Don, 05 Mar 2009Anybody tell me “the secondary sim is only for incoming or can I make calls from both sims…?” ... moreboth sims can be used for outgoing calls.... just go to your phonebook, search contact to call and select the sim by pressing the button at teh left side of the unit, below the volume button.

Samsungmobile is the best!
1. D780 Applications Menu - one Sim option#13 shows at one time. Not second Sim option shows#14.
2. One shows busy tone while calling on both the active Sim but at a time incoming calls only.
This can be resolve in new firmware version.

Jst got this PHONE...
Can any one EXPLAIN how can a person UPGRADE da FIRMWARE of this phone...
Problems :
1: Jst cannot find da option to Update da FIRMWARE in Samsung PC Studio (though there is a Update option but updates only da Samsung PC Studio)
2: How do we EXPORT contacts saved into da phone...i m finding a solution such as cut/copy/paste(da Studio dsn't operate if there is no Outlook Express installed. wtf .)

I have just bought the D780, I started to work in its software, and connected it to my PC, I wanted to transfer some music files & pics to it,but I have discovered that I can't locate the memory card through the D780 PC suite, but also when I have disconnect the USB cable from my PC, and check the mobile the memory card is working normaly.
I found that the options such as "to phone" or "to PC" are disabled.
Is there any body can help me in this matter, thanks.

u dont need to reboot the phone.
just dial the required number u want to call and ... morethanx, it works, you call the number and press the sim button on your left hand side, the one which changes primary standby , it will allow you to select the sim card you need to use, not necessarily making it parmanently primary or slave.

had a nokia e51. bought the d780 for the dual sim... that seems to be the ONLY advantage.
for no apparent reason, this phone just switches off. is there smthin i may be doin wrong?

take care.D780 will be replaced soon by C5212.
Main difference will (hopefully) be the possibility to use more memory (instead of 2GB ->4GB, or some say 8GB), a very small design fine tune while all other lamented disadvantages (no wlan, no 3g, poor battery, no umts) remain, of course also the advantages, like to be online with two sims. An important change and advantage is, that now the mobiles should support quad band. Anyway, I will buy the C5212.

dante, 17 Mar 2009bro how to use the second sim..every time the phone need rebot to call from second sim...help ... moreafter presing the number, again you press sim changing button, it will switch you to 2nd sim then you can use second one
no need to reboot again
same procedure for sms

well never go for this dual monster....reasons are...
1. irritating voice quality,extremely slow to hear the tone and even while talking...
2.messaging is a lot difficult and time taking....
3.display needs to be good in daylight....
