Psysect, 29 Sep 20128x is veeeeeeeeeeeeeery beautiful!! Htc rockssssss everytime everyyyyyyy whereI am in the same exact situation. My AT T contcart expires Feb, and I have been researching the smartphone market to replace my iPhone 3g.If iPhone 5 supports LTE, then I will definitely wait until June. However, the chances are very slim. Other than Near Field Communication, I have not heard any exciting rumors. The Motorola Atrix seems like the best bet with specs that pwn other smartphones on the market. Plus, it is scheduled to be released by March, so less waiting vs iPhone 5. The downside for me is its physical size and price (especially its laptop dock).Do not get Verizon's iPhone 4! They use EV-DO at 3Mbps compared to AT T 14.4Mbps. I have not been impressed by AT T's call quality, but 3Mbps is only acceptable 2 years ago. Avoid Verizon until they finish deploying LTE. If you are considering iPhone 4 on AT T, be aware that you still cannot fully utilize AT T's data network, because the phone itself can only do 7.2Mbps. My sister has iPhone 4, and it is nice. However, I do not even consider this phone since it simply cannot compete against newer phones you mentioned.I have also looked at HTC Inspire, but this one does not have front camera! Some people are fine with that, but since you mentioned Skype, I assumed you care (video chat). With respect to the other guy: I use Skype+iPhone3g+AT T so it is not strictly for Verizon. Also, by consensus, the iPhone 5 is very likely to come out around June/July regardless of Verizon release.

And about the design, do some research about hTC Max 4G and tell me who's copying who now? Max 4G was announced 2008 while N9 was just 2011. Know both Nokia and hTC's history, not just Nokia alone!

You can even get some information on Wikipedia, though overall I don't find that to be a reliable source.
Yes, polycarbonate has been used in a lot of products for years but they've never done proper research. It's very common for companies and industries to use materials that only later are shown to be hazardous since they have no financial gain in researching the potential hazards. I could make a long list of compounds that's been in use for years that's been proven to be hazardous. Why do you think cancer is increasing becoming more and more common in society? Wake up! I do not believe in God. I believe in science. I wish you would to.

DaMan, 29 Sep 2012The HTC and Nokia phones are made out of polycarbonate. At first thought that might sound like... moreseriously dud? don't be so ridiculous. the shear amount of products that use poly-carbonate, or a derivative thereof, in their manufacturing process means that any sort of harmfull effects would have come to light years ago. stop woth the scare mongering and use the brain whatever god you may or may not believe in gave you. itsa complete rubbish and whoever told you this is probably having a good ,augh at your expense right now.

Since the 8X does not have microSD slot, I hope HTC will eventually bring out a 64GB version.

Information interestingly lacking from this hands-on is the fact that the 8X has both a built-in amplifier for the sound system (pumping out double the power of most other handsets) and a wide-angle 88 degree front facing camera - that's wide enough to capture you and three or four people around you when held at arm's length.

The HTC and Nokia phones are made out of polycarbonate. At first thought that might sound like a good idea but polycarbonate contains the hormone influencing compound bisphenol A. Studies have shown that this compound easily leaks from different kinds of products and affects us more than we first thought possible. It is suspected to be a carcinogen. I'd recommend avoiding all products containing this compound.

The HTC Window 8X has bought out a similar design to Window phone because they have combined with Nokia to produce this phone. According to the specs the phone is a midrange smartphone so it worth purchasing it depending on the cost if in case the price is too high then i would prefer purchasing the LG Optimus G which is soon to be launched.
