I have the Z (white) and love it. I've had SGS2, Note and Note2, got tired of the Sammy's use of plastic. After about 4 weeks use I can say the the Z is a very solid phone inside and out!

Dragontrail is way stronger then gorilla.

WHY COMPARE viewing angles? if you look at the front phone!! that point of comparison is of little value or meaning.. XPERIA Z in microscope is better, no question, as I see it in the image I,.

I borrowed my brother's Xperia Z for a day and noticed two things:

                1) The LCD
There appears to be a film on the screen, which is probably the shatter-proof film Sony mentions in its product literature. I suspect that this film may play a role in affecting the LCD's native contrast and brightness.

Understandably, even if it turns out that the LCD without the film performs much better, the bottom line is that the *apparent* performance to the end user falls short because not everyone's going to peel that film off. Yet would it be worth an experiment, GSMArena? Peel off the film and measure its parameters?

                2) Camera
Megapixels and theoretical performance aside, the Z's camera was amazing in low-light and dark (e.g. moonlit/night) shots. Perhaps GSMArena could compare this aspect as well? Might be a talent of the Exmor RS that's not been given due recognition.

It's good to see how afraid fanboys are of the success of the Z. I do however hope that the fanboys can stop some buyers from getting the Z, making it as common as iPhone 5 or Galaxy S3 would make it more boring.

for the truth ... most benchmarks are based on theory so i did rather watch video on utube's rather then reading article but for me my opinions is sony's need to change their main panel screen to OLED or their newest technology CLED i did like to own it :) i love my xperia S the visibility in sunlight is great no offense

                    Looking forward on Xperia ZL
                    Pros:

                    Resistance to scratch and dust
13.1 Mega pixel with HDR O_O

                    16gb internal memory
                    feature with bravia engine II
full matte white colour ( my fav )
fastest processer 1.5 ghz quad core

It is a rather unfair comparison

For one the HTC one has a completely different user interface with the latest "sense"
This is an older model the butterfly

overall, xz wins against the butterfly. however, it is undeniable that the butterfly has the superior display compared to the xz's jdc panel. but then again, there are xzs that have the sharp panel—which happens to be at par with the butterfly's display.

you can look for those sharp displays on the xz on youtube. beautiful and no issues with viewing angles.

also ... the htc butterfly is more expensive than the xz. can't fault htc for the pricing since it uses the same tech as the xz. butterfly stocks/availability is also limited so how do you compare a device that you can actually buy to one that is not even available in your area yet?

People sony has the Best colour tint mixing technology in the world,no matter what till now a lot of great displays have come iphone,lg,samsung but the sony has an edge due to their tint which makes the colour tone real as possible,Till now no company can match it,sony has a history legacy which was created due to unmatched quality and products which were different from the rest, yes there have been issues with hardware, software tweaking,
model designs,But dont forget sony is not a company which can be written of by comments because people know what a sony is since they have experienced it
