The big issue here is that even though it's still 99% guaranteed to win either way the Nokia 1020 aspect of the review is not fair.
We are using PurView scaled samples majorly down scaled to retain mega amounts of detail. While all the other devices are going off full resolution pure as taken shots. I understand most people will use the scaled feature so maybe both could be used...However for the main of the comparison it is only logical, fair, and makes sense to compare to the full resolution 38MP samples to see how the camera handles conditions at it's full resolution.

Six, 16 Oct 20131st is 1020, where is 808 it should be 2nd, Z1, One, Galaxy S5, iPhone, LG G2 (or even N8).Actually the 1020 does not overcome the 808 entirely like people think.

And if you have to use being "the man" or a "man" as an excuse for doing or not doing something....Then you just make yourself out more to be what ever you think you negated...Like manly or liking men or whatever...Men can wear skinny jeans. A real man does what he wants not what society raised him to or dictates him to do.

Best review. Nokia Lumia 1020 crushes other phones in terms of photography. I regret for returning at $50 loss. I'll get it soon.

as soon as i saw this six way shootout and n1020 is competing,i know it will take the flag.but it should've not be in it. its like bringing in a dslr camera with smartphones.doesn't seem right.

Anonymous, 14 Oct 2013Depends. Are you wearing skinny jeans? If not then generally yes. No, im not wearing skinny jeans coz Im the Man. & Im currently using N8. . . I seen many android users with larger screen such as sgs3, sgs4, htc one, & xperia Z. they don't put their phone inside their jeans pocket when they setting in the chair/bench, step up through the stair. If they do, it easy crack or broke their phone.

Sammy, 15 Oct 2013The verdict is not what I would've expected after reading the review! I had the iPhone in the ... moreYup. It's nice to see that despite a less capable sensor a company is able to being it up to second place "aka Note3".
Although the One does leave a little to be desired as full as full resolution and fine detail goes it really performs fairly well actually. The idea in Ultra Pixel really flexes some muscle. In every day scenario and low light performance it does quite well and is no where near as terrible as claimed.
Can't wait to see an update UP camera.
