Rajesh - what is your opinion on changing the default codes to increase the ringtone volume using *#8999*8378#. Have you tried it? Does it work? Also, any tips on improving the battery life. Only had the phone for just over 1 week - does the battery life get better?
hiii all great fone. i recomend it to you all! great cam fone as well as a great mps player. luv ma d900!!!!!!
I have a problem, the phone only holds 200 messages, and then 30 on my SIM card. I was wondering if there is a way to have the messages on the memory card, like Nokia's.
Thanks for any help! :D
Has anyone else had problems with Blue tooth with this phone? I got the phone in January and it's spent most of that time back at Vodafone. Samsung tell me that it could be a compatibility problem, but surely it wouldn't work at all rather than intermittently. Does anyone have any suggestions?
Before you remove cable click on the "safely remove hardware" in system tray. And remember when you unplug the cable, the usb setting comes back to 'modem'.
Users of Windows XP Pro do not have to click on the 'safely remove hardware' icon. There is no problem whatsover in just plugging in and out.
However, you are right, the phone will revert back to 'modem' everytime from 'mass storage'.
MIRCEA: Your memory card data cannot be accessed through pc studio. Connect phone and pc using cable. then go to settings>phone settings>usb settings (menu 9-2-8) and select MASS STORAGE, instead of modem. memory card data will be displayed as a flash drive in "My Computer". Before you remove cable click on the "safely remove hardware" in system tray. And remember when you unplug the cable, the usb setting comes back to 'modem'.
ALI: Re:message alert window. I've seen you repeating this question here, but I'm equally unaware of any method to hide the alerts window. You might have referred the codes also.I Agree with you in that there is no point in having both these and it would have been better without the alerts window. But there are other arguements also. If the message alert window doesn't appear, one has to go to messages>my messages>inbox and read the message, instead of clicking 'view' on the alert. Same is the case with missed calls -no quick reference.I don't think these changes in theme wallpaper are meant for indicating anything(you neednot look at the mobile screen to see whether it is day/night :-D )Only to keep the display lively. But samsung should have provided a hide option to alerts window, for people like you, who want to make more out of the device.
Continuing with the camera settings discussion, there is a definite purpose for the FULL SCREEN VIEW FINDER - when you take a photo and set as WALLPAPER.Regarding the size,I think 800x600 enough for viewing in phone(?)You can have large photos 2048x1536 also, but I'm not sure about the quality. I usually take photos to be printed,in size1280x1024.
Hi I'm Mostafa from Egypt,
Thanx for the great people and the great site!
I have a little Q , Can D900 carry 2G Memory cards??
Sorry Rajesh - the website is http://www.lightmaker.com/newsletter/v18_newsletter/july_06/samsung/player.htm
Rajesh - I wonder if u can help me with this question. I think it has been asked before but I cannot find any answer. When you are using the theme and you receive a text or missed call, is there any way not to have the missed call/text screen and just have the fireworks or the plane. There is a demonstration of this on the following website http://www.lightmaker.com/news...g/player.htm
wow it works! thank you so much Rajesh, you have been a great help :D many thanks, take care
Rajesh - appreciate your comments. Your knowledge is very impressive. Again, with regard to the camera settings - what size do you recommend?
Can anyone tell me why my PC does not recognise the micro sd card from my phone? the phone is showing it. i used PC Studio 3.0.1 and 3.1. the card is sandisk 1gb.
EMILY: (see my below post for you also)Copy videos only to 'DOWNLOADED VIDEOS' folder. If they are supported, you can send them to this folder. If you can send them to this folder, they won't say, 'not supported'.
the videos i sent into my phone cant be opened. it says file not supported...oh no...btw im sending the default videos from samsung studio pc into my phone :(
ALI: Here is my opinion(Let others come as well)
1.For capturing photos; superfine/Auto focus/scene-normal/exposure-center-weighted/ISO-automatic/flash-auto.
.........WHITE BALANCE is the key setting for making your photos colourful. I won't recommend 'Auto'. A big plus of D900 is that instead of WB values, the suitable situation itself is given, like daylight, cloudy etc.-try each of these- you'll get more colourful photos.
.............VIEWFINDER ;keep it in STANDARD RATIO MODE. This phone-camera, unlike other brands, doesn't shoot in landscape mode(a minus?). so if you select 'full screen' view finder, when the photo comes out, you will see things you did not want or see in the frame, while capturing the photo.
2.For recording video, I consider rec mode-normal /320x240/quality-normal or fine/standard ratio viewfinder/scene normal/flash off/ and WHITE BALANCE suitable to the light conditions.
To Ali-can anyone tell me what are the best settings for the camera?
i reckon the best setting or the camera is in pan-mode, its quicker, hardly any bluring unless your shaking the phone!! lol, oh on size 800x600 seems good to, unless anyone else seems to think other, plz say!
