If Samsung give you a 4UP/4MP camera which is barely a normal 8MP smartphone camera, will you still be convincing yourself by saying:
'I just use it for social media FB etc, so the blur image is unnoticeable easily. Samsung is superb for producing such an "innovation" and "revolutionary" product.'
LOL HTC ONE fanboy are lying to themselves.
Check this out to see how buggy and crappy the ONE's camera is: http://www.hardwarezone.com.sg/review-htc-ones-camera-tested-updated
Anon, 28 Mar 2013Can't believe people would even use this as a point of reference! First off the HTC One's came... moreThe pixels on HTC are just normal but a little bigger pixels, even if HTC call them "ultra" pixels! 4MP is still only 4MP, even on HTC One!
Can't believe people would even use this as a point of reference! First off the HTC One's camera is 4UP and not MP! Bigger screen an advantage? That is a matter of opinion. Having had my S3 crack inexplicably, and shocking customer support which meant paying £134 at a Service Centre to replace the screen and plastic frame, will never touch this cheap plastic piece of excrement! Each to their own but I choose the One and XZ! Build quality and design are optimal/premium......booooooomm!
One thing they didn't comment on is price! I would never go out and buy one of these or any phone that cost more than £400 now because they aren't worth it. The Nexus 4 is a top handset that cost nearly half the price of these handsets. The only thing that's stopping me from buying one is battery life so I'm hoping the rumours of the x phone turn out to be true.
AnonD-129076, 28 Mar 2013Oh ya I dropped my one X several times its so awesome that nothing really happened though its ... moreThat is a real problem with S3, because the curved display is not protected by the edges of the phone, so S3 does need a tpu-case just as iPhone 4S and Xperia Z, both made of glass, also needs a tpu-case! Polycarbonate protects the phone more than metal, and One X use this "plastic" but HTC One use "beer can" alumunium that does not absorb anything at all to protect the phone if accidentally dropped! Note II and S4 does not have the same curved display as S3, so S4 should do a lot better if it is accidentally dropped!
S2 is very strong and I have dropped it many times without any damage at all to my S2!
AnonD-129076, 28 Mar 2013Oh ya I dropped my one X several times its so awesome that nothing really happened though its ... moreIt depends on how phone drops. Can you tell me how many times your htc drop and you samsung friend phone drop?
I can smell htc fans r burning here.. lol ...i m using s2 for last 2 years...n its really a awesome device...i droped my s2 several times on da road...but its never cracked or damaged...htc n apple they making some stupid phone..which is got limited storage...i dnt use any phone which one got limited storage...limited internet ..limited feature
AnonD-16443, 28 Mar 2013I copy and repost Rob C comment on other news, because I think for ordinary people like me, th... moreThe point is how they will be used by normal people in ever day situations. And dont go on about how they need bigger device for more. For being a closed off, non removable battery, no card slot, newer LCD, long distributable device its already big enough. And yes there is software updates, but who of the two offers that better? And many kudos to HTC for using it first, but we can all easily figure in the hands of nokia, sammy, or sony the results physical and software and MP would've been better
In result I found one advantage over s4 : -body and design(its clear) -screen(more naturall and realistic color with higher ppi) -better ui(sense5 is really great , perfect and beautiful but its not as easy as to use than touchwizz but I think sense is more professional)maybe gsm pick up tochwz in reason. -video quality with clear sound record -sound and power it (its clear too specially when u talk dual filter take all extra noise of around) -fm radio
S4 over one: -better performance(but I think after up one to android 4.2 both of place very near and maybe it don't seen when we used them at the same time) -great smart options - more user friendly ui then sense5(sense a little professional) -battary is amazing(although one's scores is sooo great and almost near s4 by 200mah less even better web browsing) -better camera in day light(i've a big debut about low light cus I see one's camera in youtube and some the other site do amazing in low light even better any phone like 920 but in overall I'm waiting gsm bring us a new compare btw one and s4 bafter new update one's camera) -better suport of export pass -removable battary(but its some disadvantage when stolen phone can't stop use and next after fall and hit to ground back caver maybe open and take a part and hit the damage to phone) -sd card
tnx for follow.
AnonD-8779, 28 Mar 2013there is no point in up scaling a 4 MUP cam and trying to match the result with a 12 MPIX cam ... moreLMAO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! They overcharge you where you live so that automatically makes it crap...Good logic
Oh ya I dropped my one X several times its so awesome that nothing really happened though its kinda of a plastic.. Ma frnd who had s3 dropped it it was in pieces !!
GOD Sammy sucks !!
psysect, 27 Mar 2013Why do I hate from samsung.. cus my friend had s2 last year and it dropped of the table which... moreAnd lol. One bad drop from a Sammy means you dont want to risk changing the quality trust of HTC???? The one is not doubt nice and many other recent....but They have never been known for their "quality". In fact for years now they have been known for their dreaded hardware failures...Im not trying to bash it's simple truth. Though I believe they have improved much and that issue might not be so bad now and the one definitely seems like quality. So far only the S3 screens seems to be the questionable one which points out a tempering problem
psysect, 27 Mar 2013Why do I hate from samsung.. cus my friend had s2 last year and it dropped of the table which... moreAnd there are millions that dropped it without it breaking. There is cases of any phone...ANY phone either breaking or not breaking when dropped. End of the story. You can whine, cry, complain all you want.

-better suport of export pass

[deleted post]"Any professional photographer can confirm that HTC One has the best camera on a smartphone PERIOD (808 is a Symbian phone)"
you missed me:))))))))...when did you have the time to ask all of them?:) and what does that mean, "808 is a Symbian phone"? - it's not qualified as a smartphone:)?
I like what HTC tried on paper, but they didn't deliver. They've managed to convince some of you from what I can see but the truth it's not in your possesion my friend. What I don't like about HTC is their marketing, first they had allmost claimed that they invented photography, they mocked other OEMs and now they bark like a little dog at samy with childish remarks...
Maybe next time they'll do what they promise.
The Mobile Pro ONE, 27 Mar 2013Hmm..First gorilla glass can't be changed watch videos on youtube and you will see ,search The... moreOh yeah...There can't be newer and improved gorilla glass....I mean thats the truth about everything...nothing improves
AnonD-129076, 27 Mar 2013Why HTC One for me ?? -> 4.7" keeps it as a phone !! -> Dual speakers... moreI'm gonna make multiple exaggerated posts of the same crap over and over again...half of it being false. All the while blinding showing how much Im a sheep to this Im gonna tell everyone else that they are the sheep. Especially if one of them is able to correct me
AnonD-129076, 27 Mar 2013Oh please, Sweeet As Sugar, Premium feel is what is aluminum all about. Its not cheap off ... moreLmfao! Its so hilarious when trolls like you go on out of this world exaggerated rants and then call others the sheep. Then someone's a fanboy for defending illogical statements
TheNeighbor, 28 Mar 2013Just like iPhone users weren't interested anything that had more than a 3.5" screen befor... moreNot really. I had a S2 for about 6 months, and it was just a bit too big for me, so I sold it and got Xperia Ray, very good phone but not as fast as S2. So. Sold that and got something a bit bigger than Rat but smaller than S2 - iPhone 5. Best phone I have ever had
I copy and repost Rob C comment on other news, because I think for ordinary people like me, this is quiet scientific to explain HTC One camera performance.
Thank you to the GSMArena Team for this Review.
I read your Review carefully, and I missed the part about how you updated your HTC with the newest Software that addresses most of the issues with the Camera.
For more Info read: http://www.hardwarezone.com.sg...amer a-tested .
One fallacy I find with the manner in which the Camera was reviewed (other than the Software Update) is best explained thusly.
Assume two Cameras both with identical Sensors but one has a 4x Zoom (for argument sake, the HTC One) and the other has a 8x Zoom (for argument sake, the Nokia Lumia 920).
You then go on to explain that whether you held the Camera in your right hand or your left hand, indeed even standing on your head, the Nokia consistently produced images that seemed twice as close as the HTC, (ignoring the effect of the Zoom after acknowledging it's existence).
Similarly you stand in one spot, take two Photos, and say the Camera with the higher megapixels resolves more detail.
Just like with a smaller Zoom Lens when you have fewer megapixels you need to take a step or two closer to your Subject (assuming your subject is close) or move the Digital Zoom to 2x (on the HTC) assuming the Subject is far away.
You can Google for the words: "zoom Lens take a step forward" and read that you do not need to buy a few different Zoom Lenses for your Camera and that most People can get by with a couple of Lenses; just take a step or two closer or further from the Subject.
The "usefulness" of Zoom Lenses are: Access or Safety. At a Sporting Event you can only get so close, same with a Lion, or Photos taken from a Rooftop. In those situations a Zoom Lens is necessary.
Higher megapixels are necessary when you want to crop, want to Print larger Photos, or want to maximize the amount of material you can include in one image.
With a Camera that has a smaller Zoom Lens or fewer megapixels you need to take a few steps forward (for the closeups). In the case of larger Pixels you have the advantage of more light input, less noise, faster Shutter and the ability to stop down (and use the 'better' portion of the Lens).
So paint your Oranges red before you compare them to Apples and say one is not as good a Fruit because it is not as red.
Shoot a 8MP Camera from 20 feet away and a 4MP Camera from 10 feet away from the Subject and then compare the DETAIL. Don't post process then zoom and crop the higher MP Photo and say it is sharper than the lower MP Photo. It is not a reasonable way to compare the two.
To put a larger Sensor in the HTC One would require making the Phone thicker (or using far more expensive Optics, or to accept more distortion).
Similarly, replacing the Sensor (that has more megapixels than the HTC One) in a Competitor's Phone with a Sensor that has larger Pixels would also require the Competitor to make their Phone thicker (or use far more expensive Optics, or accept more distortion).
That is an Apples to Apples comparison.
Cellphones are like Laptops in that is is usually impossible to replace the Hardware (thus the 'Battery and SD Card' argument), but new Software can be purchased (or in this case obtained via a free Update) and the newest algorithmic techniques (Program) can improve the results that we will obtain from that non-replaceable Hardware.
With a Cellphone you are stuck with the Hardware you buy, but the Software can be replaced. HTC's Camera issues, in NORMAL lighting conditions, can be fixed via Software, whereas other Cellphones (the exception being the Nokia 808 PureView) can not be fixed by Software to work better in LOW lighting conditions.
Whether there IS going to be many more Updates of the Software coming for the Nokia 808 PureView (Manufacturer or 3rd Party) is another matter entirely.
