A big thanks to everyone who replied to my dilemma (Samsung D600 vs Sony Ericsson K750).
Searching and reading from other places, it seems that someone should be worried more on "the restrictions of the D600 software (eg not being able to use the mp3 player in the background while texting etc, not being able to assign custom tones for messages, only two skins available..." etc rather than the "the quality of construction or performance" of the D600.
I have also read that the phonebook of the D600 is not the best out there.
It gives you dual entries (from the phone and the sim card) and you don't have the option to just see only one kind (so you will not need to scroll double entries). Is this really the case?
This sounds annoying...since I make a lot of calls everyday (therefore I greatly need a fast way to find entries) as well as txt messaging.
I must state here that I do not place great importance on the MP3 playing issues, since I would not spend battery life for listening to music - I may as well use my portable MP3 player.
Do you know (or have heard?) whether SAMSUNG is coming up with a new firmware for D600 (soon) that might solve the issues that we have been discussing?
I hope they do... not just for firmware but also for their PC Studio. The various online forums are full of questions and complaints on this too...
Thank you so much for taking the time to read an reply.
In any case, I have to make up my mind by tomorrow, the latest... Going either for the Samsung D600 or the Sony Ericsson K750...
D600 is such a pimp phone!!!

any bad/good experience about the d600 send on e-mail please
how can anyone not get on with this phone its one of the best one i have ever owned. i got the k750i on saturday for a new toy but took it back as i found it crap. give me samsung d600 any time wow what a phone
To Abdul Rab: The option is not there, but i have seen it somewhere but i don't think it works it's not familiar to me. Don't play games on your phone buy a Xbox or anything else it's eating your battery-life, phone are not made for playing;)
Just My 2 Cents Though.
To Ian: Because the phone only support MP3, AAC, MP4, 3GP. I think you have put a WMW file or a other file into your phone. So look if it's a supported file!
i am trying to download music from my library and okline and when its downloaded it will not play, just comes up with message "unsupported file format"
To HotMyK: When playing the speaker uhu it's kinda normal for my ears no annoying background sounds. With the headseat it's like that you have a little more bass (3d) but 3d is off. But it's only my words it's better to hear it for your own, so you have the idea how it sounds.
wanna put ur phone in silent mode....just press the right hand bottom most button for 2 sec....same to exit from silent mode as well...
can anyone tell me about the quality of the sound when playing MP3's in the headset or speaker?
-To JJT: hehe yeah ofcourse.
-To Vinni: Maybe you should set up a name or a map for it where you can import your files trough there.
-To Reddy: aiit that's a bit sucky. but yeah nothing is perfect.
My opinion of the sliding mechanismn, well i love the sliding, but for the camara they could set it in the sliding to prevent damage
but at another side it's handy so you don't have to open your phone for it.
I'm a normal user, i sometimes listen to MP3's and other things but for the rest of it i make calls and receive and that things.
The comfort of the keyboard is nice for me just the right size:).
This is just my opinion of the ABC :)
the phone is difficult to use as it has no silent button therefore it always is either on melody and vibration. this can be very irritating
I am having a problem syncing the phone with my Outlook 2003 calendar. All my appointments go into the phones Miscellaneous calendar tab and therfore they have no location. Does anyone know how to fix this?
How can I install a game(s) in my handset which is D600.. there is no option in its software and PC studio..
Please show me this thing if any one know ..
send info and instruction to my HOTMAIL address... ( email@example.com )
Thanks for your replies,i phoned samsung who told me it is the network so i contacted 02 and they told me they have restrictions on downloading files set at 1000kb so that explains it.
I had 2 D600 s. 1st phone- the slide was abit loose or something - when the slide was up and I pressed on the navigation D pad ,the slide would move downwards. The fitting when the slide was shut was also crooked one side.I returned the phone and got another one .
If you want this phone be sure to check that the individual hpnoe you hare getting is assembled well and all moving parts are working as they should.
However, any phone with a moving part eg slide form phones - will be susceptible to breakage compared to candybar phones which are more sturdy .
Please do not compare Sony Ericsson camera phones which are by far superior in quality to the D 600 's because of autofocus even if the pixels are the same. The magic is in the autofocus. The D 600 takes reasonably good pictures but as I have the W900i phone too - with 2 MP and autofocus I can compare both phones and say that the SE cameras are very very much better.
The D600 is a very touchy feely phone with its tactile looks and it is good looking and the quad band is a good feature but be prepared to compromise on other features
especially the T9 and phone book which will really annoy .
