i've been using this phone for about two weeks already and all i could say is THANK YOU SAMSUNG FOR THIS DUAL SIM PHONE!!! this is a very NICE PHONE. Very NICE.
But where is the USB Cable? U
My concern is with the voice clarity meaning can you hear the person loud and clear on the other side and vice versa and is the voice clarity something like what nokia phones offer???
C5212 is expensive than D780. D780 size and keypad little uncomfortable. But overall it is good. I am planning to get SAMSUNG C5212 DUOS.
Can anyone advise about it?
digi_bwn-india, 20 May 2009Push star button when a video is playing, it will be full screen.Sorry full screen will be by pushing # key.
I am using for last 6 days . It is ok. Everything is functioning well. No lagging, rebooting. Battery backup is quite less only for two days with moderate use. FM receiver and radio recording is amazing. Ringtone and sms tone setting is not difficult but not so easy as nokia. But remember its a Dual SIM phone.
new samsung user, 22 May 2009i got my new c5212 unit yesterday and i'm very pleased with its overall capabbilities, particu... moremine has no lagging problem..
what usb cable is compatible for this unit??
i got my new c5212 unit yesterday and i'm very pleased with its overall capabbilities, particularly its dual-sim functionality. however, i noticed that there is some time delay when i open my message inbox. sometimes, the delay is about 3-4 seconds. most of the time it's about 2 seconds. also, pressing the OK button to make a reply also takes about 2 seconds to bring you to the next screen.
what could be the reason for this? is this also happening to other users of this unit? thanks.
As said earlier there is no need to reboot the phone to text/call to use the other SIM
Just press the switch SIM button at the right side of the phone when selecting contacts..notice the top left SIM icon switching for SIM1 to SIM2
As for texting just press the switch sim Button when you are composing a text message, before sending it.
Thanks for the Info guys

Mahyah, 19 May 2009This is my first time to use Samsung brand. What I considered using this particular C5212 at f... morefor Full Screen View of an image, select View so it is on the screen, then Options and item 1 at the top of that menu. i'm afraid Samsung's interface is like this all over, there's quite a lot of "walking" to get where you want..
Anonymous, 19 May 2009whats the problem in customizing msg tones?the tone you want to set has to be in the phone memory, Sounds or Music folder. and you cannot set it from those folder, as the only Set As options from the tone file itself are Ringtone, Caller Ringtone and Alarm Tone. you have to set from Phone Profile menu.
This is my first time to use Samsung brand. What I considered using this particular C5212 at first was its active capability for dual sim. I really find this very convenient to use and so with the other features. In fact I really like my new unit. But there is just one thing that I'm a bit not satisfied with it. It is on how to VIEW ON FULL SCREEN on an image and video. I see also that it is not highlighted on the OPTIONS. Is there anything I can do with this or perhaps does this need an upgrade?.. Your advice would be appreciated. Thanks.
large display, which is clear despite the low resolution
improved interface with easy sim selection
both sim can use gprs/mms
large internal memory
attractive music player display
takes far too many button presses to select sms recipient (recent recipients are in a submenu instead of top menu)
using the reply button for replying an sms still does not default to the sim that received the sms, have to check this before sending
customization optons limited or hard to set, example sms alert tone
casing rather prone to fingerprint and attracting dust
switching on bluetooth (to receive an item) is a hassle (have to open options menu, and scroll past device name editing option to switch on)
not to keen on the big chrome navigation button, which has no backlight
red and green buttons hard to locate in the dark, tend to find 1 and 3 buttons instead as they have slightly higher profile
after using 3 weeks and comparing with D780 that i got in july last year, this is a good and pretty smart phone with an improved user interface though slightly weaker construction. for me, the best would still be the body of D780 and the mind of C5212. it seems Samsung have carved out a niche market in dual sim handphones, since despite the lower specs and the C5212 coming out a year later than the D780, the price of the new model is not very much lower than the old one.
