Kind of funny this morning, was in an Orange store and asked the guy to let me see the SP working.First he said they had none then got one out.He dropped it on the floor after he turned it on and said "the damn thing is too heavy" .. not very encouraging, no damage to it but it is a bit of a brick. Also he knew about the rubbish camera but didnt want to say much other than "but you wont use it that much cause its only a phone quality cam" .. haha so think definitely will pass on it now.

When do we get comments from Sonyfans claiming they sold 4m SP's in the first week? lol

Whoop there it is!

The light strip is a killer feature. I hate to not be able to see if I have a waiting message on my phone.
And the benchmarks! OMG!

pixelpeeper, 01 May 2013Old Xperia P does far better job in camera processing than the "new" SP : compare... moresry, the URL's are swapped. But the quality of the photos are speaking for themselves.

LGOG is better (IMO) for nearly the same price. But I want to see battery test of SP.

AnonD-126413, 02 May 2013Screen clarity is always good but 2 things Sony should correct 1 make the back home and menu ... moreGosh, every LCD in a phone is Led backlit. The problem with Sony is that they use TN panels on their phones, and they are really, really low quality. They should either buy "SLCD" panels from Samsung or OLED screens from.. probably Samsung as well, but there are other companies making half-decent OLEDs that would still be great. A decent IPS screen would be the worst case scenario, but still much better than what they have right now.

Mhhh I've waited this phone a lot, and i'm disappointed.
From Sony site preview, seemed a cell phone fast enough and focused on the camera. We can wait, seriously and with a good chance, a software fix?
Not even extra-SD card, and not removable battery? Now looking a decent smartphone with a good looking camera seems hard.

Thanks.

Screen clarity is always good but 2 things Sony should correct
1 make the back home and menu key area black now it is grey and people think it is washed out
2 use IPS or LED BACKLIT LCD or SUPER LCD 2

After using for 4 days i found this feels amazingly faster than my previous Arc S. 319ppi is enough for me and so is 4.6 inch screen. The Ambient light is soo cool.. INR 24000 from Pune,India.

Why does it feel like a bunch of these comments are written by employees of Sony and Samsung?

Regardless, I woke up today to buy my SP for £350 ONLY TO FIND that during the night Orange/T-mobile had dropped its price significantly to £250. Immediately sold out everywhere. But I'm skeptical, a new phone hot from Sony's line-up released with a simultaneous price drop. Fishy, no?
Either way, I placed my order for the sleek white one. Only time will tell...
