Mido, 30 Nov 2008Can I change the name of the network appears on the main screen? OR Can I disappear the name... moreYou cannot change the network name that shows on the screen.
You can change the name of your SIM cards so you can identify them as you like (eg. business / private)

Hi,
The D780 is great in term of dual sim cards, the signal strength is very strong that it will not drop your calls, but the voice clarity is bad and poor, in noisy environment barley you will hear or understand the other party.
I like the D880, because the voice quality is better but the signal strength is slightly weak comparing with D780, but acceptable.
I used the D780, and now using the D880, waiting for the D980.
Thanks

I really admire the smartness of the Samsung mobile sets. The same feature attracted towards opening the sight.

My opinion and suggestion is that if the dual sim feature in a basic phone is lodged. It will get more market share.

No more hanging around with two phones.

It's nice and simple phone to use once you get used to it. My only problem was forgetting to switch to the desired card before calling or sending SMS.

It makes calls and send SMS like any other phone by just selecting on the toggle button which card to do it from. Browsing and MMS can only be done from Card selected as Primary (don't forget to change the settings in order to browse or send MMS on new Primary Card).
If I don't want to be reached on the business number, I just deactivate the respective SIM at a touch of a button, and carry on with my private number.
With both SIMs active, if you receive a call on any of the cards, you will hear a tone alerting you that you have a call waiting, just as on any normal phone. You can then manage the calls accordingly.

Contacts can be managed and accessed on both SIM cards as well as phone memory. Extra contact info, such as address, e-mail, group or contact image are only available on phone memory.

The camera is more than enough for sending MMS. A flash could come in handy, but this is a DUAL-SIM PHONE, not a Camera.

The screen has nice resolution, but is a bit hard to see under direct sunlight.

The keys are nice to use, even for those with larger fingers. I have no problem using it with either the left or right hand.

Battery life went up to almost 7 days JUST ON STANDBY with BOTH SIM cards active.
With normal use, and both SIMs active, I get 3 days batery life.
Some people may think it is bad, but don't forget that the phone is receiving and searching for 2 network signals at the same time!

Bluetooth comes handy so you can send and receive stuff as well as use a bluetooth headset or a car kit.
Bluetooth headset will work for calls with both cards.

Some people say it is bulky, but if you put any two phones together I'm sure it won't be as usefull and as handy as this phone.
For a normal use and that which cell-phones were made for, (calling and texting) I really recomend it!
