vickyicq: congrats glad you fig it out. sorry i wasnt much help when you asked about it last time.
arron: 70pounds to replace.. wow... good thing i bought warranty that covers things like that. only costed 50 USD. 3.0 megapixel? lol j/p
henry tran: if you live in the USA. You can pick it up at a bestbuy, circuit city, or frys. Or buy it online, transflash/microSD. Or wait about a month since the 1gb is comming out this month. I hope. Waiting for that. Um... if you live outside of the USA sorry cant help you.
The d600 I purchased around 2 months ago. I have found the phone brilliant for quality sound, quality photos and videos with a whopping 3.0 mega pixel camera. My only fault is the strength of the actual lense (screen), being very flimsy, it cracked and cost a hefty price of 70 pounds to replace as the whole shell needs to be replaced. my total score for the d600 is 8/10. I recomend a protection case!.
A Solution to Get LOUD MP3 RINGTONES !!!
I figured out the problem with the mp3 player of the phone. For some reason, it changes the volume level of the mp3 so when you play it soudenly it plays too low. You can change this by increasing the volume level of the file, not to be confused with the volume level that can be adjust while playing the file. I used the Sony Sound Forge 8.0 and worked great. Now I can play LOUD MP3s, and set them as ringtones that I can actually hear in a crowded place.
I thought of letting you know since I was very frustrated with this feature.
If you guys have further questions let me know.
This is a great phone, compact and filled with features. But can anyone tell me what the max size trans flash that can be used with this phone?
Sean: Install the drivers to get the usb to work. Its on the studio disk.
gogogo: You should charge the phone for atleast 12 hours, I'd suggest using the usb to charge. Now i get 3 days of battery life with 2 hours of talk time.
nicksayle: good review
noname: edge basically allows you to surf the web faster, depends on your services. other than that, im not quite sure.
Well, i think that this phone is good but the d500 is smaller and the camera is in the sliding bit and in the D600 isnt, its good that you can put it onto the telly and that you can print wirelessy and that u can put your own music onto it and stuff,
kn sum1 explain wah edge is dnt care if it's frikin triband wah eva bt jus tel me dah main difference
you can get it on orange pay as you go for £279 in littlewoods catalouge www.littlewoods-online.com
I have had a D600 and a W800 for a few weeks now. This is simply an opinion, my opinion. Dont take this as a measured technical report on either product its just a user giving a users report. First the W800i supplied by Vodafone. Great phone and camera cant fault the picture quality or ease of use. Looks aimed at the teen market with its white and Orange case. good mp3 player with 512mg supplied as standard. All good so far. on the down side, the firmware is in a mess and stops the full use of this phone. Most not all, have had endless troubles with transfering files to the phone. There is no fix for this as yet and Sony E have removed the Update Service from there site due to the latest software being faulty too. If they ever sort this out it will be a quality bit of electronic gadgetry. The D600 has no faults so far and the Batterey problems do not exist with my handset. The phone is more stylish (though not difficult) the screen is possibly the best on the market. The file transfer is slow (500kb) There are ways to increase the speed but only when addressing to memory card (Transflash/MicoSD not supplied) The picture transfer is slow too almost puts you of bothering to transfer any at all. My vote goes to the D600 because it works. TV output, I thought I wouldnt bother using this feature, little to no chance of me doing a corporate presentation. I use it as my "dukebox" display for playing through my HiFi. I am fussy when it comes to sound. I am a musician and still use valve audio equipement. Ok so MP3 will never be as good as analogue, but trust me, I was blown away with the D600's audio stage. I plugged the L+R phonos into a pair of Quad one power amps and the comp video into a small TV set. The audio processing is as good if not better then the mother board bassed sound card on my pc. I must admit when I was first looking into these 2 phones I expected W800 to out perform the Samsung. The W800 does not work as it should. When it is fixed I would be stuggling to decide. Unless locked the W800 is always beeping in your pocket. The W800 has a good FM RDS radio, cant charge the W800 while MP3ing uses a shared headphone/charge socket. plus and minus for both phones on the features, but then if you had a handset with all the features now what would they be able to offer use next year, when sales of GPS systems start to tail off the majors will then start incorcorating this into your hand sets. give it a couple of years. We complain about services features gadgets that we want on a handset and all the why cant it do this or that. In reality most of my phone calls refer to pints of milk and a loaf of bread on the way home, so Quad band fax home networking email multimedia 256k colour screens, blah blah I can ramble on.... buy the D600 until the W800 is sorted out, you will only be stressed about returns and long phone calls to support centres etc. Or wait for the W900 to come down in price. The W800 is only a 750i in a different case therefore its only a facelift phone not a newer model.
i just bought this phone ytd n i think it's awesome . but one problem im having is that my computer wont detect the phone through usb . it charges when i plug it into the usb port but i just cant connect it using samsung pc studio 3.0 ??? anyone help ?? :-(
I believe the D600E has the EDGE support but is triband rather than quadband.
This phone is awesome. I upgraded from the D500 because the lack of the 850 band really killed reception in quite a few places here in the USA. It's got quite a few nice upgrades, and I really enjoy it.
For sure the price will drop with time, it's still quite new though, so dont wait for discounts just after xmas. But the marketing is just that: the company launches a product when they already developed a better one. They just give some time to make enough profit on the product. So in a few months Samsung will launch a sucessor for the d600 and the cicle of capitalism goes on... It's the same with everything else computers, cars, etc, etc.
Getting message "email network fail", have no idea what it means, didnt even try to set up the email yet... Anyone pls?
I got this phone 2 weeks ago, maybe the best in that range of reasonably featured-small-light-stylish phones without OS. There are a few things I dont understand though: 1.Why there's no ONE single decent ringtone to use??? 2.Why one cannot do anything else while listening to mp3? 3.Why there's no visual icon for the shortcuts on idle mode (one have to remember what is up, down, left, right) 4.Why there isnt a ringtone+vibrate mode?, its one or other 5.Why spend phone memory in those photo frames options that not even 12year olds would find it cool? 6.Why one cannot upload wma files into it?
