D900 or sharp 903... advantages and disadvantages ? .. personally right now im thinkning teh sharp is better
in reply to Voni...Some of the games are just demos, you have to purchase the full games.
I had always had the nokia range for years and years as I love the ease and quickness of use - my partner has samsung so I thought I'd give it a bash!
First I got the E900 as it was the latest and hated the touch-sensitive part of the phone SO! I then went and purchased the D900!
After having the phone 6 weeks half my screen went black (on the vertical), then the next day the whole screen!
My phone supplier got a new one to me and no probs as yet!
Pro's for me:
1Very sexy phone
2Clarity between it and my handsfree bluetooth
3Transfer of files via bluetooth very quick!
4Menu options very quick
Cons for me:
Really annoying when writing msgs as once you press cancel you have option to save to ddraft but then it doesnt store it! Really annoying!
Unable to save more than one number under a name
To be honest just a REALLY nice phone, shame samsung couldnt just do a little more with this model like the d900z and put some extra features in and make an almost perfect phone
Thought I'd try asking again....tried to email sm8 but said I needed full email address....can anyone answer...
Just got the phone..love it but cant find any voice tags...use it on the road and can only RECIEVE cals via my bluetooth headset.Does anyone know where they are....cant believe a phone this nice hasn't got the facility.Cant pull up on Mways to dial out??? So may have commited to £35x18mth contract on a phone that is of no use to me....
I am confused my heart was set on a Nokia and I decided on the E50 but my service provider says the D900 is the better phone. My requirements were synchronisation with diary on computer. Vibrating alert. Hands free speaker phone. Long bettery life. Bluetooth. Anything more that that is a bonus. Can anyone give me an opinion.
I'm interested in getting this phone but it is rather pricey. I've read all the comments etc but as usual, they are both for and against this phone.
I just want to know if it is worth the $769 (Aust) and if there are in fact 8 games as it said in the review. (Yes, I'm a game freak).
Please let me know! Am I better off getting the Nokia 6288 or LG Chocolate instead of this?
Does anybody know how i can transfer my contacts to this phone. i have them in CSV and vcard formats from my old sim card but now have this new d900 phone and a new sim. also, can i transfer my ipod tunes to this phone? assume i cannot
I ve taken your response and did some changes on my browser settings to download applications now. One thing i noticed is that Opera mini v2 does not support downloading. Thats why it keeps redirecting you to you phine browser. My browser gives error messages on unsupported applications only. Thanks a lot for you help.
Sorry I cannot help u with your enquiry Peace. All my contacts are saved in the SIM card and the only editable features are name and number which are readily changed when I want to. It's the only way I could have my contact list with me when using another phone which sometimes I do. By the way miss... does ur phone have one only THEME? mine does! Do u know how to change it? is it downloadable? thank u.
the lady with the date issue scroll down and you will be able to insert the date
Thank for ur help Peace, though I had found the answer in a D600 forum two days ago indeed. U've been the only one replying my query anyway here. It seems D600 has the same sofware profile at least on sms configuration. The point is that u're taken to "send and save" option only if after typing ur sms u press the soft key, but if you press down the central navigation key [Ok/i]instead and choose "phonebook" to search for the number, u'll never see again the "send and save" option but only "send" and that is exactly what was happening to me. My old SGH-Z140V didnot offered the option and saved every sms or mms which I prefer.
hi.. i have another question. i currently have a sharp 903 which is an awesome phone. i am thinking of getting a samsung d900 and i am just wondering is that worth it or is the sharp better ?
I have a software problem, my alarm wont ring and when I choose a name from the phonebook for a text message, it will send the text to someone else on my phonebook.
Anybody know solution to thise or experience this?
Lorenzo on the SMS issue.....when sending the phone comes up with the following function:
save and send
If you do not choose the option of save and send....your SMS will be sent & also save but if you choose the option of send only it willnot be stored.
I love my Samsung D900 as a woman I wanted a sleek and lovely phone which I have found in it. I will not trade it for any Nokia phone at the moment.
Currently I have a challenge with it....when I try to update a stored contact with a new number or adding a home or office number to it....when I click on save....a message comes up..''Invalid date'' has any one experienced this????????......does anyone know how I can add/update conact stored in the phonebook without this error message?????? Please respond to my enqueries....thank you
I am having trouble with my D900. Apparently my D900 is not read the microSD card, does anyone know what could be the problem?
Hey Yard man, it seems u've been messing arround with the phone quite for a good time to notice if at any time u send a sms or mms ur phone stores a copy in the sentbox or outbox...many does not do it in any of the boxes. Any idea of what it could be due to? and ow to solve it? I've left a previous post on this
anyone know where i can purchase the means to watch content from my phone on my tv. any
lead of any kind?!
Things that stand out about this phone:
1. The slider is surprisingly sturdy; I expected it to be a little more wobbly than it is.
2. No infrared.
3. A memory card is necessary (It stores about 7 full length songs).
4. Its thin (Duh!).
5. It takes good pictures & video, for a phone (note: the picture quality decreases in the dark).
6. All data is transferable through blue tooth (I use a MAC btw); contacts, songs, etc.
7. Most of the preloaded games are DEMOS (i.e. they stop after about 5 mins of play).
8. Volume plays low during the first second (approximate) of an incoming call.
9. If u buy it in the UK and intend to use it in the USA, u’re gonna need a power cord adapter (they use different sockets in Europe). Note; it can also be charged through the USB cable that comes in the box.
10. The alarm is loud enough to wake me up.
11. The scheduler comes in handy.
12. I must admit I expected better of the browser, but it works (I use msn messenger)
Good phone over all, and i'm feeling good about the buy (it’s about 1 month old).
BTW: The phone fell about 5 feet onto a tiled floor, it shut off, all I had to do was turn it back on, then I was good to go.
