wow, there's lot of people saying sony is too late.. but seriously, sony may start slow but they did good job. this phone are not suppose to challenge galaxy S4 or maybe iphone 5s.

Any info on the hdr function? I heard that it has a dedicated chip and it can do hdr on the fly i.e during shots and also whilst recording video. This will become a true pureview contender

But what about the poor sony firmware update schedule, they just release at most 1 update, and then forget about the mobile. it's been few month since JB 4.2 was release, but they are using 4.1, so, dont spect anything beyond 4.2 on this phone, maybe with some luck Android KLP (4.3 or 5.0).
BTW, i always used to have a sony device, T230 > W910 > W995 > MK16 (xperia pro), and all of then have had a terrible support

Ugly UI. Why dont u leave it stock instead of doing this shitty UI overlays!
Design sucks too. Much like the boring iSlab designs. Learn from HTC or Nexus how to design and not from iSlabs.

wonderful design, great specs and it seems have a nice finish.
i like the fact the the headphone out is covered as all other conections.
the very only thing i don't like is the size. i think it's a bit to big. we are speaking here about a fingertip. but yeah... i don't know. a bit to big. i guess i have to deal with it.
xperia ZL
wonderful size and materials. i realy love the plastic back. i saw some YT videos where the reporter was holding it next to a nexus 4 and a HTC one x. must say i am impressed! the nexus 4 and the one x are only 4,7" screen phones. but the ZL seemed to be SMALLER then them. with a 5" screen. unbelivable! that is true minization. IMHO it's not possibible to build a 5" phone smaller than the xperia ZL. sony made a hell of a job here.
what i realy hate about the phone is the sd/sim cover. looks cheap and destroyed the integrity of the backside. don't get me wrong here but i must say that this cover is a bad solution from sony. i expected more. sorry for that.
but i have to admit it: woderful phones! i was always a sony man and when i saw the rumors i knew that they were speaking about my 2013 phone. befor i saw them now on YT i was sure that i would buy the ZL. but after the sd/sim cover i think i will go fot the Z. even if it is a bit to big for my taste. i would like the best of both worlds. ZL size and material and Z sd/sim solution. maybe in 2014. i will try to get my hands on them, get a feeling for the build quality and then i will see.

i'll take xperia zl at any cost... z is also nice but still i prefer zl despite its devoid of many cool features of z.. few things made me take thz decision is its bezel size which is extremely thin n phone looks more compact n second is its front cam which is placed on the best place n make it different from other phones...
