem with this so for a Phone it's ok plus it is CBD with Rgb pixel arrangement!!!small hd panels+dual, quadcores=battery disaster!!!why do ineed a guad core on a OS that does not take full advantage of this when i can have a single core that does everything the quad does and my battery is at least twice better?!i sure hope Wp8 on Nokia with Pureview will be a even greater innovation on smartphones. . .i used every OS but none is more mature and efficient than symbian and especially belle. . .i had and have lots of crashes, freezes and restarts on my android devices plus the battery life is nowhere near symbian's. . .yes the app store is great on android and ios but really is that all about there is?!the apps!? i don't use more than 20-25 apps because i don't need to so i see no problem with the ovistore where you have all the basics covered.
i will buy this phone because it trully is innovative. . .i will buy this because it says QUALITY!!! . . .AND BECAUSE IT IS WHAT ALL SUPERPHONES SHOULD BE: A ALL-IN-ONE DEVICE!!! that make our lives easier and beautiful. . .for all the fanboys pay some Respect for what Real Innovation and Real Quality means!!!it means NOKIA 808 PUREVIEW!!!. . .I AM A ANDROID USER BUT ONE WHO RESPECTS THOSE WHO TRULLY COMMIT IN DELIVERING THE BEST FOR THE USERS AND NOT ONLY taking our hard earned money with marketing gimmicks and copying others stuff!!!peace to you all technology lovers and yes Is this madness?! No it's Nokia making everyone else going mad with their innovations!:-)

Big evil tech giant Sumsang steps on Nokias toes. Nokia kicks it to a very deep hole and roars: THIS IS NOKIA!!

Something like that came to my mind after reading that last line. Almost epic, GSMA, almost epic.

BTW, it's funny to watch the battle of popularity between SGS3 and 808 here in GSMA. There have been lots of reviews of both and they are absolutely attention grabbers. Other is one of the greatest inventions in the smartphone world and other is years biggest cash magnet with awesome spec sheet but barely nothing revolutionary. Guess which is which. Some day, Nokia will rise again with WP8 and PureView, and they will also come up with some other great things like PureView.
