Samsung Windows Mobile Touch UI CommunicAsia 2009

Two new members of the WinMo-running Omnia family complete the list of Samsung announcements for today. The Samsung B7320 OmniaPRO will appeal to heavy texters with a full QWERTY keyboard, while the Samsung OmniaLITE is targeted for users on a tighter budget.

Samsung B7300 OmniaLITE

A newbie in the Samsung lines is the B7300 OmniaLITE. It inherits much of the original Omnia features but is positioned in a way lower segment.

Along with the new design comes the brand new TouchWiz 2.0 which should make B7300 OmniaLITE user-friendlier than its elderly brothers. Users also get multi-push email access and preloaded document viewer and editor that as usual ships with Windows Mobile 6.1.

Samsung B7300 OmniaLITE will also sport HSDPA and Wi-Fi support - the Opera browser also comes preinstalled. The other features include a video player with multi-codec support, built-in 3 megapixel snapper and GPS receiver.

Samsung B7320 OmniaPRO

The bar-shaped Samsung B7320 OmniaPRO is in fact an Eurasian version of the Samsung i637 Jack. Coming in a nicely compact body it sports a 3-megapixel camera, 3G with HSDPA, GPS and Wi-Fi connectivity. It will run on the Windows Mobile 6.1 Pro but will be upgradable to Windows Mobile 6.5, when it becomes available.

Samsung B7320 OmniaPRO will rely on a 528 MHz CPU for all the calculating stuff and will come complete with 256 MB of RAM. The rest of its key features include FM radio with RDS, Bluetooth and USB. The landscape display will measure 2.4" in diagonal and will sport QVGA resolution.

Unfortunately at this stage there is no information regarding the availability or the pricing of B7320 OmniaPRO and B7300 OmniaLITE. Stay tuned for further details.

I love the B7320 handset but one thing i have issues with is that at times it reaches a point i can't recieve messages or send at all. So mostly i have to do location updates to revive the short messages service. I would also like to ask, onc...
