well when u decided to block access to your messages and pictures it asked u 4 the password. when u put that password in then it activated the privacy so you need to remember what that password was. theres no universal one try doing something like 0000 it might work

This phone is great.. I have had it for nearly 2 months and have never had a problem. It takes great photos, and is being used all the time as I have a 6month old son in tow.. Took it on holidays and it never missed a beat, the battery lasts nearly 2 weeks with out being used or a week, with calls flat out
Pluses:
Decent 2MP
QVGA Video recording
Replaces a basic camera easily.
Full screen MP4 playback of videos - take movies, MTV, etc. on the go quite easily!
Plays MP3s just fine.
Loud speakerphone speaker = great for listening in loud environements.
Nice, bright screen lets you view videos nicely indoors and in shady areas -- not quite bright enough to see much in direct sunlight however. But bright enough in all indoor conditions.
Fast OS - generally no or few delays going into any menu setting and making changes.
Easy drag & drop to flash card - just set it in USB mode, connect cable, and off you go! (Otherwise, install Samsung software, and use their file browser to install to camera's internal memory and/or copy from flash card contents to phone flash memory and vice versa.)
Lots of internal memory for photos, MMS, etc. No real worries about running out.
Can password lock access to the contacts, messages, files, mp3, videos, etc. so security is good on this phone. Can't lock dialing access however, so people can still call out =(
Decent keyboard, big enough keys to text fast. (However, minus is it sometimes misses a character if you're texting super-fast. that's SuperFast. Anything slower is just fine.)
Easy to get to flash slot - hot swapping okay.
Email POP/IMAP into a handful of accounts is useful, but listing of messages could use a smaller font to display more incoming messages on each screenful. Display of message text uses smaller font, so no real problems reading a lot of text sent to you.
WAP browser lets you download MP3/DOC/JPG/etc. files to your flash memory (some in conjunction with Opera Mini initiating the download), so you can even grab a Unix server manual, a few diagrams, and the latest DOC file for your to-dos online and view/use them offline on the phone.
easy navigation through menus, decent for a complex phone. Although they could make more use of the high-res display and squeeze more options/text into a screenful.
Minuses:
No UTMS.
So-So reception in poor to fair locations. Other phones do better, even the USA T-Mobile T509 model. (you can bring up the RF meter using *#8999*324# on both and see)
In 0-2 bar areas, it can go drop audio during calls, force incoming calls to the voice mail, etc. because it can't grab & hold the signal that well.
Screen isn't as large as it could be, and not as flush with the front surface as the W810i, so it looks great by itself, but not that great when you compare with a W810i (not talking about resolution, but rather, how it looks off angle, etc.). LCD on the W810i handles off angle viewing better because it's not so recessed behind the glossy clear plastic window.
Could be larger - the casing has ample space for a larger screen.
Speakers at their loudest may distort if the audio/movie file volume is encoded too loud. (but you can always adjust the audio volume tables in the firmware to make all sounds louder or quieter at each volume step yourself - see howardforums.com forums for the instructions)
System will crash and reboot when running some Java apps such as Opera Mini over a long period of time -- just shows that the implementation of JAVA in this phone doesn't truely protect the OS from rampant, beta Opera Mini (even the latest version will do this sometimes).
Occassional pressing of menu buttons too fast when the OS hasn't caught up will lock and hang the entire interface -- nothing changes, moves, works until you pull the battery and restart. Press the buttons slower and you'll be okay.
PC Studio 3.0 has the problem on my machine of a C++ Runtime error. Others have it as well. My fix? When loading anything - SMS messages, Contacts, etc. from the phone and waiting for the status window to complete, make sure you grab the title bar of that window, and hold it down until the job is finished, then release. It totally fixes the crashing problem and lets you use the software.
PC Studio 3.0 can't access the MMS messags on my D600 for whatever reason I can't figure out. Only can access SMS messsages on the phone.
No IR port.
No Video playlist. Only MP3 playlist. Thus, videos must play manually one at a time.
======
Overall a pretty good phone with a few minuses, but overall worth the money. Fast OS, great Video playback and quality allows you to replace an iPod Video (yes, screen is brighter than the iPod Video, too; and you can drag & drop Playstation Portable PSP format MP4 directly into the camera and it'll play just fine), powerful speakers let you easily fill a room or listen outdoors in noisy environements, and document viewer lets you get by with the occassional Office attachment.
Opera Mini and Google Maps Mobile work fine, but limited by non-UTMS/3G and occassional JAVA crashes.
Photos and video are decent enough to replace a basic camera, and bluetooth printing/transfers lets you easily download/upload more.
Pretty much views or plays the popular MP4/MP3/JPG/BMP/GIF/DOC/PDF/XLS formats, so just drag and drop into the phone or memory card and you can view/use it on the go.
Decently small and compact so no real problems sticking it in a shirt pocket and go.
Wishes?
Bigger screen.
UTMS/3G
Better reception.
nope u can only view the pictures how they are i tried 2 c it in full screan 2 but u cant do it. does anyone know how i connect my fone to the comuutor via usb?? i have instaled it but down the bottom says its not connected?? iv gone to connection and pressed connect via usb but still dosnt work! can anyone help?? thanx
hi, iam jsut got the d600 and i need to know all the tips during using the phone
thanks
is there a way to view pictures in full like viewing videos in full screen? thanks.
Problems, problems, problems!
It's a cool phone, but a little dissapointing at the "soft" part: it's unacceptable for such a phone not to have the "make new folder" option... My photos are all over the place (images folder)! I have to search minutes to find one in particular...
I also found very annoying the fact that you cannot disable the "low battery" warning tone.
Does any of you folks know some hack for fixing these problems?
