Still using my Sansung GT-E2600 (November 2020) Managed to obtain a new battery when original packed in. Only fault, with me, never mananged to connect to internet, etc.

Unlike Nokia and Sony Ericsson feature phones, Samsung feature phones are just too generic and not unique and specific models are very obscure. Like there's nothing special about them.

I figured out how to adjust the volume a couple of days ago. You just have to press up/down on the front buttons during a call. It even says so in the manual, i guess i just read right past it.
So basically it's a great phone if you disregard the fact that the front buttons aren't illuminated. Definitely recommend it if you're just looking for a phone to text and call. It does have all the basics as well, like a calculator, organiser, radio, voice recorder, mp3 player and low level camera. And for my personal preference it gets style points as well since it's classic slider.
I'll give it an 8/10 overall relative to it's category. Negatives for me: no flashlight, no T9, afaik no ability to switch of gprs, and the unlit front buttons.

The e2600 has one MAJOR flaw. The audio on the speaker (the part you hold to your ear) is way too low. You can only understand the other person when you're in a completely quiet room. If there's any noise at all (cars, wind, music, whatever) you barely hear their voice.
One other minor annoyance, the front buttons aren't illuminated so you can't see them in the dark. Not a big deal but it would've been better if they were.
It's a shame though, besides the crappy speaker this phone was almost exactly what i was looking for. I'll probably go back to the store and see if i can trade it in for something else. Too bad.

Can anyone tell me how to disable the startup screen as well as the screen and the sound it does when I close it?It's very annoying and loud, I can't close it or open it without every single person around me noticing Thnx in advance

in the "contacts" menu navigate the tabs left or right, you'll find "favorites" > follow what you see, it's simple.
Good phone for the oldies, I enjoy it much!
