Sony Xperia Z review Comments

GSM Arena People: A little while ago, you've done a blind test using the new Nokia 808 Pureview against:
* HTC One X
* iPhone 4S
* Samsung Galaxy S III
* Nokia N8 (downsampled from 12MP to 8MP)
* Olympus E-PL2 interchangable lens, large sensor camera (downsampled from 12MP to 8MP)
It's been a while, and rather than making a blind test, could you please remake it using the champion (Nokia 808 Pureview) against:
* Apple iPhone 5
* Sony Xperia Z
* Nokia Lumia 920
* Samsung Galaxy S3
* HTC One X/Butterfly/DNA
* Any other good camera phone I didn't mention
Sure I can use the Photo quality comparison with the indoor control images, but I'd prefer some new real life pictures taken outside and inside. Please include the originals in ZIP format for us to download and review ourselves.
If you could also include videos, that would be great, which are not on tripod and stable. As long as you put on some effort in keeping it stable, that would be fine. But keep the action focused on one area with the cameras panning left to right (or which ever directions).

Anonymous, 18 Feb 2013None of the self proclaimed photo experts here would be able to tell the difference in a blind... morewhat u get on XZ 13MP? maybe 8MP is enough?? check the picture against canon DSLR as a reference. there is a missing color and hue in the middle of 8MP.

None of the self proclaimed photo experts here would be able to tell the difference in a blind test. And many say that lumia 920 is a great cam phone but the Z is better overall. In fact they say 920 is the best so then I'm sure they will say Z is best now.

Anonymous, 18 Feb 2013The camera and its specs is(unfortunately) one of the biggest selling points of smartphones to... moreOh, and I forgot to add: you can't count megapixels from LPH like that. Every line (line pair) requires at least TWO pixels to resolve (this is the Nyquist frequency), so you should double your "effective" pixel count for all your example devices. It does not change the relative outcome of course (The Xperia Z is still more effective relative to megapixel count than the 808).
The results are hardly surprising anyways, because it' easier to make really sharp small lenses for tiny 1/3" sensors than the relatively large 1/1.2" sensor of the 808.

Sony always seems to put weaker speakers on there phones an never seem to improve in this section,which seems very odd indeed,on Febuary 25th in Barcelona i am sure the others will have seen what the Xperia Z as on offer an produce more better camera features on there phones,Samsung with S4 will be a big challenge to this Smartphone

Oh come on, they are all the same now days, same over priced piece of hardware.... just pick the design u like and the screen size u need... the rest is the same in all of them (almost, and to average user unnoticable)

use gsmarena photo compare tool,, even the video compare will tell the biggest difference bet the cam of the galaxies with d sucking xperias

What I don't understand is why did they put the camera's 13mp under disadvantages. If it's hardly any better than last year's best 8mp, then it is still a good camera just with additional mp for those who love big photos. GSMArena were all praises for the iphone 5 camera, and if Xperia Z's camera is not better or worse than that of the iphone 5, then it is at par with the former and give due credit.
