Anonymous, 08 Feb 2020Set time apart to kill adds is good entertainment for kids but if you are getting things done ... moreJust saying, out of the box with this phone we get like 7-8GB (free), and thats a 2,3 apps, and 5-6 time update of ose apps, and internal memory will be full. Yes SD cards are cheap, but, anyway, all data from apps goes to internal memory, even if we set external memory as primary. But bigger problem is, screen there is no oleofobic coating at all, this is like only phone from known OEM that does not have OC. And about ads in Xiaomi/Redmi phones, there is a option to turn recomandation off, after that there is no more ads, if you turn them in Security >> cleaner, etc.. In "downloads", " Music", "File Manager", at least for country in EU (via region set), if you're in India, thats something else.. Also Redmi 8a have bad brightness, like Redmi 8, so if someone wants Xiaomi, it is better option to pick Xiaomi Redmi Note 8, same goes gor Samsung, A20 or better, with those cheaper device there is a always some compromise, in screen quality at least.
BlackHat, 08 Feb 2020My mom sent hers a50 the first week that she bough it due severe bugs with software (a samsung... morePost full of fail dude, first this is the projected price in india for this phone:
And your mom had the fortune to get service for her phone due to support of a respectable brand, you know what happens if you crack the screen of your chinese phone? in a majority of countries you are not going to find service or parts, some guy that cracked an A3 screen could never find it so I directed him to aliexpress but as it turns out it costs almost as much as the phone (before shipping and without installation) so he had to get a new phone.
On the rest of your comments, you know all phones have bloatware so that's a given, your nice chinese phones have it too but bloatware doesn't get in the way of your work, ads do and in a bad way and spyware if there is there by any chance could cost you dearly if you store private or financial data on your phone.
I love it when people say how great of a deal their chinese phones are, a big LOL to them.
Q, 08 Feb 2020Well of you don't know how to turn those "ads" for like 20 sec, maybe it is this A01 with 16GB... moreSet time apart to kill adds is good entertainment for kids but if you are getting things done on a schedule with your phone is just unacceptable... a phone is there to serve you not to keep messing with you and you with it.. 16 extra gb are $5 or less, ridiculously cheap, even for a poor dude.
DavidNamdvili, 07 Feb 202016GB ? WTF ? 2020 year !Not everyone needs to have their whole life inside a damn phone... even in 2020, to conduct business a few IM apps and space for some pics is all you need and hardly you will get into the multigigabyte territory. Anyways a SD slot if offered so it shouldn't be a problem.
Anonymous, 06 Feb 2020Larger, much heavier and full of ads, way to go..... and MIUI LOL.
If xiaomi can't come up ... moreMy mom sent hers a50 the first week that she bough it due severe bugs with software (a samsung sign) after those bugs were fixed and despite of have a way powerful SOC lacks of a lot of smoothness due its poorly optimize software, you can look for comparison on youtube, and even in the comment section of those phones.
This phone is at least 40 euros more expensive than the Redmi 8A (according to the prices of this website), Heavier? yes but at least justify with a big battery, abusive? come on!, samsung phone comes with a lot of bloatware and in their cheap phones is worse.
And with 16gb where 14.7 are real (this is with all manufacturer, no samsung fault) 4-5 for the OS and 2-3 for basic apps: facebook, whatsapp, instagran, etc, Good luck having a minimal and decent experience after 3 months.
I rather take the risk with any other brand with at least better specs even if they are only over paper but cheaper.

If xiaomi can't come up ... moreWell of you don't know how to turn those "ads" for like 20 sec, maybe it is this A01 with 16GB int memory,, screen without oleofobic coating etc.. in 2020, for people like you, who knows.

If xiaomi can't come up with a good non abusive UI they should at least offer their phones with ad free android one for a premium. No doubt $10-15 would be well worth it.
I had the chance to try one of their A series phones with the android one OS and is severely lacking features even basic ones and have a pretty bad camera app but it is completely silent, no ads anywhere and decently fluid and responsive, no garbage installed opting out at setup, they just leave you alone, what a joy.
Anonymous, 05 Feb 2020Which of them is better? Redmi 7A or Galaxy A01Redmi 8A: Same SOC, better battery (5000mah), better design, gorilla glass 5, 32gb rom, compass, MIUI, USB type C, quick charge include.
Anonymous, 04 Feb 2020You are a hardware specs obsessed dude like most people today who think more is necessarily be... moreI agree with you bro. I also consider UX superior to over-blown specs. I bought a Realme C2 but the experience was just pure bullshit. I traded it with my sister's Galaxy Grand Prime+ (she made no late in agreeing), and I'm happy with this phone because the experience is minimal and very easy. Plus Samsung rocks even at less numbers.
Anonymous, 05 Feb 2020Here it goes: The samsung has larger small bezels screen yet is lighter, PLS is samsung's I... moreTo clear up the 2mp depth sensor is in the samsung and is for those blurry background shots, pretty useless but it's there.
Anonymous, 05 Feb 2020Which of them is better?
Redmi 7A or Galaxy A01Here it goes:
The samsung has larger small bezels screen yet is lighter, PLS is samsung's IPS.
The 7a has larger battery but you will get to the end of the day with either phone. Has a compass sensor which is almost redundant with GPS. A 2 mp depth sensor for some pic styles.
The samsung has android 10 out of the box and oneUI 2 which is by far regarded as better than MIUI.
The 7As MIUI is an ads/spam machine that never stops and it takes time and effort to reduce the number of ads that cannot be eliminated fully. The 7a has android 9 and may or may not get 10. The 7a as most chinese phones can contain china spyware.
So there you go pretty much the same unless you want to pay extra for more storage BUT the user experience with samsung will be better.
Goldman , 04 Feb 2020Extremely poor phone from Samsung. Budget doesnt mean you start selling trash. Your comment is priceless bro i agree with you

Orange97, 03 Feb 2020Here's a comparison between the Galaxy A01 and Redmi 8. Judge by yourself:
Redmi... moreYou are a hardware specs obsessed dude like most people today who think more is necessarily better.
If you are a light user who wants a lighter, smaller phone from a trusted manufacturer you are going to go with the samsung eyes closed.
And then if you go with the redmi you get to pay the better specs through tons of ads which can't be totally controlled, privacy concerns and bad software.
User experience many times is way more important that some specs that many people won't even make use of.
Here's a comparison between the Galaxy A01 and Redmi 8. Judge by yourself:
Redmi 8: 188g
Galaxy A01: 149g √√√
IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen, 16M colors
6.22 inches, 96.6 cm (~81.8% screen-to-body ratio) √√√
720 x 1520 pixels, 19:9 ratio (~270 ppi density)
PLS TFT capacitive touchscreen, 16M colors
Size 5.7 inches, 77.9 cm (~75.1% screen-to-body ratio)
Resolution 720 x 1520 pixels, 19:9 ratio (~301 ppi density) √√√
Chipset: Both pack the SD439. So it's a tie here.
Redmi 8: 5000 mAh √√√
Galaxy A01: 3000 mAh
Redmi 8: 3/32 - 4/64 √√√
Galaxy A01: 2/16
• Rear Cameras:
Redmi 8: 12 MP, f/1.8, 1/2.55", 1.4µm, Dual Pixel PDAF √√√
2 MP, 1/5.0", 1.75µm, depth sensor
Galaxy A01: 13 MP, f/2.2, 28mm (wide), 1/3.1", 1.12µm, AF
2 MP, f/2.4, 1.75µm, depth sensor
Redmi 8: 8 MP, f/2.0, 1/4", 1.12µm √√√
Galaxy A01: 5 MP, f/2.2, 1/5", 1.12µm
Redmi 8: Type-C √√√
Galaxy A01: MicroUSB
• Fingerprint sensor:
Redmi 8: √√√
Galaxy A01: Nope!
• Price: Both around $100.
All in all, A01's only advantages are the Weight and the slightly better Pixel Density. Otherwise, it's a complete TRASH compared to Redmi 8.
So don't waste your money for the A01.
