MrX, 23 Jun 2012Where is Pureview mode in Photo compare tool? Why only 38 mpix?I don't know if it was in pureview but if you change the scale that can be found below the original image, it has an option to rescale in 12, 8, 5, and 3mp... And take note when you change that you'll be blown away by the result it's the best in all the smartphone available in that option and competing with canon 5d ii...
I so so desperately want Nokia to beat the leaving hell out of Samsung....come on Nokia...Am not in hurry and willing to give Nokia one or one and a half year....Let there be Lumia pureview W8..
Awesome review. Was an absolute pleasure reading it. Although I've still got the N8, I will probably go for Note 2 in October as my next phone.
Nokia as now made a Big Gamble releasing the 808 after the man they put in charge,Mr Elop said on Febuary 11th that "Symbian is Dead" so mobile operators then decided not to Invest in Nokia phones that were not going to be Supported,Nokia an Mr Elop are not well related an All Mr Elop was used for was to be a Sales Agent for Microsoft as they needed alot of Help to somehow get the Portfolio as they couldn"t compete with Apple an there name was not so Popular,Nokia since Mr Elop chose Windows are on a Status Quo in the mobile market an are now "Down Down Deeper an Down"an now are in more trouble with the Lumias not being able be upgraded to Windows 8,O.k the N8 was popular because of its Price but the 808 will be alot more Expensive an with the Samsung S3 being around an alot thinner, the 808 will find it hard to be succesful until the price drop
drick, 23 Jun 2012well, it's seriously thick and symbian looks ancient like my 2009s 5800. it might fit for came... morenokia belle have nothing to do with your old symbian from 2009,except a few drawings in the secondary menus. but i love symbian, because all functions are in their place, where i know them for years. android is complicated and useless for hard users wich need long battery stand-by time. nokia 808 is thick because camera is huge. this is not a device for pussy
Why the hell is my tears falling when I finished reading this review?!?!
well, it's seriously thick and symbian looks ancient like my 2009s 5800. it might fit for camera geek who brought man purse anywhere or maybe symbian/nokia fan ,but casual user can just consider other high end phones and still save some money.
First, I would like to thank GSMarena for being so informative and fair. You can seldom find a person who loves gadgets and computers and is good in writing. And seldom will you find someone so good in literature and is very good in technology. Like a language loving man oftentimes is dumb in mathematics. But hey, you never faildd me, i trusted you most of the time. This review was what i was waiting for. Like how i waited for the N9 review. 808 deserves such an awesome piece of criticism. And you deserve to review the 808. To add to that, you deserve to be appreciated because of this review. You guys have to admit that there are only a few opportunities that you guys can really really outshine other sites though i had always been loyal to your reviews. And most of those opportunities come with nokia once in a lifetime phones. Kudos gsmarena. God bless pureview and nokia. This should be featured in the TIMES!
this mobile is not dual core . is dual cpu. it have a totally separate dedicated cpu for video processing like dvd recorders for home use. this is above all you can imagine, nothing on market can compare with this image monster. symbian have nothing to do here,it could be a series 40 or 30 device
siddheshpatil, 23 Jun 2012buy a new laptop...Point I was making there was how well a resource efficient OS can manage with low processing power. Playing the stuff on a single core RISC 1.3Ghz CPU better than a 2.4Ghz dual core CISC is really a thing.
I don't know whether to laugh at your comment.. lmao I say something about some awesome work and what I get in return, a lame advice? Didn't I say that one was my OLD LAPTOP? That means I have a new one as well. Go drench into pureview madness before you go trolling. Don't try to add nonsense here.
almost an year with android and i can surely say apps dont really matter that much, atleast to me..good browser and video and audio playback, maps and yes a few important apps but not that symbian doesn't have any of it...if i could, id gladly swap my phone for this
There are mistakes in the review:
1. You mentioned only 4:3 modes, not 16:9 modes, like 34 MP. Similarly, you mentioned it as 38 mp overall.
In short you ignored the dual aspect lens.
2. Accd. to Nokia, its expandable "UPTO" 48 GB and not 32...
But I'm liking this phone. Will get it when it becomes slightly cheaper...
As of now, it costs almost double of N8, despite all the stuff packed into it.
N8'c price: Rs. 17,000
808's price: Rs. 32,000
will take it when it gets to Rs. 25k-28k.
