Besides, AMOLED is the best contrast display tech, today.
Another big success for Samsung but for me I'm waiting for Note III. I need a hybrid tablet/phone for my needs.
All the haters can just point out it is plastic! They probably put the their metal phone in a plastic case LOL. The vast majority of people put their phones in a cases so you don't feel or see the metal anyway.
Plastic is better than metal.
Plastic is flexible, metal is rigid and can dent, ding, scratch much easier.
You own a car you'll know...
I have owned many metal phones, laptops, cars. All suffer badly.
Plastic allows the S4 to be light weight, strong, flexible. A metal back cover will require to be thick and heavy for it not to bend out of shape. Metal is rubbish...
This allows for removable battery. A big plus and also has removable Micro SD.
I don't need to listen to the haters because most of them are jealous there phone is not selling so well. People choose the best and the sales will show.
[deleted post]Not sure if you are blind or plain stupid. But the Galaxy S IV have Adobe RGB color setting under the screen setting witch makes your argument against the colors on AMOLED screens today invalid.
If I was to buy an Android phone right now, I would be torn between this and the HTC One. Both have some great good points and some bad points.
I think I'd have to go for the HTC though. Camera quality isn't high on my list, and cameras on phones are very functional so for Youtube and Facebook there's no real comparison. The HTC display is superior as well in my eyes. I shouldn't have to adjust settings to make the display pretend to be something it is not.
Finally, the bloatware is what really lets this phone down. God knows what carriers will stick on it, on top of Samsungs own software which is on top on Jelly Beans. Rooting it would be the answer, but it's a real time waster when you factor in some of the software you want to keep. It's why I use an iPhone these days.
Nowhere in the hardware section I got to see about the newly included metal sideframe of the s4...its a great improvement over the previous Samsung flagships which had plastic bumpers coated with paint that wore off easily...please include it in your review...great aesthetic and build improvement..
Bravo to GSMArena for such marvelous review. Thank you for all the hard work you put to bring out what possibly is the most detailed review of GS4 (or any other phone infact ) out there. Outstanding device by Samsung. No problem with looks either since the only problematic part, the rather cheap looking plastic back in actual serve purposes what many complaint of.
In addition to that, please update the speaker performance test of SG4 vs One.
Well if you can afford to buy this phone , I'm sure you have enough money for an unlimited data plan lol
Anonymous, 29 Mar 2013The One uses a 4 Ulta Pixel sensor and not a 4MP one!Does Ultra Pixel really means something here? I would be happy if my photo taken with 4MUP on One at least match with 8MP on my current OneX...
AnonD-1758, 29 Mar 2013for me FM radio is a must. TuneIn Radio eats Data.i have the same problem ,i need the fm radio, and in the same time i need the 3g video calling ,i am confused between the s4 and htc one,but i am thinking of buying sony wireless headphones with fm radio to the s4.
Anonymous, 29 Mar 2013No headphone beat Xperia z and iPhone 5 sound quality.s4 has an excellent sound quality even better than htc one beat audio, read gsmarena comparison, but if u like to have beat headphones u can buy them and connect them to the s4.
TMach, 29 Mar 2013Not joining you guy's debate but the Xperia Z has already sold out in many countries, Japan, F... moreMach, dude, the expert reviews all conclude the TFT full HD screen of the XZ discolors at accute angle views. It's the truth and I would sometimes watch with someone using my portable device and you think people would not tell watching discolored images knowing there's actually something better out there?
... being sold out in countries? How many? Is the count on the millions? Is there a link to this? Enlighten us, please. If Sony is such a hit with their cellular phones nowadays, why are they on sale with even their just before XZ units?
The Xperia Z has a sleek and waterproofed design, that I totally dig. That's about the stellar XZ I can compliment about and people getting it don't have my requirements for something that can last 12 hours with constant heavy usage, change to a fresh battery and a Wacom digitizer system for digital painting.
The S IV has quite the versatility, performance, battery stamina and screen quality now with even better color accuracy and eligibility. The S IV will usher something even more for the Note III this year. Sony isn't offering anything close. It's a personal choice and needs and not something that I would just possesses, but what I can PRODUCE with it that really counts for me.
Good job Samsung. Every thing is top quality except for the design. I still can't decide between this and htc one. I see that Touch wiz is better than htc sense now. It's more effective, has more features and simple at the same time. Take the notifications menu for example htc doesn't even add basic toggles like wifi, Bluetooth, etc. I know most things I can get from the Play store like a more capable video player for the one but a major manufacturer like htc should do better.
I don't care much about the camera so htc camera is not a big problem for me.
TheNeighbor, 29 Mar 2013Sebastian, you are giving advice here? Ok, for a guy who bought and used the Note II and comp... moreNot joining you guy's debate but the Xperia Z has already sold out in many countries, Japan, France, Germany, Hong Kong etc and quite frankly offers something quite different to the S4. Whilst to some it may not offer the same package the S4 does, it is certainly a stellar phone and to my eyes the screen is outstanding. That means we are then talking about margins here and quite frankly, issues that do not matter to most of the public, although they may to tech geeks. Personally, the poor experiences of the S3 especially with buld quality (inexplicable cracking compounded by the worst customer service ever, no engagement from Samsung not even to investigate and tell me I was wrong) means I certainly will not even be looking at the S4 as the XZ does everything I would expect from a phone and more and just got the HTC One from Phones4U's webstore. I do believe, I have the best 2 phones on the market and will be happy to look at Sony and HTC's next top end offering without any hesitation.
