Does anyone who owns this phone please share your thought about camera feature? What I care on the phone are nice screen and picture and video quality. I tried to find detailed spec on samsung and att website but no luck.
Thx a lot
John, 01 Dec 2008Don't blame Samsung for the huge let down that is the lack of WLAN on this phone. It has ATT l... morethis isnt a poor mans omnia. it is a mid range touch phone for people who dont need a smart phone. it is exactly like the f480 which they offer at t-mobile. this phone isnt a smart phone and will never be a smart phone. this is for people who want a touch phine that dont want to shell out the money for an iphone or a touch pro. if you want an omnia that bad switch to verizon and get one from them. if not this phone is brilliant. i messed with one at the att store and it worked like a charm. the only times i missed buttos were cause i didnt push them. when you hit the right spot it works every time.
Don't blame Samsung for the huge let down that is the lack of WLAN on this phone. It has ATT logo written all over it, trying to force their outrageously expensive data plans down users throats. Cut the WLAN on a smartphone and it is so badly crippled that once you buy it you will be force to get the data plan and triple your monthly bill in the process. You cheap out on the phone and then you pay ten times the full price over the length of the 2 years contract. So, don't get this poor man's Omnia, but get a real Omnia on the ebay or elsewhere and screw ATT ripoffs.
WoW another touch phone? STILL NO WIFI?! zomg samsung is a letdown...
had this phone for about 2 weeks, best phone ive ever owned. the OS is blazing fast, no waiting for menus to load or anything like that. it has a standard size headphone jack, so no adapters to buy. texting is alot easier than the iphone because of the bigger buttons on screen. I purchased the HTC fuze, and like every other windows mobile phone ive owned, it made me want to throw it at a wall. returned that after only 2 days and got this phone. best decision i ever made.
Anonymous, 26 Nov 2008How many Omnias does Samsung have to make? Lol. This is where they lose big time with the iph... moreNobody is loosing it to iPhone. Get your facts straight. This is not OMNIA. Omnia is suppoed to be realeased on AT&T later. It's not windows, just touchwiz. And finally this is what AT&T asked for from samsung. It's not for international market. Unlike Apple Samsung is not a one product wonder. They have different models to cater different segment.
VERY POOR screen resolution (
Poor UI base on Windows mobile...
Pathetic phone for trendy morons
How many Omnias does Samsung have to make? Lol. This is where they lose big time with the iphone. Apple does not have to make 10 iphones, only firmware updates. That way you can keep your existing iphone and just improve from it as updates become available.
How you gona use the gps if there is no os?
Useless phone according to me.
Anonymous, 20 Nov 2008what does WLAN do for the phone anyway...why is it so important...is 3g the same thing...someo... morein response to your query; WLAN or WIFI isn't really important at all. for one you have to be in an area or abode where you can access password free wifi to get the internet. So its pretty dam limiting. whereas for a few bucks you can use 3g to get internet virtually anywhere in metropolitan areas making it actually useful in day to day scenarios. WiFi's pretty old school and void if u have 3g access on your phone. hope that helps.
just picked one up and love it! one of the best and most accurate screenS i've used to date. not up to par with the iphone, but what really is? internet experience is great and t9 is superb. posting this quick review from my eternity actually. thought haptic feedback was just a gimmick but it's actually really helpful. the att tv is amazing and youtube connections are near instant with minimal buffering. headphone jack is one of my favorites but the volume has only seven levels..sort of a let down but the music player is very ipod touch and supports album art. speaker is pretty decent, very acceptable for casual listening. bluetooth is blazingly fast, hitting nearly 140k in my nonscientific tests. transfers 4mb in just under 30 seconds. not a fan of the small, skinny, and seemingly delicate charger connection. connections via the pc suite are seamless and very easy to setup. camera has photo and video mode with tons of customization options. biggest nag on my end is the third party java app nag screen when the program wishes to Access the net. especially annoying with gmail when i'm trying to delete unwanted emails. besides that, i don't have many cons with this simply amazing device. if you are second guessing your decision, don't! go purchase one now!
this is for att only guys. free on wirefly w/ 2 year contract. i almost ordered it but not even FM radio??? U.S versions of all phones suck.
Samsung is producing way too many touchscreen phones. They all share pretty much the same features, so I don't know why they are doing this. It's an overkill.
I have had the Blackjack, Moto Q9h, Tilt(Kaiser), LG VU, iPhone 3g and now the Eternity in the last year. This phone beats them all hands down. The UI is incredibly fast and it plays my MP4 videos flawlessly. I could care less about Wifi. I never used it once on the Tilt and only a couple times with the iPhone because the app store forced me to. If I have WiFi access I'm going to use my laptop not my phone.
There is no comparison to the iPhone when it comes to text messaging. This phone is the best texting phone I have ever used. The onscreen keyboard is as good as it gets without a physical keyboard IMO. Also, you can easily get your Outlook contacts in the phone by using the Phone Editor in PC Suite. Just import your Outlook info into Phone Editor and copy from there to the phone. The BT in the phone is mint. It even asks when you disconnect A2DP if you want to continue listening on the phone speaker or not. There are so many little touches like this that make this phone a pleasure to use.
What an utterly pointless piece of kit. Half the spec of the Omnia, OK probably half the price but you get what you pay for. Retrograde step here.
who cares if it doesnt have wifi. all the places where you would pick up wifi you would more then likely have a computer and you would have 3g in those places so you wouldnt need wifi anyways. this is the most BA phone ATT has ever come out with in feb this phone s mine.
