You may think Xperia Z design is nice, but I think it is too squarish and shaped like a coffin. To you, it may has the best camera, but the facts are its photos are blurry as compared to S4 as presented in this review. Unless one is shooting in burst mode on the Xperia Z(what?!).
So, we do respect your likes towards Xperia Z, but you can't expect others to think like you. And I do not see what's wrong with plastic if the build is good and no cranking sounds when pressing the buttons. Not everyone like to submerge their phones into water or neither they have the needs to do so. And I think most of us will not want to spent more on buying other accessories like wireless dock for charging the phone just because afraid of wear and tear of the water proof connector covers.
So, there are no best phone imo. Just get and use whichever one likes.
There is no point in repeating my main arguments. Samsung fanboys constantly praising their phone because they are feeling the heat from Sony. I haven't seen any person that's mature enough to have a meaningful discussion with, all of them are teenagers either in age or mentality.
Anyway, the main point is that the XZ has one of the best screens and cameras in the market today, the thing about viewing angles is a joke that again only small minded people fall for. I mean the review makes it look as if the XZ is doomed or not usable which is far from the truth. The XZ is the best android smartphone till date, this is a fact that unbiased reviewers have constantly confirmed.
When the S4 and HTC ONE are released things may be different but not by a long margin like the fanboys want you to think so. A lot of XZ users are happy and proud and don't regret a bit waiting for plastic fantastic products, their phones can perfectly do anything the plastic fantastic does, the only difference is that with the XZ you'll just have the uniqueness that samsung fans will only keep dreaming about.
Anyway, those people will grow up oneday, and will learn to reveal the truth the way it truly is, not the way they want it to look like. And from a person with plenty of experience in both life and the tech world, I can tell you that if you're aim is quality go Sony, and if you're aim is just hype go plastic fantastic, your call.
So Samsung Galaxy S4 blows the competition away.. Again.. And raises the bar Again.. But no RDS Radio? What were you thinking?

GS4 is faster than Xperia Z but XZ... moreI think for better comparison should use point system from 1 to 10 for each comparison.
Actually XZ really did not lose too much, even GSMA themselves also in some point stated that XZ only lose a bit.

Even someone holding a boring iphone they still look cool and classy when i saw them holding that.
But they are not alone anymore..... Xperia Z* was here!
I personally prefer xz than s4
I think i won't be looked cool if i hold s4, but it's different story with xz in my hand :D
Funny thing that neither of those two phones holds a candle to my Sony Ericsson K750! That phone was truly ahead of its time and I'm still using it.

But the Xperia Z is not water proof - it's splash proof. So People should not be dipping their phones into water. Maybe 'splash' should be defined by marketing... nonetheless, having some protection from liquid is a step in the right direction in terms of being practical.

GS4 is faster than Xperia Z but XZ is not slow .....Samsung win but GS4 looks cheap/dummy phone.
For battery life, GS4 is better than Xperia Z but XZ battery life is not bad......samsung win but GS4 look cheap/dummy phone.
GS4 screen better than Xperia Z...well according to them. (I dont like samoled)...ok, samsung win.....but SG4 still look cheap/dummy phone.
camera???( I still like sony) ok, samsung win if you say so....but samsung looks cheap and sammy phone.... i mean dummy.
HTC one, Xperia Z, iphone 5 are the best phone to chose....for me.
probably Xperia Z is my next phone.
i hope this will end discussion about who is better. S4 better is most aspect for a smartphone. i believe S4 will maintain title of smartphone king. while xperia z is just new begining for sony mobile since they just overtake everything. maybe in next years / 2 years after xperia z we will see sony rises again but for 2013, samsung will dominate again.
so for sony fans, there's no need to debate who's better.
as a sony xperia z user, i always know that xperia will never win against S4 but i'm really satisfied with my phone since i never had any problem (weak wifi, SOD etc).
i really hope sony will add more wow factor not just waterprof.
for samsung fanboy: ok, your galaxy S4 is the winner here and i hope S4 will win against next iphone
The best way to know consumer experience is through a friend, not the salesman, not online posts (where trolls and haters thrive). Unless, you're so good in discerning posts whether it's made by a hater or not. Oh I forgot, personal/individual blogs are good sources of user experience.
Anonymous, 03 Apr 2013So the Sony Xperia Z is better in Everything?? To some of them, yes. Because they can even wash the phone under running water when it gets too hot! Or they can fap with it in the bathroom while watching movies...

I experienced one and a half day of normal usage. Music, webrowsing, calling, texting and light games. My wifi signal is fine, maybe it's their router. As for screen,it's perfect not having a problem about it. It's a great phone, perfect upgrade for my dead s3. Loudspeaker a low but i'm using bh headset so ni worries
Heating problem? I experience little heat but not extremely hot as posted by exaggerated posers, trolls and haters.
Anonymous, 31 Mar 2013Really, you assume that EVERYONE should want a S4? I had Note 2 for half a year and then i alr... morewhat is this trash you wrote? are you out of your mind? S4 got small advantages? the only advantage i see Z has is the water proof. i don't know why would you need that but i wouldn't need the phone to call when i'm in the shower and you can't use it when you're diving or swimming (you can't take it deep and you can't make calls down there). i still admire this because it can be used in different places with no worries but don't talk about the design because it's not comfortable to hold (comparing to galaxy) specially for a long time.
galaxy is way more comfortable to use and hold and carry. specially with those hidden holes of Z (yes it's to keep water out but it will keep you out too).
i had Z for one day and it was the worst day(phone wise) since i got rid of my iphone
and if you call Note 2 not a good phone you know nothing about smartphones nor Android, my brother has it and i'm jealous of him because i just can't carry a big phone like that, but it's simply amazing.
the Z screen is just stupid, it's black is more like gray and it's killed by S3 (i haven't even seen the S4 screen). and screen is BY FAR the MOST IMPORTANT part of the phone.
in every aspect that matters Z is beaten by S4 like BATTERY (which comes second for me after the screen) it's not just better, it's easily replaceable (thanks to it's plastic back) i carry extra battery with external charger and most of the time i don't need to recharge my phone.
both are Android and i don't give a S**T about some Korean company who is doing what it does to get more money but so far they're doing a great job and my S3 i9305 is so great that i couldn't replace it with Z. i can't wait to get the Best phone of the year 2013 S4

it's not easy to carry and use because of those sharp edges and the screen is just BAD. and another big problem was using OTG cable and headset with those tight remaining space in those deep holes.
and believe me with Galaxy you're only few simple step away from ROOT and a custom rom is ready to be flashed.
AnonD-130819, 02 Apr 2013Hi Friends. I want to buy a smart phone. but I have a big confused.
That's. Xperia z. (or)... moreIn my opinion, maybe the most important aspects are the following:
1)Battery life: depending on your usage - video playback, phone calls, web surfing. Most people charge their phones everyday, so as long as the battery lasts you the day doing any of the above 3 things, it's fine. Talk time Z wins, Web surfing and Video playback S4 wins. Really depends on what you do most!
2)Appearance: People do notice your phone all the time, I think Z wins here for sure. People rarely admire you for loading an app or software 2 secs faster, but people always admire you for having a sexier and quality looking phone. PLUS waterproof (new level of phone usage, u can even pick up the phone in the shower or by the pool)
3)UI: S4 has slight advantage here with newer android software. It is important for the user to find options and multi-task.
4)Camera (only low light condition): S4 wins, if you r a night owl n take many pictures with friends at night events, then it's important. Otherwise, daytime photos u can hardly tell the difference.
The above 4 points should be weighted the most when choosing a phone. The rest are trifling matters because the performance are too similar to be picky about:
-Screen: how long do u really look at picture or video comfortably on screen to make a difference. If you are choosing between 50" Sony and Samsung TVs, then maybe.
-Camera: if you are into quality pictures, then use Canon SLRs. You rarely zoom max into a picture taken by a phone. it's just for convenient of quick pictures.
-Gaming & Web Surfing: if u r into crazy gaming, wait for PS4 or ASUS ROG laptops. Games on phone are just to kill a bit of time. Into Web surfing? Just get a tablet. Instead of zooming in & out on the rather tiny 5" display.
-Audio: you want real quality sound? it's all the about the headphones or external speakers. Bose, Klipsch, Sennheiser, Bang and Olufsen, etc. No need to compare the phone. Hardly anyone plays loud music in public with their phones to max vol.
Hopefully narrows down the thoughts ppl need to go through when choosing a phone. There's really only a few things (4 points) to look for. Outdoorsy person, watch little videos, phone chat a lot, cares about looks = Xperia Z. Busy man, need multi-task, takes lots of photos day n night, lots of web surfing but no money for tablet = S4. Ya all know what i mean? :)
