Samsung have made this the D900 an i am sure it will challenge the N80 an K800i with the camera but only lose out on the radio but i recieved a email from www.mobilereview.com that Samsung now have made a deal to get radios on there mobiles so hope they can get it on the D900 before its released
Hello guys !
The D870 is coming soon! between july and august !
So be patient !
Not sure of K800 but sure it will be better than N80.
Samsung cam is argueably always better than those of Nokia's.
How might this camera match up to others of it level like SE's K800 and Nokia's n80?
Is this also called D900 (the slimest slider) which Samsung is going to show on Sviaz ExpoComm 2006?
The specs looks same.
it looks so much like d820... but it has a great cam... good phone!!! only wish that it is 3g capable den i would really really buy it... samsung always makes very stylish phone above all manufacturers... really love samsung phones!!!

Does this phone have a speaker phone capabilities? or I mean built in handsfree? Do not see it but see that feature on D520.. anyone knows?
For the anonymous poster who implied there was no comparison with the Nokia N73 – you are right. How can you compare the Nokia which is 26mm thick and weighs 134gm with the D870 that is a mere 13mm thick and weighs only 93gm? The Nokia is TWICE as thick and weighs almost 50% more that the D870.
It obviously depends where your priorities lie. Surprisingly, when I buy a mobile phone, that’s what I expect to get – a phone that is mobile (i.e. that I can slip into a pocket and not notice its there) - not a camera (I have a DSLR for that), nor an MP3 player (I can get an Ipod for that), nor a radio, nor an organiser etc etc. etc. – I just want a PHONE to be a PHONE (what a novel concept that is!) and to be in as small a package as is convenient.
The D870 meets those criteria, the Nokia doesn’t.
It may not be as good as it seems 'cos everybody thought the D600 was gnna b a great fone and its only now dey found faults in it so this one could end up da same.
BUT any1 lse fallen in love wiv it its sch a shme the UK wnt b gttin it ny tym soon i mean afta krismas u gotta b jkin!!!
Wow! Now this is agood looking phone. I just love its features, design, the way it is. Wow now this is great work, thats beautiful.
Thanks "DarkLord", so I was right..FM radio is not actually a phone feature..comes with acceseries.
And to the unknown, posted below.
D870 has the same specs without the Carl Zeiss optics and secondary cam (its not 3g).
But you can always compare n73 with Z710 that has 3.2 MP, 2048x1536 pixels, Autofocus, video(CIF), flash; secondary VGA video call camera etc.
However none of these are symbian like the n73.
what is to compare?????
nokia n73 3.2 MP, 2048x1536 pixels, Carl Zeiss optics, autofocus, video(CIF), flash; secondary VGA video call camera
how can you compare it with that???????
Well on my E730, i can only listen to the radio when the headphones are plugged in, and thats the same for other phones too as far as im aware. This is because the headphones & cable attached act as the ariel, without it the phone
cant pick up a radio signal. With E730 & headphones in you can enable the speaker and listen and it's quite good quality, but unplug the headphones and you loose the radio.
quite frankly i would like to see a full compoarison btwn n73, k800, ef91 and the d870. (also probably the z710). and not just the camera, as a total phone, screen, mp3 player the works and see who comes out on top. my guess would be the n73, but would can only hope that they do one.
I have a very besic question about fm radio in cell phone. Will appreciate if anyone answers.
I have noticed that nokia phones always comes with fm-radio and most of the samsung phones desn't.And people complain.
Then I heard that in some Nokia models you basically cant listen to radio on the speakers.Coz there is no build-in fm tuner. You have to attach the heardset which is actually attacted to a fm tuner to listen, so in other words you are basically using the phones battery to listen to radio and they call it as a feature that it has fm radio. Now thats a shame.
My question is, Is that the case with all the fm-radio phones or there are models with build-in fm tuner?
