Why so many complain about the D600, I fix and sell phones and own many gadjets, I wanted a phone that would work proper with my motorola blutooth headphones for mp3 + good camera and video and good battery, THIS PHONE ROCKS. I have 30gb + 60gb video ipod + nokia 8800 and nokia 6630 now they are all resting in my top drawer and I carry this. You people want to much but aint gonna get it. Its only a phone! and it works
let me start off by saying: I love clamshells, not sliders or bar type phones, so I was a little anxious about getting this.
not exactly being able to afford the latest phones every month, this phone will have to last me a while, and after seeing what it can do, it will.
the camera is 'okay' but as many people have pointed out, it lacks autofocus.
here in canada, transflash is a little but more difficult to come by. it's internal memory is a little...lacking (especially if you start putting high-bitrate music onto the phone) but the external memory solves that.
the mp3 player's quality is "okay" copared to other phones, or even other mp3 players. it's great and does its job without much problem, although I wish that the port for the headphones would've been the standard type to let you use your own.
it lacks an IR port, but that is a non-issue for most people. the USB transfer speeds are a little slow, but just be patient I guess.
overall, it's a very good phone. I'd definately reccomend it.
I use it as a mp3 playa headphones & sound systeme. take a fiew pic s & vids phonecalls every day use tv out sume times .the stanbye after a day of usage is short .Im concidering buying extra... bateries...
if you dount whatsh youre movies full screan all the time and mp3 & video ring tunes at the same time phone call comes in .thats why 1 thing at a time .Imagin the phone without the key lock make shure that batery goes from 0% to 100% charge wait less than 20 mins to unplug it after 2 or 3 times in a row it gets better .
had my d600 for sometym now, n i think its great.
but, when i made an mp3 song as the incoming ringtone, no matter how loud i set it, in the first 2 seconds of an incoming call, it will always be the minimal sound before continuing with the loud sound. does anybody noe any setting that can get rid of this or m i gonna haf to be stuck with this?
any suggestion is greatly appreciated =)
To Sarah: Go to your provider ( internet, call ) and then look or ask for your provider settings, then it might work.
To Venus: Well what can i say? I can say you buy the D600! But it's your opinion! So you have to decise which one you will buy, don't ask others, they will only give some advise which phone you could buy, well other people advise's are good, BUT EVERYTHING IS UP TO YOU! LOOK FOR YOURSELF BECAUSE IT'S GOING TO BE YOUR PHONE! NOT US!
Battery: Well i hear alot of people complaining about the battery which don't have be a problem, or your battery just really s*cks. Mine is excellent no any problems. When battery is up, charge it to fullup! I do charge it when the battery is still at the half, when i need to do a long call. Clean your battery for dust!!! Might work.
Im quite dissapointed loved the phone when i 1st got it really did!!but ive had it 3months and within that time the sound has lessoned i can barely hear it now-my dad a couple of weeks ago got it again hes doesnt sound loud loud but ive compared them and hes is louder!so ive rung vodafone and there going to send me another one out2morrow a recon one...i just have a feeling its not gonna make much difference for long.
It is a good phone, but slighly expensive. But sometimes it hangs. Is there any solution to this?
Has anyone seen the chrome version of this phone on the carphone warehouse website?? it looks great!! it's coming out in april...
use the software given and then drag your image into download image (samsung pc studio)
I have to say I'm disappointed in this phone. Either I'm very unlucky or the battery in this phone sucks. The second time I charged it the battery died after a two minute phone call. I returned it and got a new phone. I used it for about a month when it started doing the same thing. The battery goes out after receiving an SMS, using the alarm or anything after just being fully charged. This is not because I abuse the battery. I always fully charge the phone and let it empty before charging. I never partially charge. Has anyone else had a similar experience with this phone or am I really unlucky?

I Have the same problem, I am very happy with this phone but battery, some times goes empty in few minutes for no reason.

To Rods: Well go to the shop or send it back and ask for a new one!
To Prettymeh: You can put picture's by installing the PC-STUDIO-3 and the driver and then you could picture's on it.
can anyone tell me how to put pictures from my frone to the computer... pls help!!!!
I just got a D600 with no provider service.
When I put my SIM card, the screen still display "Insert SIM". Does anyone know how to go through this problem ?
I am not sure for one thing - Whether the phone has USB 2.0 support. The difference between USB 1.1 and 2.0 is very big. USB 1.1 is much much slower than USB 2.0. If the phone supports only USB 1.1, it will be deadly to wait to copy all information you have to your 512MB flash.... I have to check this thing, because I myself will by 512MB trans flash.
To H.L. About sending and storing sent messages. When you send a text, the phone will ask you whether to send the message only or save it and send. If you choose save and sent, then it goes to sent folder.
To John. Your phone is not really recharging. This happens beacuse the USB also has power supply (5 volts), but actually it cannot recharge your phone. This is normal. When you install the software you need - PC Studio 3.0, and modem driver for USB, you are ready to upload/download files.
To Justin. Videos are playable at full screen. The camera cannot be compared. It is 2 mp camera and the E398 camera is VGA - 640x480. The difference is like the distance between moon and earth. :)
To khizer and all of you who are concerned about flash cards. Your phone can act like a flash card reader. When you put USB in "Mass storage" it will become flash reader (Settings->Phone settings->USB->Settings->Mass storage). Just plug USB cable into the phone and PC. Then it will be available in My computer as Removable device (Windows users. If there are linux users it is a little more difficult).
thats where i got my Microsd transflash reader. It works fine.
when watching a video hold key 1 and then the video will go to full screen.
