I've been using this phone for a week, and it's absolutely a gem. A couple of questions though:
1) It was unable to detect my 1GB Kingston MicroSD card, but I managed to resolve the problem by doing a hard reset. Question is, I now have the blue GPRS icon on my screen. Any idea how it can be turned off?
2) With regards to taking pictures: I've turned off all shutter and flash sounds, but the phone still emits a 'beep' during picture taking. I suspect this sound is from the auto-focus. Anyone had any idea how to turn it off? Thanks!
Had problems with the sound, not as loud as the X830, a previous posting recommends taking the plastic cover off, seems to have done the trick for me, so i ve cut the top few mm below the speaker off the screen protector, makes quite a big difference !!
Reception depends on many factors. You didnt mention your friend had a tribad D600E or quadband D600.which service provider, which area he/she lives in bla bla bla...D900 is quadband and haven't heard so many complans about poor reception yet.
About battery, yes Samsung has a bad record of poor battery life. D600 uses 950mAh battery..this D900 has 800mAh..so its poorer than D600. At the same time you need to notice that this is only 12.9mm..much thinner than D600.Im not sure but there has to be some technical issues to make thin 1000mah-1500mAh batteries, otherwise they could have done it..or may be they could have used an integrated battery like they use in mp3 players.
Before you loose your trust on Samsung I would suggest you to have look at your expectations. A new model doest necessarily mean that it will have everthing improved. Good luck.
Hi, I have a quick question. I own the D900, and when i play games, it will only let me press one button and wont register the second button if i press it at the same time, does anyone know how to resolve this? Also it wont let me put pictures on my phone from my computer, but it works fine vice versa, does anyone know how to resolve this?
samsung d600 is a good phone but its had some problem in reception and battery that dont last. the big question is how come they make d900 it supose to be better at least with this two problems and heard from friends that is worst. i definetly loose my trust with samsung because technology is for better not for worst...
Just a quick Question. Im interested in buying the D900. Can you transfer numbers from the phone memory to the sim. My previous Samsung did not allow me to do that.
Does any one know if there is any way to automatically save sent messages on this phone or if there will be a software upgrape to sort this problem out?
-Battery life on this phone is embarrassing. -Volume and quality of calls is poor.
-Reception is not the best.
-In terms of functions its very basic.
-When putting in contacts it keeps asking me for a date??! (I'm assuming its the birthday of the contact) if I don't put one in I can't save it - stupid!!
-Software looked good to start with until I discover it conflicts with loads of other stuff on my PC and stops those from working!
+It looks the nuts.
+The screen quality is great.
+The camera takes great pics.
+Speaker quality on loud speaker is better than when using without!
+Small size is handy.
+Simple to use.
After having the phone a couple of weeks now I like it. However, unless Samsung sort out the battery life in the future, I won't be buying another one. My old Nokia with a green screen (several years ago) would outlast this by at least a week.
hi, maybe those who were complaining about sound has something wrong on thier hearing because all samsung phones are loud enough to hear even when you are in noisy places. It is not in the phone but it is in your hearing or maybe your are expecting to much on your phone that sound like a hifi sound system. You can obtain hifi sound when you are using the headset but using the external speaker that would be imposible. Anyway you can always connect your audio to a separate hife audio system and it sound really great, no doubt. I already experienced it using my samsung d820.
Try taking off the plastic screen protector that is covering the earpiece. This has been a problem for alot of people this peace is meant for packing only not to keep on the phone.

Hi just got the phone, it is awesome it has a very good design. I wanted to know how the microsoft word/ document viewer works on it? pease reply asap. thanks.
To turn off the Keypad tone: From Standby mode you can just volume down key to drop off the keypad tones. That way the pencil writing theme still operates. ;-)
