If, Samsung's profit margin's taken a big knock then may be it's time to start reducing some of their way over the top, whacky prices!
      £599.95 is way too much!

If white magic is on board its brightness will be much better.
The screen will also be durable and could be waterproof.
Amoleds are also very good .But it loses this one.

Hackz, 08 Jun 2013From what I heard that Triluminos is a hybrid of AMOLED and TFT..it use white light-emitting d... moreIt's an LED not Oled. Not TFT or Amoled.
And Amoled is not pentile. All screens are either made as pentile or RBG. Amoled, LCD, TFT, or anything can be either.
And at a pixel density of 440+ pentile really doesn't make a difference. And if 480p was good enough for large tv's 1080p is mind blowing for 5inch displays. Not to mention for conventional displays anything less than 5 or 6 sub pixels is pentile.

And LED cannot have pitch black and infinite contrast

Amoled will have slightly greate... moreThat's how it is already with LCD...and Amoled has much better contrast. And the color accuracy is only a very few percent now. To which having true blacks and still like 5% less natural color actually looks much more natural on Amoled because faded greys look very unatural.

The much better contrast also makes a huge difference in the brightness gap. Along with the less reflectiveness.. Amoled is much less reflective. Even when an LCD is a little better in sunlight it's only due to a good LCD being very very bright. The reflective ratio is much better in the Amoled still.

I have purchased galaxy S 4 on 30 th may 13. Screen display got damaged . Samsung service centre refused for complaint. They forcefully replaced display on chargable basis. Pl. Ensure before purchase.

Anonymous, 08 Jun 2013Better than TFT and current LCD seems likely.. Amoled however...Not a chanceFrom what I heard that Triluminos is a hybrid of AMOLED and TFT..it use white light-emitting diodes(LED) as RGB pixels with subpixels which is better than AMOLED that uses Pentile Matrix RGB,creating a glowing bright display with rich contrast and infinity pitch-black ratio..so I call it a great fusion & combination..isn't it?

Note 3 will have its hands full with togari and probably the HTC T6 and the lumia phablet.

Anonymous, 07 Jun 2013I bought my Xperia Z last month for 630USD at sony store here in US.Now it's lower. I remember a guy named S-E-B-A-S-T-I-A-N bragging at how he needed to slim down his wallet and spent close to $1k over Europe for the Xperia Z close to 6 months ago.

The XZ is even lower than $600 now. I like its looks but you only get a terrible just above 4 hours of actual screen on usage per charge. The S4 Active is far more practical with a removable battery and off-screen & physical buttons for real outdoor activities and long travels from home.

Breakdown S4 Actvie & Xperia Z: 8 MP, Air gestures, IP67 -VS- 13 MP, Glass design, IP57. The 57/67 is about dust protection though. Me personally, I'm still sticking with an Xperia Z upgrade.
