Hi Everyone
I would just like to know if i can view all my MS office applications on the phone (PPT, EXCEL, WORD etc..??? Also please some one let me know what's the maximum recording time with video recorder? And what's the deal with the battery life plz let me know is it as bad as everyone is saying? I would really appreciate it if someone replied back.
Thanks
I recently bought this unit and I must say, it is a unit beyond my expectations. The first thing that struck me with this phone is its display. It is far more vivid than the display of my N70. Another thing that I like about this phone is its camera. Even in low light conditions, it is able to capture above average images, which I can't get in my N70 (a lot of noise). However, the speakers volume is too soft when using the music player without the headphone. Sound quality is pretty good, except that, when you turn it to its maximum volume, there's a little distortion... It's pretty easy to navigate through the phone menus. It's also weird that there are no profiles incorporated in Samsung units. I guess that's their style. Another thing is that MP3s can only be assigned to voice calls but NOT text messages. Overall, this is a very good phone. If you're looking for a sensible phone with excellent features, get this one. It's eye catching and filled with the best from samsung.
Hi again!
I found a way to record calls.
#*22671# AMR REC START
(Press 'C' after you've entered the code to get back the original calling screen.)
#*22672# Stop AMR REC
(It won't stop automatically when you put down the phone!)
The record will be in the audio folder.
It is better to do it after the call is established!
Thanks!
It is pleasue for me if I can help with something. We all need to find and use all extra feaures of this phone!
Best wishes to everybody!
To Ivo
Thanks for your help. I had to download something extra from Samsung website in the end and it works fine now. Cheers
sir ivo- thanks for taking the time and liberty to answer my questions regarding the video hehe ^_^
oh and to the guy who said the d600 has worse video than that of the se p910i
are you sure your unit is the d600?
the new d600?
this thing's video is one of the best CIF out there if I'm not mistaken hehe^_^
To Steph.
This is odd. MP3 format is standard that doesn't depend on the device. When you talk about MP3 player it must understand all kinds of MP3 formats. I think the problems are not in the music, it is in memory card's file system, maybe the Motorola software makes the music compatable only with Motorola's phones, or organizes the files in some way which is not understandable for D600. I was real fan of Motorola, but I am disappointed of them. I have never used Motorola V3x, but if you want to make the things compatable, use card reader. I transfer my files onto D600 by flashcard reader. I don't like to use any kind of software even the original one. I make everything manually via bluetooth or card reader. It is faster and in my case it is more reliable.
To mark.
Phone's mp3 player recognizes all types of mp3 (regardless of bitrate and samplerate) and aac. I don't think it supports iTunes. You have to find some software to do it.
I don't know why your camera records only few seconds. Try out this. Go to Menu->Camera->Record video->Then left button for Options->Settings. Set Recording mode to normal and Save.
About battery life. It will increase after some recharging cycles. Activate your battery properly in order to have more power and lifetime.
To james l.
Yes, it is better as trekker says. See the differences and decide for yourself, because it is up to the personal opinion.
its a good phone but when i download stuff from my pc on 2 my phone it ses the soft were is not copatibul
hello, for james.just get some converting software for the music.type in a search engine 'free download mp3 mp4'.even if you get a free trial it will still do the trick.
Have had the D600 for a while now,am disappointed that you cant use mp3's for text tones. The D600 is far better than the D500,had that one before upgrading and got bored very quuickly, plus the D500 has no memory input, and i use the D600 for music,80MB just aint enough. If your thinking about getting a new phone get the D600 now and enjoy it before this very nice phone is out dated...
Purchased d600 e 3 days ago, on a contract. Used to have a se p910I. Camera and video do not compare p910i is so much better, i got this phone for the mp3 player which i dont no much about. Problems i have at the moment, when i record a video it will only last between 9 and 15 secounds tehn it stops recording. Battery life only lasts just over a day. Video quality very poor especialy compared to the p910i. Also been trying all night to down load music on to my phone, first oif all i burnt a cd in to itunes software supplied with the phone and when i tried to drag and drop the phone wouldnt recognise the software, i then when in to the itunes store and purchsed a song, only to find that this was in the worng format again mp4 but the phone will only recognise mp3, is there a way of converting this to mp3 and where can you find music files compatabile with the mp3 player on the phone. PLEASE HELP ME SOMEONE IM AT MY WITS END, EMAIL OR PLEASE THANK YOU...
Thanks Mikey,
Another question for you. I have a 512mb card in the v3x with over 100 mp3's and ringtones. I went to a phone store and put this card in the D600 to hear the quality of the music and speakers however, the D600 picked up my playlist names but not any of my mp3's it stated it was empty and that the music was an unknown file type. Do you have any ideas as I dont' want to have to delete them all and put them back on using samsung software, not sure if it is because I loaded them up using motorola software???
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
To Ivo, thanks for the suggestions. Tried everything you said and still it doesn't work. Sent my d600 to samsung for warranty, will let you know what they find out soon.
thanks again.\
To Steph:
You only can personalize the ringtones with MP3. For text messege, you only can use the default tones in D600.
This phone has vibrate+ring, but first it vibrates 3 times and then it starts to ring.
Anyway, I think D600 is so much better than V3x, remember it has more resolution, TV out and a fancy desing.
Greetings!!
Hi I have the Motorola V3X and am considering getting the D600, can you please tell me does this phone have different fing profiles ie. silent, vibrate + ring, etc also can you use mp3 as ringtones and text tones. Last thing can you assign mp3's to peoples contacts so when they call or text you get a specific tone for them?
Would really appreciate an answer on this one as i like to have my friends listed with their own tones, thanks....
To cipher.
Yes, it will increase, but not above 20%. I own D600 for 6 months and now I can listen to mp3 up to 3 hours. Someone said that it is better to use headphones when you are listening to music or you are talking.
no....battery is awful that why i returned mine even tho the handset is good
hi guys, just wanted to know if any one is facing any battery life issue, got the handset 4 days ago & the battery runs out in a day (usage - approx 2hrs mp3 with headset & 30 mins talktime). Does the battery life of the handset increase after a few charging cycles ?
To mikeyemd.
Try out these things.Go to Settings->Phone settings->Extra settings->Check Voice clarity and Save. Then go again to Settings->Sound settings->Extra tones->Check Connection tone, Alerts on call and Indicative tones. Save and try what will happen. If noting changes, go to settings again and then to Reset settings. Check All and Reset. This will reset and load defaults to all settings. Security code will be asked for. Default is 00000000 (eight zeros). About software versions. Till now I haven't found two identical versions. I will try to find out what does these numbers and letters mean after D600.
To Sn00p16.
Yes, you can zoom in/out photos taken with the camera. But, they must not leave Photos folder. If you move them somewhere else, this function will not work. Videos can be played at fullscreen, but images cannot.
To samina.
Try out to write more decently and I will try to understand you. This is some kind of offical page. Respect all of us if you want to get help.
To spyman.
What can I tell you. I can compare something when I have it. I don't have Nokia neither Sonyericson. But I have seen pictures taken with these phones. See this page.

Here are some pics taken with D600, Nokia and W800. Make your decision.
Unfortunately there are many locked functions for customization. Why I don't know. But there are many advatages. Yesterday, I watched 300MB movie via TV-out. Very good quality and the frame rate was 25 fps. I am not sure what the frame rate is in video recording mode. As I see it is around 15-18fps. If light is good may reach 20-25 fps. I have to find out a way to measure it :)
To Sherod.
As we see, most people experience this problem. It depends on variaty of reasons - network signal strength, battery activation, on witch band phone works and so on. Defenetly the battery is not so strong, but when the phone has too many high-tech features, it requires more power. My 3 years old old Motorola E365 still holds 4 days standby and 6-7 hours talking :))) And what is the conclusion: Don't buy high-tech gadjets :) I'm joking :)
To Sineh.
No. You cannot see images at fullscreen. You can load them into phone's Image editor and you can process them (rotating, adjusting brightness, contrast and so).
You can upgrade firmware, but you cannot make it at home. I have tried but this work is dead. There are no offical flash programs and you have to use some hacked stuff which can damage your phone. I found only one program (not offical) but it could only use COM ports. The flashing process would take 7-8 hours. I haven't found any offical flash program. Changing/upgrading firmware may be done by offical technicans of Samsung. I know that first firmware versions are very buggy. I experienced this on myself. I was not ok with the phone until I had returned it for repairs and the technicans upgraded the firmware. After that no problems. I own this phone for 6 months.
I am from Bulgaria :) What about you?
The procedure called activation is as following:
When you get the phone from the shop its battery is not fully charged. Use the phone until its battery goes out.
Plug the charger and charge the phone for 12-14 hours. It is better to look when the battery indicator stops flashing, and replug the charger. It will start to flash again. After 12-14 hours charging, use the phone normally and when the battery is fully discharged, repeat again the procedure. This should be made 3 times. After that you can use your phone normally, and charge it until indicator stops flashing.
Take care to everybody!
Greetings and regards.
