So the ringtone volume on this phone is very low?? Thats no use to me. Oh well - perhaps I will wait for the launch of the U600.
This is possibly one of the best phones ever made. why? Because it has every feature you'll ever use...becasue nobody does internet browsing on a clamshell or bar phone unless they're psychotic. Get a Blackberry or e61/e61i for that stuff. The camera is fantastic it does what it's supposed to for a mobile camera..honestly i carry around a SD630 w/ me for serious photos and the D900 for videos which it does an EXCELLENT job on. Nobody has enough time to let autofocus work its magic and get that one sweet shot...it doesn't happen I don't care what cell you have, even if it came from the deep pits of endless Japanese technological hell and was created by ASIMO himslef while he was busy solving global warming. Nothing is that quick, so that's why the video feature is really excellent and does outstanding on this phone. But the single greatest feature of this phone is it's size..it's absolutely perfect for a pant pocket no matter how tight or how slim, NOBODY will tell you have a phone on and most of the time you forge until it vibrates. (ring volume is so low it may as well have never been included on the phone) So if anybody is on the margins really look into this cell, it's just magic. Kudos to Samsung for makign this one.
Yes it is possible to add a new word to the T9 dictionary (but apparently not available in all languages).
Let me share MY views regarding the DIALLING DISPLAY (menu 9-3-6) with you.
Selecting the 'THEME', I get a beautiful and stylish display of the quill pen. But a theme comes with some fixed settings and many other options like the key tones(9-4-2) & advanced shortcuts (9-2-6)becomes INACTIVE. The 'NORMAL', though not as beautiful as the theme, seems to be more useful. Bcoz, (1)I have 6 options after dialling a number-press ok/i key and save it, press green key and call it, press the 4 navigation keys-left, right,up,down and enter an application directly with the number, ofcourse with advanced shortcuts-ON. But in the 'THEME' only save and call options. (2) I can select the font colour, size and background colour of my choice. (3)I can select the keypad tone of my choice or turn it off. (4) I can turn the advanced shortcuts ON and completely make use of the uMenu feature.
still it is a question of beuty Vs utility

Jay84Virgo "Jeremy" : I see what you are talking about. I didn't have that photo of the wall paper below the menu in my phone. I wonder anybody have it. anyway, the umenu is something else.
If you don't know what Im talking about PLEASE LOOK HERE: http://www.lightmaker.com/newsletter/v18_newsletter/july_06/samsung/player.htm
Look at the main menu interface. Looks cool to me. Does anyone have this theme for their D900s?
I guess what I wanted to ask was if anyone had the living world theme interface for the main 9 icon menu? Theres a post card at the bottom of the screen with the light of day is just like when you dial numbers with your keypad. I've seen this with a few phones floating on the internet. But don't know exactly if those were just prototypes.
hello,
i have just bought this fone and im very impressed. it does have a dictionary which i can put my own wards in (some answers previously said this fone didnt). i would like to ask couple of questions tho :)
1) is there a way to install korean text support? it doesnt even have to have korean writing ability, just that i want to see korean mp3 file names when i put them on the fone. anyone know of a support for this fone or even a new firmware that supports it?
2) is there a way to have the "theme style text" when ur dialing the numbers without having some options turned off? for example the key volume...
Hi, due for an upgrade. Considering the D900 or possibly waiting for the release of the U600. Any help appreciated. What I do need to know though is if the ringtone volume on the D900 is loud. I have the D600 just now and am told that the ringtone is not as loud.
TERRI: In the search opinions box, type U-MENU and search. after that type U.MENU and search.
I now have U MENU on my phone thanks to Rajesh once again. I see that once you change from "theme" to "normal" gray areas disappear and the fun just begin.
hey guys, i was wondering : is it possible to integrate in this phone a fm radio function, cas comparing to mp3 -moor practical and easy to use !!!! thx
CRIS :If you go to your SETTINGS menu and then to option 4 - SOUND SETTINGS - and then option 2 - KEYPAD TONE - and then select the off option at the very top. I hope this helps you.
RAJESH :Thanks for the advice on the video. Its not fantastic but there is a massive difference from when I first used it and the full screen helps alot. Cheers
Thanks x x
To WILL. Your screen problem is not uncommon. Tap in CRACKED SCREEN at foot of this page and Search previous opinions. See letter from JIM. Good luck.
Does anyone know have the umenu interface on there D900? Its the menu where theres like a post card of the day at the bottom of the menu just like when you dial a number only the post card is at the bottom.
SARAH- go to the search opinions box at the bottom and type 302 720 there. 302(space)720
Dr.ADEDOYIN-U.MENU- If you are using a d900, it must have the u.menu. Go to display settings and change DIALLING DISPLAY from theme to NORMAL. (menu 9-3-6-1) then Go to phone settings and turn ADVANCED SHORTCUTS-ON.
OK...I had my phone for about 6 months now and NO Scratches or Dents. I never dropped my phone ever and took care of my baby. I slid open my phone yesterday and found out I got this crack in the inner screen bottom left corner and the whole screen is black except for the cracks of course. Warranty doesn't cover LCD even though there is no exterior damage or anything. I am so dissapointed since I never damage or drop the phone and stupid inside LCD screen is cracked. Anybody else experience this...a deep crack inside the plastic screen is cracked?? THis is really upsetting
