Samsung Galaxy A06 5G launches in India with Dimensity 6300, 4 OS updates

The new Samsung Galaxy A06 5G is the first 5G-capable phone in the A0 family. And despite its modest price of ₹10,500, it promises 4 OS updates – that’s as much as some flagships are getting (and doubles what others are).

The phone is powered by the Dimensity 6300 and supports 12 5G bands. The phone runs Android 15 out of the box with One UI 7. As mentioned above, it will get 4 OS updates (compared to just 2 for the A06 4G) and security patches will last until early 2030.

Like its 4G sibling, the A06 5G features a 6.7” PLS LCD with 720 x 1,600px resolution (20:9), though this one runs at a higher refresh rate of 90Hz. New to the A06 generation is the side-mounted fingerprint reader.

There are three cameras on board. On the back, the 50MP main (f/1.8, AF) can record 1080p video at 30fps and has a slow-mo mode (720p @ 120fps). It is joined by a 2MP depth sensor. The front-facing camera is an 8MP module (f/2.0) inside a notch.

The phone also has a USB-C (v2.0), 3.5mm headphone jack, Wi-Fi 5 (ac) and Bluetooth 5.3. The supported 5G bands are 1, 3, 5, 7, 8, 26, 28, 40, 41, 66, 77, 78. Note that storage is expandable via microSD.

The 5,000mAh battery supports 25W wired charging. The body is similar, measuring 8mm thick and weighing 191g, but the 5G model has better protection with an IP54 rating.

The Galaxy A06 5G is related to the Galaxy A06, which launched last August and arrived in India at ₹10,000 for a 4/64GB. The 5G model starts a bit higher for the same 4/64GB capacity, ₹10,500. There is also a 4/128GB version for ₹11,500 and a 6/128GB model for ₹13,000. You can get a one year screen protection plan for just ₹129.

The A06 5G will be available through all retail outlets in India, both online and offline. You can pick between three colorways: Black, Gray and Light Green. Here it is on Samsung India. Other markets have not been confirmed yet.
