I work at o2 as a customer advisor and the e900 is currently in stock as pay as you but tends to go quickly because of its now ever growing popularity. If your getting it on contract then you should be able to pick it up much quicker. I have just ordered mine and cant wait. I have read a lot of opinions on this site and have noticed a lot of people mentioning the fact that the touch screen is very sensitive. The thing is, the touch screen is a very recent addition to handset and there are only two on themarket at present, the samsung and the Lg. Obviously, because its a new facility its not going to perfect for everyone and is basically still a new concept. Of course, there will be new handsets coming out in the future with this facility and samsung regard all feedback as positive issues and will opt to make the touch screens better for the public domain should the necessity arise. This is a really stylish phone and its just a matter of getting used to the touch screen. All in all, this is a decent little phone depending on what you are expecting and personal preference, but wouod definately recommend it
I too am being told that it isn't in stock everytime i ring 02. They have told me that it will definitely be in tomorrow - 19th. I still have doubts about this phone even though it looks fantastic. I rather like the Sony Ericsson K800i. Can anyone help me here please?? I have to decide by tomorrow. Thanks very much xxxxxxxxxx
hi well my e900 is on the way. apparently it is out of stock but i have been reading some of the messages on this site and they talk of ordering it and getting it the next day. i was just wondering if anyone else is being help up or just me :( im desperate for this phone it looks so great!! i have a motorola v3 atm and frankly uts crap compared to the specs of the e900. has anyone else been having trouble getting hold of their e900 (im on orange) please reply
I had the D500 and broke 2 days ago which forced me to buy a new mobile...and it had to be this one...Im glad that my D500 broke (although it is still class). I'm really happy with my new E900 but i have a small problem..It doesn't have a screensaver with the time like the D500...I don't know if anyone else has the same problem... I tried nearly everything to find a way to display the time when its innactive and nothing...anyone knows about it?
OK, I finally ordered this phone yesterday and it arrived this morning.
1st impression of this phone is very good. It's a very smart phone and feels great to hold. 1 bad point though is that fingerprints are visible, especially in the hot summer, but this is no big deal really - simply wipe them off in 2 seconds and you're happy.
The mp3 I have to agree isn't up to the standard of other phones but I don't use the mp3 player really, only for the ringtones so doesn't really bother me much.
Another thing about the ringtones is that it DOES NOT have to ring+vibrate and same time option - it DOES have vibrate THEN ring though, but again, I don't use this so I couldn't care less.
Also, to those people moaning that they had to change the text settings, each time they wanted to send a txt, to predictive text NO YOU DON'T. Simply go to options - input method and change it to what you want - IT REALLY IS THAT EASY!!
Next thing is the amount of people complaing that they keep pressing the 'cancel' button by accident etc - I've only had this phone since this morning and I've already got used to this feature - it is quite easy to use, although I do prefer buttons.
The camera is quite impressive, just you're normal 2 meg camera really and the Video quality is also of a high standard.
Overall, a good £199 well spent I would say and I would highly recommend this to people who are unsure about this phone.
This Phone Is Proper Smartt But The Touch Pad Buttons Can Be Sometimes Annoyin!! Ive Just Got This Phone For My Birfday & Its A Really Good Phone.. Good Camera...Good Sound [Loud]..Its Got Bluetooth & Mp3 Player & Expandable Memory Which Is Propa Good Coz If You Run Out Of Memory Yu Can Buy Memory Cards So Youve Got Extra Memoryyy =] I Would Recommend This Phoneee xxxxx
hi,iv had the E900 for a month now and i can say overall its such a great phone.cameras good and video recorder great, samsung has the best video recording quality outhere.the only problems i find it that the phone will neva vibrate at the same time ringing.and wen exiting the silent mode its makes this terrible ogrish sound dat i cant get rid of.and also if you have big fingers those touch sensitive buttons can be a nuissance
i just got the fone today..it is awesome!
im just wonderin, how long should the initial first battery charge take?
i am thinking about an upgrade from a nokia without camera to a phone with a camera. i hear only good things about this phone but i have some questions about it; if anyone could help i would be greatful:
-is there any chance to answer a call with the phone in the pocket or when getting it out of the pocket (due to the touchpad). i know it sounds silly, but i am really concerned about the matter (eventually is there any option to edit the sensitivity of the touchpad)
-is there anything to protect the screen from scratches
-how about the battery, are people ok with the battery life
i would be greatful for any help on these matters. thank you alot
I got this phone as soon as it came to the UK. It's superb really! There's no comparison with other elegant phones, like the LG Chocolate and especially that metal Nokia model (i lost track with nokia's model numbering) Just got a few questions on the E900 if anyone can help. How can i store my pictures directly on the memory card instead of copying them everytime from phone to card? How long does ur battery last? Is the menu with the picture thumbnails very slow?
I got this phone on Saturday - I love it but I have a few criticisms - the touch-sensitive keys on the outside are too close to the central 'joystick' pad - a few times when I have been navigating a menu my finger has brushed the 'C' button and cancelled what I was doing - this also happens when turning the phone around to take self-portraits or even handing it to other people.
Using the 'c' button deliberately such as to delete characters on a text message is a little slow as the touch-sensitive area doesn't register very fast presses.
When the phone is switched on but the slider is closed, the screen is blank. My old D500 used to display the time, whereas when I look at the new E900 I don't even know if it is switched on or not.
Having said that - the camera is very good, the menu is up to the usual great Samsung standards - and the problems with the touch-sensitive keys are merely 'teething' troubles until I get used to handling the phone.
Well im looking for a new phone, i Want a nice stylish one that wernt go out of fashion in 12 months i mainly use my phone for Texting Mp3 and Photos, and easy to use would this phone meet those?
yeah i do agree it looks very nice and i did want it b4 i saw the z400 but when i used it in the store when i went 2 press across right i kept hitting cancel, i mean could that just be because i'm not used to it?
to the one below: if i were you i would definetly go with the E900 its very stylish looks and feals just right but if you're into 3G and its a major option for you then go for the Z400 but again its doesnt matter to me so E900 is just the right choice :)
Thanks for responding so quickly, and helping me make up my mind, I will be requesting to exchange my LG Chocolate handset for the New Samsung E900.
Fingers Crossed all will go well with T-Mobile
In reply to your questions:
1, Does the keypad light up? cos the LG Chocolate does not so you can not write texts in the dark! totally frustrating and annoying. yes :)
2, Can you change the message tone to one of your choice(either downloaded or bluetoothed)as have tried and explored all options and settings on the chocolate and it cant be done. No I wanted to do this too but I can't find out how. I don't think that its possible.
3, Can you add pics to your contacts,so you get a pic of the person who is calling you?
as above tried all options/settings on the chocolate and this cant be done, even when you take a picture with the handset. Bizarre i know. Yes you can do this
4, Can you actually see the display when outside, as when using the chocolate i can not see a thing! Yes
