Please review about camera and please compare to S4 or HTC One. Especially night view because Z Ultra doesn't have LED Flash. Thanks.
It is so obvious that if you want to use your phone as a torch then this phone will not be for you, but for the millions of people like myself who have never used the flash led, even when taking photo's, then this is for us.

Apples innovations are limitless, and the OS being (very slightly) restricted just show the high class of the iPhone. You should buy iPhone. You may be able to with the budget model coming out soon, no need to needlessly spend change on cheap handsets with inferior software! You won't ever go back, beautiful UI, superior battery, screen and performance, premium feel, and over all excellent OS.
Sorry previous message should have read ultrabook not chromebook.

Chromebook with a mobile, is that really efficient, haven't you thought for one minute that there might be thousands of people like me who want to carry one device which satisfies all their needs, and invariably, the Z Ultra does just that. Are you really going to walk around with a Chromebook, I really don't think so, and will this chromebook take pictures and videos, will you be able to use it in the car as a Sat Nav device like i will with this gorgeous looking 6.44" Z Ultra, I really don't think so. Finally, it will fit in the pocket but you will need to wear trousers rather than jeans, I hardly ever wear jeans so this mobility issue will never affect me, and we all have a choice as to what we want to wear.

You're one who thinks that Apple invented the touch phone. The most notable Apple did were restrictions and limitations.
Firstly, I don't think any of these silly Sony phones can even compare to the mighty iPhone 5, secondly, I'm sick and tired of Sony copying all of Apples hard-thought-out innovation. Its Sick! Stop it Sony!
A few point that make me interest on this ZU :
1. 6,4" with Triluminos tech and X-reality adopted from Bravia Tech is quite impressive for me.. Especially for watching HD movies, playing hd games which is playstation certified.
2. OptiContrast panel makes for less reflection and clearer viewing – even in bright sunlight
3. Waterproof and dust protection
4. Processor Qualcomm S800 with adreno 330 for playing heavy spec games
5. Can use a regular pencil or pen as stylus so i shouldn't worry for missing stylus pen
6. Stamina mode for optimized the battery life to stay longer
7. Supporting devices like bluetooth headset and especially smartwatch 2, like it
Anonymous, 02 Aug 2013I have Xperia Z now so I know I need led flash. Do you bring a digital camera when you go out ... moreSee, the thing about the flash is, pictures taken with LED flashes look like shit anyway. I'm not going to miss it. But here's my main point: whether or not you want the flash, you're buying a smartphone, of which the camera (and attendant components, such as the flash) is only one part. And it's not really even a very important part, when you get right down to it. There are only two types of phone cameras: good enough, and not good enough. Z Ultra has the biggest, best display on the market and the fastest processor, in addition to being totally waterproof and, in my opinion, by far the best-looking, classiest smartphone available today. If you ignore that, and skip way down the list to single out its lack of a flash, then in my opinion your priorities are really screwed-up. But that's my opinion. However, it is a fact that to the average user, this is just not a huge deal. People don't buy phones for the flash. They buy them because the screen looks great, or it's fast, or it's good-looking.
About fixing the generator: how on earth do you have the tools (and knowledge) to fix a generator, yet you don't have a single flashlight anywhere? I have like three flashlights kicking around for no reason whatsoever. They're like $5 for a pack of three at Wal-Mart. In the rare cases you'd need one (yet are unwilling, for some reason, to spend $0.99 at the drugstore for one of those keychain lights), just use the screen with a white background on for light.
"People under 30 are proven..." Blah blah blah. Dude, I'm 28. But there are bigger problems with your statement. Number one: people under 30 are PROVEN to be able to differentiate between 500 and 600 ppi? No they're not, I know that for a fact. Please provide documentation to back up your claims. You can't do it, because it's horseshit. Here's an Anandtech article in which he actually explains why ~300 ppi AT A PROPER VIEWING DISTANCE does in fact outresolve even a perfect young human retina. Go to the display section:
The most relevant comment is where he talks about having 20/15 vision yet not being able to see pixels on the iPhone 4's screen at a distance of 12 inches. That's with a ppi of 326. Z Ultra has 342.
You're also ignoring the fact that, like I said before, I am near-sighted without my contact lenses, so if you are not near-sighted, I have BETTER vision than you when it comes to close-up viewing, because it's much easier for me to focus at that range. I can only see minimal pixellation on the Nexus 4's display (317 ppi) at a distance of 7 inches. As an aside, without my contact lenses, and thus with superior close vision, I cannot see any pixels at all on the HTC One no matter how close I get it. You may not be willing to admit it, but I can guarantee you that you will not see any pixels on the Z Ultra if you use it at anything like a normal viewing distance.

Do you bring a digital camera when you go out at night? No, but you bring your phone. Only in the last 5 months I have hundreds of party photos taken with flash, using the phone. Used Galaxy S4 a while too, loved the powerful flash, I want like that on my next phone.
I'm sure you are in a minority on this flash thing. Some people are willing to compromise on this but many are not. Even to use as flashlight, I once spent 2 hours in a storm fixing a generator with what little we had, meaning the flash on the phone was the only source of light.
No thanx man, I do not want to carry a flashlight and digicam wherever i go when all I need is a good smartphone, but don't let me stop you from doing it, if you really feel the Togari isn't big enough on its own that is.
About pixel density, people below 30 are proven to be able to differentiate between 500 and 600 ppi, then I wish you good luck in convincing us that 340 is equally good. truth is that 440 ppi of current flagships isn't touching the limit of the human eye, especially not for youngsters and nearsighted people. So yeah, I don't like to downgrade my ppi that much.
All haters and samsung fan boy here always complain and humiliate sony product.. Why don't you all have respect to the technology development whatever brand it is.. Each brand has the specialty for its product..
omfg! I have sumsung galaxy s4 and watching movie in a 5" full hd monitor is really cool ..I can't imagine how awesome should it be on a 6.4" full hd phablet ...I'm waiting to buy this shit

However, the rest of your post is misguided. What do you mean ppi is not high enough? It's 342 ppi. Once you can't see pixels anymore, how much higher do you need it to go? You do understand that you're just wasting processor capacity and battery for no additional benefit, right?
And make no mistake, you won't be able to see pixels on this phone. I'm near-sighted without my contacts, which means I actually have an advantage over normal people when viewing things very close to my face, and I can't even start to see pixels on my Nexus 4 until it is closer than six inches away from my face. The Z Ultra's screen is 7.8% sharper than that. If you have proper vision, it starts to become difficult to even focus on objects closer than six inches. So higher ppi would be purely a waste, with no advantage whatsoever.
Also, I really don't know what to say to you if you're going to pass up on the best phablet on the market just because it doesn't have an LED flash. How screwed up are people's priorities? This is a smartphone, which means the most important qualities are its display (currently the best, and biggest), the processor (currently the best), and then it's more debatable from there. But you're willing to give all that up because it doesn't have a flash? Anyone who complains about this not having a flash doesn't need one. A good photographer wouldn't care because they would already have a good camera. If you're not an enthusiast, you don't need one.

Considering these multi cores and upgraded ram as an experiment. Showing us the potential of such small devices, allowing them to operate significant and heavy software in the future reliably. Why do we need thousand foot buildings when a few stories may be enough? Get it? If it's too expensive, no one is forcing you to buy.
thecalmcritic, 01 Aug 2013I'll pass for the next one:-
1. Need a flash for the back cam.
2. 4000mAh batt not less.
... more1. Totally agree. Exmor RS sensors can take very good indoor photos without flash, but lower the light more and its a lost cause, totaly hopeless photos. Yes you can see some more in the resulting photo than with the Exmor R sensors, but still not usable.
2. I think we will be impressed with the battery, this is the first Triluminous phone, the pure blue LED will be very power efficient compared to phosphor coated white LED. Expect this to own Note 2 hard in battery life for webbrowsing, and to pulverize it in talk time.
3. Sounds like the Huawei Mate is the phone for you, adequate chipset, good phone (but so low PPI..)
4. Im partly with you on this one, the resolution is not high enough for this size. If they made it 2560x1440 then im sure 6.44 would be great. Otoh the sheer size is going to be a selling point for Z Ultra.
My bottom line would be, "No LED = No Thanx", i cant let Sony decide when and where i will get acceptable photos, if for example you date your new girlfriend i doubt you get good photo memories in a dark restobar. Wait for Note 3.
