[deleted post]The S2 used to be a high end, which means better build quality. Also, the screen on it is better (Super Amoled), the camera is better and the audio quality is better, despite not using that Wolfson DAC as other Galaxy phones do. Also, it has a replaceable battery.
This Xperia is slightly faster and the screen is slightly bigger, that's about it. I'm pretty sure that this 2 year old Galaxy is going to get at least as many updates from now on as well.

People are now leaving Galaxy series as better alternatives are now available. Sony taking lots of right steps here.

Well, you can get the Galaxy S3 for just a few Euro more and the price is likely to drop even further, and it's still one of the most capable Android devices. I'd say this year's mid-rangers barely make sense. I'm willing to bet the S3 will be supported for longer anyway.
I thought that Sony Xperia SP had not HDR video. Whatever this year Sony is demonstrating that is a great company.

Best Mid-range, really great to see in some tests this phone beating other high-range smartphones.
If this had the same form factor/screen but the xperia z's internals, it'd have been a kickass device.
I'd definitely go for a decent compact android phone.
