Hey usman thanks again but the problem i have is that on my phone there is no options when i go to java world. i go in menu/applications/java world ... and that's as far as i can go. when i select java world i get a message 'no game to run'. I had games before and still when they were there the only option was to play the game i could not go into any options or settings in java world. Donno if u could help me on this one or anyone else. Thanks
@tals & Rajesh,
Talking about upgrades, though not quite relevant on this forum, i'll suggest you consider nokia 5700. Not as expensive but has all the features of high end nokia n-series. I am using one and quite satisfied with it. I still have my precious D900 cos i use two networks. In a country like mine where nothing is ever working well, one phone and one network handicaps you.
it's nice to take n save pics to phone but it's litle slower and slows doun the phone in full size(3.2MP)Size, pics just better and great yaar. Like digital camera photo , Flash takes more battery and mp3 also
I have this phone now for over a year but im having probably with my memory card. I have to switch the phone off a few times before it reads the card. The phone went in last month for software upgrade and only got it back yesterday thinking that the card problem would be solved but it hasnt. it is still the same, does anyone have an idea for me as to what i can do to get the card reader to work?
Mona, It will be better if you read/search opinions before you post. You'll find the download url for Usman's java installation guide a few posts below.
Dr: Sounds strange !!?
Hi everyone, i already have this phone & i really don't know how to install games via usb ?! i'll be happy if anyone can help me here or mail me !
Had one since they came out. Excellent phone does all you will need on a regular basis. Totally reliable great build, great camera. Only downer is the gloomy and limited colours.
Voice clarity function is really useful and works extremely well. So why have the latest Samsung's retained the limited colours and ditched the clarity? Very disappointing on an otherwise good range of phones
D900 Tips...tricks...and more....
Tals, I was just commenting on Maxima's post. I don't know whether such a discussion has significance in this forum. However W890 seems to be a winner. Some people say that SE slim phones' sound is not that good through the phone's speaker. No need to bother about flash because SE attachable flash MXE-60 is superb! (if it is compatible with W890)
i read the discussions about D900 upgrades.
i want to upgrade my D900 and also think about SE.
the new W890i seems amazing:
the camera will have some missing features like auto-focus and flash (that is not that useful anyway) but:
- will have a more solid, totally metal construction.
- much better MP3 player.
- more compact design.
- amazing looks.
what do you think?
To Riyaad: You can change APN of Java World on your D900 by selecting Menu/ Applications/ Java World/ Options/ Network Settings. Now you can see APN and other settings. (USMAN)
The Samsung D900 is exactly like the Samsung SCH-R610 from Cricket. The bad thing about the phone is that it can't bluetooth other songs and pictures, just contacts.
usman thanks for the tips man but i still can't get the games to load. i did everything on the page and got as far as putting the games on the uploader and i see the progression bar on the phone but then i get an error everytime. Well i think the problem is that this is no option to go in the settings when i go to java world on my phone (D900) so i cant change the APN. Is there anyway to get around this.
Thank you USMAN,,there is always a trick to get round certain problems,,
To Rajesh/ Maxima:
I think, Samsung D880 is the better upgradation of D900 which has all the features of D900 (also picsel viewer & TV out & Themes) with DUAL SIM cards support (both SIMs are online simultaneously)+ FM stereo radio + Image Stamp + Dictionary software + Profiles + Video Streaming. but till now, in pakistan, it's price is around 21,000 pak rupees. I am not sure that it is available in INDIA or not but it is available in PAKISTAN. Hope that the price will drop down soon!
