This is one of the best phones i've ever had.
Being used to the nokia setup, it took me a few days to get used too the d500. But unlike poor Dominiq, I made a shortcut to the most frequent functions ,a feature that nokia don't have, which made life as whole lot easier. I also like the bluetooth functionality for transfering mp3's.
I've not had any problems with the sliding part of the handset and it does seem pretty sturdy when you look at it and use it. Don't forget though (as someone else mentioned in this forum) that you don't need to slide the phone open to make/receive calls if you've got an address book.
You need to buy a USB cable for the D500 and download the EasyStudio software from the Samsung website. This has a file transfer facility allowing you to upload MP3s and so on from your PC to your phone. I tried using infra-red with my laptop but it was very slow - USB is a better idea.
hi guys,i keep thinking in buy tht phone,i hear about it's potentials, but i have 2 question, whether the mp3s player is stereo or not!!!wht abt the video recorder,is it a 10 sec recording time only!!! ,thnx in advance all of ya

My phone is Samsung D500.I recived it a week ago. It's a greate phone. The camera is super.
But there is a thing i dont now...how can i get mp3 files from a computer?
the phone is really good, ive only had it for a couple of days and i cant work out how to put mp3 songs on it, i bought the lead and everything but there are no instructions telling me how to do it can anybody help???
hi i am going to get a d500 but could anyone tell me if the sliding part of the phone wether its any good
Sorry guys, but have to say this phone was a huge let down, and its going back.
Texting is a hassle as you have to go through about five different menu's just to access your address book, with options like, 'Do you want to send to more than one person, do you want to save, etc. With the actual send option being half way down the list rather than quick access at the top. So i thought instead of this i'd choose the name first, then click 'send sms', making the menu faff irrelevent, but once i'd typed my message and clicked send it asked me again who to send it to. So i chose the name again, but to my dismay, it sent the message twice to the same person. Aghhh!! Not to mention the loose and creaky fitting between the two halfs, and the annoying sound effects. I heavily rely on my current phone's alarm clock, but the D500 has a list of 5 really,(and i stress REALLY) annoying tunes to wake up to, what ever happened to a traditional alarm ring.
Samsung maybe at the forefront of aesthetics, but they seem to lag in usability.
Whats up. Can you talk on the phone if you do no slide it up or do you have to slide the phone up in order to talk on it?
