The Monster, 20 Sep 2013Who are you laughing at? Yourself? Ok. Because the Note 3 is still a phone, it's still very co... moreSure, if you like ji**ing over useless specs and what not. Others may prefer fluidity, stability, design, call quality, good cameras, long standby or music playback time etc.
PodDigi, 20 Sep 2013I dont want to raise any questions here as I have been a GSM Arena follower for a while now. B... moreYes, we already know that Z1 can take amazing photos, clearly this is a defective unit, i guess the lens isnt mounted 100 parallel to the sensor. You dont see any of this in for example the quite impressive Z1 photo of Petronas Twin Towers.
GA, your low light samples are jokes at best, very worthless, please work out a consistent low light strategy to include in your future reviews.

PodDigi, 20 Sep 2013I dont want to raise any questions here as I have been a GSM Arena follower for a while now. B... morei agree with you, the other units of xperia z1 have much better image quality than this one
here are Sony Xperia Z1 photo samples through different firmware revisions: http://www.xperiablog.net/2013/09/05/sony-xperia-z1-photo-samples-through-different-firmware-revisions/
I dont want to raise any questions here as I have been a GSM Arena follower for a while now. But one of my friends back in India got his new Z1 just couple of days back and he sent me some pictures from that. It was absolutely stunning and was miles ahead in quality as compared to pictures posted here on GSM arena. The pictures were much much better than my S4
- Looks like the unit that GSM arena used had some serious issues as it was a demo unit
- Z1 does have HDR mode. It is surprising to see why did the GSM arena tester did not found it.
- Strangely regarding the battery results, the guy who bought it informed that even after pretty heavy use of phone whole day that was 3 hours of video playback, 3 plus hours browsing and calls he still had 30% batter on his phone after 12 hours. which i think is pretty decent. That is infact better than S4 for sure as I have been using it for a while now.
I would request GSM arena to please review the whole camera and battery section again with a new unit or production unit as lot of result you have posted is not accurate.
The lens on this camera is flawed. The 1/3 right side of the lens creates blurry/soft pictures. I would like to verify that by flipping the camera over and taking a picture again of the same area. If the blurry/soft is on the 1/3 left side, it could be a hardware issue.
Hopefully this is an isolated issue on this Z1 model, as I am seriously considering this, the LG G2, or the next Nexus 5.
OH MY, so many SAMMY FANS in here.
always talking crap and trying to be the "best".
just go with your phone and let the other get what they like.
Rubbish battery life kills this stone cold dead. Sony are idiots for not addressing this. When will companies learnt hat we want phones to last several days not several hours (or in the Sony's case, several minutes).
Sea-Breeze, 20 Sep 2013Am so happy to hear that ... give us a small review about the camera and battery please :)Yes tell us about the battery and the camera, does it "fail to impress".
TMach, 20 Sep 2013Got my white version today and been playing around with it all evening. I would say the review... moreNice one, that's what we need to hear, hands on from from people that have got the real phone not a pre-production units, enjoy your Z1 *thumbs up*.

Xperia Z Ultra did a better job with battery as it has 3000mah unit to power a 6.4“ screen of similar nature,so the display may not be the problem here and an update may possibly improve upon the battery life.
Same goes for camera as some reported it to have a good camera.
Sony promised a 4.3 update soon and it may help to achieve better perfomance.
Sony should put the display of LG g2 in their next flagship.
No more triluminous bullshit....
james79, 20 Sep 2013And have you ever heard of the Xperia Z ultra? Lol! Note 3 and Z ultra are phablets and cant r... moreWho are you laughing at? Yourself? Ok. Because the Note 3 is still a phone, it's still very compact and can fit into almost every pocket out there, it's even lighter than this Z1 with 0.7" of more display! hence is still can be compared to any phone out there. The Ultra on the other hand, is a tablet, NOT a phone nor a phablet or whatever. Its screen is simply too big, plus the thick bezels, the weight, you got the picture. Note 3 is the smartphone to beat.
